  1. Expecting a Day 2 rookie to start and play well is a big ask. There are lots of Day 1 rookies with up and down rookie seasons. Trent Williams was pretty inconsistent his first year. And who would we have signed in FA? Most of them just re-signed with their own team. Jonah Williams got the most money from someone who actually swapped teams and he's mediocre. We did a lot in Free Agency, but this team had massive holes everywhere. We sucked. There's a limit to how much you can fix in one off-season. The roster was in a sorry state after we missed so many draft picks.
  2. He really hangs onto the ball after getting walloped. Some tough hits right after he gets his hands on it.
  3. Standig is reporting we made calls about trading into the end of the 1st for Newton but didn't like the cost. So we explored trading up to the Teens for an OT and late first for Newton. We must have had a really high grade on Newton then.
  4. Really thought we'd do more trading back. Well I guess they thought value was too good to pass up.
  5. It used to look worse. This is it being all jazzed up after Snyder got ridiculed too much.
  6. Michael Hall just went. Newton is a far better prospect. I'm surprised they went in the same round let alone 2 rounds of each other.
  7. There are several players like that. Such as both corners. Yeah, we have no idea how important (or not) a good kick returner is with the kickoff overhaul.
  8. Just to clarify your statement, are you saying Jayden Daniels is worse than Howell? Even after including 5 years of control vs 2? That's a big statement.
  9. Cause we got really good value for the trade, and that was the highest Howell's value would be. If an asset is going to depreciate and isn't going to be used, then sell it.
  10. I don't think he talked to many then. Sounds like he's just regurgitating hot takes. You can watch games of Maye and not see a missed layup in them. It happens, but the issue is overblown.
  11. Was he even old enough to remember when Donovan was good with the Eagles? He was already fading fast by the time we traded for him. Fields couldn't throw on the run in college. It was an inaccurate mess. Daniels rarely does it but it looks good when he does. So that's another difference. Cause the last regime was real bad at drafting and free agency, although the latter was influenced by Dan Snyder pinching pennies during the sale. I wonder if we trade for a WR on Day 2. Several of them are disgruntled.
  12. I've heard that too, but I haven't read his foot injury poses a long term or significant risk right?
  13. Anyone else having server issues responding to this thread?
  14. My dream is both Chop and Kool-Aid are there for our picks. Still doubt either are, but at least it's more likely.
  15. Mayers was not on the level of Bowers as a prospect, he was the 3rd TE taken. And probably will bust, he was physically lacking in a lot of areas.
  16. Alright, I don't have to worry about spending excess resources on an undersized TE. (Bowers is good, but still)
  17. I would not trade up for Bowers. I know this is an unpopular opinion. But just can't do it.
  18. Are the Mannings and Belichick doing a simulcast of this? Is it streaming free anywhere?
  19. I'll still post in both threads as that one moves so damn fast and isn't as conducive to depth discussion.
  20. