  1. Your right I should have and I am sorry. I come here to discuss wrestling not to be trolled by people with serious issues. I apologize for my words but that wasn't started by me, clearly Sinister threw the first punch here In answering your question give me a moment and I will. I'm done with those two
  2. So your just trolling me now right? Because I asked you straight up if I ever spoke to you EVER and the answer is NO, I'm pretty sure that you have an agenda like Matt and that's to troll me whenever I post and I hope the Mods see the behavior you two guys are engaging in. If you don't like me IGNORE ME
  3. You apparently do know me. Have I ever spoken to you? Have I ever insulted you? Did I ever talk to you in any post the way you just did to me? Yet you say you don't like me, insult me, and start this with me, I don't respect you, I don't know why anyone would. We were discussing wrestling and you started this not me What do you have to do with this at all?
  4. I did not insult that fool and was having a discussion and he turns around saying that BS about he doesn't like me like a little *****? Come on man I didn't resort to that. I said he was wrong to say that HHH played a major role in the MNW and that's the truth, and its also probably truth that is dick probably isn't even old enough to know about this stuff or have lived through it and just reciting what he saw on the WWE network.
  5. Well that escalated quickly, not surprised really you always came across like a dick to me and I'm sure you wouldn't have the balls to say any of that to my face but behind your monitor your a tough guy. Same **** different toilet with some of you
  6. Your pretty cranky Sinister, so lets review....YOU said Wrong. In my eyes there is no way in hell that one of the "Main Reasons" WCW lost the MNW was because of HHH, Not a chance not in this lifetime. HHH was a B player, WCW didn't lose the MNW because of B players. Guys like Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley had much more influence on the MNW who were also B players but none of them were "Main reasons" they lost. I'm glad you think your right and that everyone here is wrong but your wrong, by the time DX was in full swing the war was already over and its been proven, think what you want though, this sort of argument I expect to have as time goes on and people make up history because its what they were told by WWE.
  7. completely agree....For a comparision the last PPV the WWF had in 1998 compared to that clustertrash that was Starrcade 1998 was Rock Bottom: In Your House - General Motors Place; Vancouver, British Columbia 12/13/1998 - Light Heavyweight Title: Champ Duane Gill beat Matt Hardy - Kevin Quinn beat Brian Christopher - Triple H beat Droz - Tag Team Titles: Champs New Age Outlaws beat The Acolytes by DQ - Mark Henry & D-Lo Brown beat The Godfather & Val Venis - The Headbangers beat The Human Oddities - Steve Blackman beat Owen Hart by count out - The Brood beat Bob Holly, 2 Cold Scorpio, & Al Snow - Goldust beat Jeff Jarrett - Tag Team Titles: Champs New Age Outlaws beat Big Bossman & Ken Shamrock - WWF Title: Mankind beat Champ the Rock by knocking him out with the Mandible Claw. Since Rock didn't submit Mankind didn't get the title - Buried Alive: Steve Austin beat The Undertaker Now as a lifelong fan of wrestling when I see the closing of 1998 its clear which brand is the one to watch and that's still with HHH was fighting Droz that show! My point is by 1999 the MNW was way over and HHH was a B player in it those years. He just happens to run the company now so can make up any "history" he wants whenever and people like my 12 year old twins will believe it because they don't know any better
  8. Funny you post this after LKB just posted his reply to that. Look if you choose to think that HHH was a main player in the War then I personally would think that Sixx Pac, XPac, the Lightening Kid whatever you want to call him Sean Waltman played more of role in that war then HHH did as did Mike Tyson. People weren't turning into MNR to see what HHH was going to do until he clowned on the Nation of Domination and by that time the bookers at WCW had watered down the NWO so much it was barely watchable, they had no one to bring in to spark a new MNW because ECW was so regional that bringing in the Sandman had no effect that they brought in Jay Leno and Dennis Rodman which was awful, they botched Bret Harts whole career into the company, everyone was sick and tired of Hulk Hogan and the other WWF retreads that ran the show backstage. The WCW killed themselves, they made way more mistakes then HHH gave contribution to it. In fact the only real foot they had to stand on when 1998 began was Goldberg freshness and the young guys like Eddie and Chris B and Chris J that jumped ship soon there after. This was the closing PPV in 1998 Starrcade - Cruiserweight title: Champ Billy Kidman beat Juventud Guerrera & Rey Mysterio Jr. - Cruiserweight Title: Champ Billy Kidman beat Eddie Guerrero - Norman Smiley beat Prince Iaukea - Perry Saturn beat Ernest Miller - Scott Norton & Brian Adams beat Jerry Flynn & Fit Finlay - TV Title: Champ Konnan beat Chris Jericho - Eric Bischoff beat Ric Flair - WCW Title: Kevin Nash beat Bill Goldberg to win the title The MNW was way over by then to me, no one wanted to watch that and that was awful. The contributions that HHH gave to this fight were done mostly in 1999-2000 when he teamed up with Stephanie which is why I said define when the MNW happened. The WWE says they happened between 1995-2001 because it fits a narrative but the facts are what they are. HHH was there, he was a part of it never said he wasn't, but nothing to the degree that he makes it out to be. Funny thing about HHH, always used a woman to raise himself to higher heights in this business.
  9. Exactly she was even on the cover of playboy magazine, hard to imagine today but back then the pops the New Aged "Oh you didn't know" Outlaws at the time were more over then HHH was too. In 1998 DX was mired in feuds with the Nation of Domination, Owen Hart, and then the corporation and still was splitting up on TV. History is being rewritten saying HHH was a huge part of that war, he was a part of it but nothing like they are portraying to me.
  10. I wish you were joking but I'm sure you aren't. Triple H and DX in my mind didn't really do much at all to win the MNW. To determine the influence you have to define when the MNW occurred. To me I think they ran between 1995 and 1998. I know that WCW didn't fold until 2001 but the height of that battle was between those years and after Ultimate Warrior arrived in WCW for a couple weeks in 1998 Nitro didn't win the ratings battle again and fell off a cliff. By the time DX was being run by HHH the war was pretty much over sure WCW still existed but no longer was it even close. DX came to be under HHH leadership after Shawn left the company in April of 1998 but was always playing second fiddle to Shawn in those days before in that group. Before that he was second fiddle to Chyna, and before that Steve Austin and the Undertaker and Mick Foley and even The Rock. Lets be clear, Shawn Michaels is not HHH and was not a prime time player then. In other words my point is that HHH being a main contributor to doing anything significant to win that war is being overstated. He is the last man standing today, holding the book and company in his hands now but when I look at the MNW there is only one moment that I consider HHH to be very involved in that War and it was when he "invaded" WCW in 1998 with the new DX but by then the ratings streak was already back in WWF's hands albit for a brief moment and the war was over. Here is an illustration showing what I mean Now if you listen to how they tell the story today HHH was the main reason the WWF won that war, but that's not at all how I see it or remember it. The reasons the WCW lost is numerous, none of them was because of HHH and they are revising history as they see fit now
  11. I suspected it was some sort of in ring showing that the Monday Night Wars was won by the WWE and put to rest was my guess. Not like we need to be reminded by HHH that happened, think he needs to be reminded that when the wars were going on he was a first match joke getting thrown in pig dung and was nothing during them. Chyna was more over then he ever was in those days but if this is the last we hear about the MNW I can live with it. True story my 12 year old twins said to me "Isn't Sting that guy from TNA" when they saw him. WWE needs to remember that there are fans out there who have no clue what WCW was or even care. Time for them to move on Looked great, but clearly past his prime. They hinted he was coming back, I honestly hope not. Would rather see him as an attraction then every week player now
  12. Loved wrestlemania this year, my head scratcher moment was the handshake after the Sting HHH match but overall was a great show. Next year I will be there
  13. Appreciate the afternoon company Epoch..... So first you do know that the DRAFT is a way and the very best way to improve your team right? Also you do know that if a player is cut he is not a free agent that counts in compensatory picks right? And you do know that teams that spend money in FA generally do not win right? The results for big spending in FA doesn't work. We of all fans should know that And maybe you know that money we "had" to spend could have been used to re-sign players like Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Williams and we still need to do that right so not doing that actually hurts us right? And you do know that the Patriots and Ravens haven't gone out there spending crazy money this year like the teams like us did so many times and they are always winning right? Or maybe you don't so your welcome for the education. Either way let me be very clear with you. Spending money in Free Agency does not equal success and the best teams like the Patriots and Ravens do not spend money in it. In fact http://overthecap.com/draft Shows which teams next year likely will get those extra draft picks and guess who's on the list expected to get 3rd to 5th round compensatory picks next year? DET, NE, SEA, CAR, DEN, SF, BAL, GB, DAL, CLE, All playoff teams last year except the 49ers and Browns. And which teams will get the most picks? Denver with 4 and the Ravens with 3 picks. Year after year its the same for the Ravens, always near the top for extra picks. Why aren't we getting anything? Oh it's because we spent the money that's why doh! It's the same every year for us. When things like this happen year after year you should stop and ask why, because clearly you do not get this, it is not a coincidence that we are not on that list. It's because our approach to FA is wrong and if you understood this maybe you would look at a team like the Ravens who have won multiple Superbowls since our last one, who are always competing, who are always getting extra multiple picks and think that shinny new toy is not what we need.
  14. If you think that losing Orakpo wouldn't have earned us a high compensatory pick on his own then your wrong. Orakpo signed a 4 year 32 million dollar contact with Tennessee. Orakpo's contract just on it's own last year would be worth a 3rd round pick for compensatory picks. The problem is that is what we just gave Chris Culliver the same contract, 4 years 32 million bucks. So instead of us getting a 4th or a 3rd round pick the contracts will offset and we get no compensatory picks for Orakpo leaving. What I am saying to you is that when you say things like "You seem to be missing where we need players other teams want in order to get comp picks." Your wrong. We had the players others wanted and could have gotten a pick next year for him. Instead we used Free Agency again the wrong way and we won't get anything. Do you have a problem with us getting an extra 3rd round pick? As for what you said about next year, I'm not sure you even understand this. For every guy we lose, if we bring in someone through Free Agency the chances that were going to get any compensatory picks goes way down. Only when we decide to sit out Free Agency and make the draft the priority will we ever reap this reward. Everything we lose is compared to what we gained, and there is a net. In this case Orakpo and Culliver canceled each other out. Will Culliver be worth more then a 3rd round pick next year, we don't have any idea at this point, but long term the answer is NO. Short term its YES. That's our take on FA, its always about the short term and never enough about the long term and we need to change that
  15. I disagree with this and of course that snarky remark that PJ just put there and we can agree to disagree but let it sink in with you that the Ravens who I have zero affection for since they came to existance long after I moved from the local area, were winning the Superbowl in 2012 and currently have only 5 starters on that team remaining on it today just a few years removed from it yet were a bad refs call away last year from appearing in yet another AFC Championship game. The team says they value draft picks but they act in ways that show we are miles behind the Ravens in terms of running a team in ways that we still don't seem to understand as an organization. I said last week that you shouldn't sell your teams soul (In regards to the pukes recent addition of Hardy) and today I'm saying we have to build ours. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/14/ravens-play-the-long-game-with-compensatory-picks/ Very good article which I think you should read. I didn't put this here to debate with you, I realize I might attract posters with my thoughts, but since I have your ear why not educate yourselves some? People view Compensatory picks and Free Agency differently but they are uniquely connected. The Ravens have been awarded the most compensatory picks since that started because they have a much different philosophy then shared by this team or the fan base. 1. The Ravens know that you don't retool your team in Free Agency. You point to us doing exactly that with those signings. That's retooling and you do not do that in Free Agency, if your team does not do that in Free Agency then your team is rewarded with extra draft picks. What's most important to a team? Draft picks. Anyone posting "Go get that guy" and I've done this recently when I said go get Rivers which I'm sure you both likely disagreed with, but that is a top 10 NFL QB in this league and immediately would put us on top of this division so there are exceptions to the rule, however normally there aren't. Will Culliver, Johnson, Paea, or Knighton offset the fact we won't get any compensatory picks for Orakpo and Helu? Highly doubtful. If we didn't sign those guys we would have gotten extra picks next year. That's the thing about compensatory picks vs. Free Agency. Compensatory picks are the longview at looking at your team, free agency is bandaid short sightedness. 2. They know that it is very bad business to get into bidding wars for the players they might lose. The Ravens do something unheard of to most of you. They set up formulas that say for example if they lose Torrey Smith they will get a 3rd round draft pick if he signs for X number of dollars. So they offer him below that, and they wait to see if another team signs him. They know the players going to take the most money they can so when Smith moves on it's actually very good for them, they just got a 3rd round draft pick. They have shown to themselves that it starts and ends with Flacco and only he is the unreplaceable player to that team. Instead of bidding up players they let them leave. Right now it appears as if the Ravens are hurting, but that's short sighted. They know they will be fine getting more picks down the road like that. If Redskins fans were in Ravens fans shoes today we would be having meltdowns 3. Most important, the Ravens know that what separates teams most of all in the NFL is scouting and the NFL draft. It is the life blood of that franchise and why they don't seem to miss a beat when they have so much turnover. Scouts can find the players that can play on that team, they are amazing at using that farm system. We on the other hand hopefully are better today then this time last year but have a long ways to go to be on that level of thinking. What I want is to get Scott more draft picks, why because he is the guru at spotting talent. So the more picks he can get in his hands the better we should be right? Well that's one way another team does it. We should be doing the same. That comes with maturity, and it starts with people understanding that not doing anything in FA is actually a very very smart thing to do.
  16. I get what your saying Epoc but disagree We won't get any thing for Orakpo because we signed other people. We won't get anything for Helu because we signed other people. So there goes the whole "develop people other teams want to sign" IF you sign other teams players you won't get any free picks, not signing players doesn't take any time to do so there goes your "Our FA to this point seems to suggest we are working on getting to that point by the types of players we've signed. But it's not going to happen immediately." idea too. It could have happened immediately You simply do not sign other teams Free Agents if you want Compensatory picks. The way we handled this years FA wasn't much different to me then in the past couple of years in regards to compensatory picks. We signed a bunch of guys, we killed our chance to get any compensatory picks back and won't get any, and this week we are going to hear how the good teams are getting rewarded with more free picks. That sucks. We have to get there but signing a bunch of other teams players is exactly how not to do that
  17. so like here's a "random" thought. The Redskins and compensatory picks.....we never get any. We are far too active in signing free agents to ever get any. Even in a year like this one, where the biggest money contract we signed - 4 milly for pot roast - where we lost Rakpo we still won't get any compensatory picks. It really pisses me off that teams like the Ravens actually exist out there who every year get multiple free picks while we get none because that should be this team. I get pissed because I am jealous Bmore is right up 95 and are our neighbors but Snyder can't ever seem to to get the "how and the why" the Ravens gets multiple extra picks every year and the Skins get none. What Bmore does, and the Packers do well is draft. They pick players who will play for them. Giving them ammunition like these free picks plays right into their hands and why they are extremely successful. They draft well, they scout great, they stick to a system and they show every year they are a next man up franchise. The Packers today have ONE, just one player who ever played on another team besides the Packers. Can you honestly imagine that one day that be said about us? The name of the game, is called coaching. We don't develop anything here. We just plug and play some other teams player hoping that we get it right but never do. We did it again this year. While we are making splashes in free agency, Bmore is not. The Packers are not. They are letting guys leave because they do know how to coach and they know how to develop rookies to play in this league and those they develop who play well stay there and guys we have like that like Roy Helu leave us. We should get something for Helu but we won't because we signed Pot Roast and those other guys. Bmore and Packers just kick back and get more free picks and most importantly they turn those picks into quality football players. When Griffin/Cousins which ever leaves next year do not be the least bit surprised when the Redskins don't get even a 7th round compensatory pick for them. It won't happen. We never get those picks because we are active in free agency. The key to compensatory picks is not to take another teams player. Re-signing your own guys who are free agents like Bmore did with Forsett doesn't hurt them for those compensatory picks. I would love to look at this team sometime in the future where getting compensatory picks becomes our own business model. That path to success in today's league is mastering the compensatory system One last time.... Draft, Develop, Stay Away from other teams Free Agents, Re-sign guys you develop and let go those players you can replace, Get free draft picks, Repeat. Draft, Develop, Stay Away from other teams Free Agents, Re-sign guys you develop and let go those players you can replace, Get free draft picks, Repeat. Draft, Develop, Stay Away from other teams Free Agents, Re-sign guys you develop and let go those players you can replace, Get free draft picks, Repeat. It's one of the most misunderstood keys to winning in the league today but why you can see Bmore a play or a call away from another Championship game when they only have 5 players left from there superbowl team from 3 years ago.
  18. Why didn't they use Stings real voice for the promo last week?
  19. Each of those guys to me have a place in a Wrestling hall of fame with the only really questionable member there being Koko B Ware because he didn't even wrestle for a decade. Rikishi wrestled for over 20 years, and was a member of some of my favorite tag teams - Samoan Swat Team, The Head Shrinkers - not to mention his late career run as Rikishi. Not sure why anyone would have a problem with him being in. Koko on the other hand I still don't understand?
  20. The Sheepherders in the MidSouth/UWF/Memphis era were awesome! The cartoonist characters they became in the WWF were funny but I will always have a fond memory of Luke and Butch because they remind me of these old days There were several versions of the Sheepherders like this one Kiwi Sheephearders in the CWA who was Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan But the originals, the ones that I remember fondly when they were going against the Fantastics Butch and Luke were awesome. And most people have no idea that they started wrestling in the 1960's long before they hit the WWF. I have no problem with them being in the HOF and deserve to be there. Not for what they did in 1989 in the WWF but for having the careers they did http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bushwhackers#The_New_Sheepherders Good read about them even though it is wiki lol
  21. Your saying a stable split down the roster with the established on one side and the younger upstarts on the other, not sure what Im missing. Either way if HHH and his wife and that lame stable continues to invade TV and dictate the direction of the company every thing suffers
  22. IDK KDawg, sounds like the millionaires club vs the new blood to me and I would be pissed if I saw that. I really think they need to go this direction going forward. They need to do away with Triple H and Stephanie on screen completely, and kill the goon squad of Big Show and Kane while they are at it. Also Rollins needs to be freed from those two pansies that interfere with his matches. Simply dismantling that crap and concentrating on the in ring product can elevate it from where it is now. So much of the show and production today is about HHH and the McMahons. When they left TV after survivor series it was like a dark cloud was lifted for everyone that lasted all of one show, when that dumbass laptop made it's ugly return. That should never be brought back either. None of that is helping the business right now, its never really worked outside of Austin vs McMahon. Things like backstage power being on TV always draws the wrong heat and takes away from the talent. Its not that I don't want to see Sting wrestle so much as I don't want to see more of HHH and company in any capacity. No one cares about Rollins today because the bit is tired, his heat is stale because of that faction. If he is truly the future of the WWE then he needs to do it on his own. His curb stomp is one of the best finishers I have ever seen, he needs to get away from those guys. Champions can belong to factions but they cant be in the spotlight because of a faction. Doesn't work for a new wrestler like Rollins, it can work to protect a veteran like Hogan in 1997 People want to suspend disbelief when they watch wrestling and pretend that the underdog has a chance. When that group gets together its the HHH show and no chance the underdog can win. Week after week of this kills the business and hurts the product and talent. Remember when the days of the NWO were going? Why did that get killed? Same reason, over exposure, too many people in the faction, too many times seeing that if the result was anything unliked by those in power it would be reversed except back then it was new and now near 20 years later it still sucks. No one wants to see that. But its forced fed to us each and every week. Vince gets pops when he shows up because he rarely shows up. Brock Lesner gets crazy pops because he's rarely seen. HHH needs to hang it up, be a CEO and nothing more, his wife needs to go away, its not a requirement to have a commissioner. I miss the days of Jack Tuney when we rarely rarely ever saw him unless the story called for it. We weren't forced to deal with hand picked champions like we are now. Any future of the WWE needs to start there, anything less and I don't think it will work
  23. Watched the ppv, didnt hate it. Mark out moment for me was seeing Rusev go over on Cena and my joy combined with my youngest boy getting upset that Cena lost. I marked out because I thought they would eff up Rusev and they didnt and because my boy is just like his Dad, I marked out for Hogan and Savage when I was his age. Rusev is still the best heat wrestler they got now. He has the size to put up big man matches with Reigns and Lesner Big Show, he fills in for the bully underdog matches against Bryan Ambrose Ziggler, and his character is not talking much which is refreshing since its different then everyone not named Lesner. He should go over at Mania so squashing him to Cena and upsetting those little fans isnt good for Mania and we just saw that match. Brothers match, Divas match, opening 6 way, and Ambrose Barrett sucked which the latter was a let down. Liked the crazy ending and surprise DQ but left feeling flat as I wanted to see a winner. Randy Orton return, Rusev Cena match, Daniel Bryan telling Reigns not to screw it up at the end of that match were all good moments with me. Liked and disliked the ppv which means it was normal for me except I know its 30 days before Wrestlemania and thats not okay with this lifelong fan at the ppv before. Not a fan of the card of wrestlemania, dont want to see Sting HHH but Sting will go over. HHH has no problem laying down when it calls for it and it does here. Why should he? HHH was a 2 minute squash to The Ultimate Warrior in his return to WWF, he owes that to Sting for coming to the WWE finally. Dont want to see Rhodes brothers fued, or the return of the Undertaker. Love the Undertaker but what is the point? Liked Bray popping out of the coffin bit but dont even understand why they want to bring him back. If he goes over, whats the point? If he loses whats the point? Match doesnt make sense on any level to me. They had to build it right to work and they didnt. Matches I would like to see at mania.... Four Corners Tag Team match for the belts. Make it four teams not two. There arent any teams to carry that belt now so include more stars....Champs, Usos, Show and Kane, and Rowan and Ryback with a surprise twist and the champs retain. IC Title thriple threat....Ambrose, Bryan, and Ziggler. Move the strap off Barrett and put those three in the ring at the same time against each other and you could tear the house down with that with Ziggler winning Add a special stipulation in the Andre battle royale. Winner is in the main event that night. Winner would be Rusev, now the championship match is a triple threat with those big men. I put the strap on Rusev if Brock doesnt resign. The problem right now is none of the heels have much heat. For a twist have the MITB case cashed in but Rollins loses which completely shocks everyone. Rollins is the corporate champ but fans arent buying him because of all of his protectors. He needs to take a step back Since I dont want to see a rematch of Cena Rusev at this point I would reverse course on the Undertaker angle. I would bring out Taker on Raw and have him give his retirement speech and then have Wyatt attack him. Cena makes the save and sets up Cena Wyatt for Mania with the retired Undertaker as the refree.
  24. You guys and Triple Hs interview with Austin have me curious about NXT now, good job
  25. Okay so hope you get this reference....What you liked was what I also liked, that stable was good. But if I were there and could have driven his career path I would have kept him off TV as a wrestler. Instead I would have had him show up on TV as a guest of Zigglers and then promoted his power lifting records as built him up as a bad ass to the viewer. No videos, no matches, just him in Zigglers corner. He wouldn't be on TV every week, only when Dolph brought him to ringside as his good buddy and friend in specific career enhancing matches. I'd have him spot show up infrequently for a few months just in his corner teasing his involvement but never delivering...eventually building his character by the announce team while saying No to him wrestling. The fans would want to see him wrestle, I would deny then that. Also in order for this to work his name would not be Big E Langston...stupid name. Then as Dolph was in a championship match we would finally see him get involved in order for him to help Dolph but keeping the idea alive he is a real bad ass, where other competitors like Cena were afraid of him and built him up as a real life monster everyone was afraid of. In the interference he would use some punch that knocked the champion out cold. I would have used him like 911 was used in ECW and how Kevin Nash was introduced with Shawn Michaels. Everyone should know his abilities, if he can't talk then he can't get over. They should have known the minute he competed he would lose steam I have to assume so I would have used him as the baddest man alive manager ever and keep him out of the ring for as long as they could have. Instead the minute he debuted he was attacking John Cena and they started his clock for expiration immediately. Regardless of if he can wrestle, the point is that he would have been best served out of the ring. Once I put him in the ring it would have been in tag matches, and had him go way over on anyone that was in his cross hairs. They could have done that, and by saying No to matches would have gained him more interest then he ever got as an in the ring worker. Once you use him as a wrestler then it opens the door for stupid characters that you mentioned above. Even turning him into a monster like Henry we should remember Henry was always a loveable teddy bear before he turned into a monster, no one thinks that Big E is a teddy bear now so even if they decided to get behind him and give him a push down the road it won't work as a bad ass monster because of how they've killed him thus far. Once you ruin a guy on TV it's nearly impossible to get him back over without a complete makeover like Bray Wyatt ex Husky Harris
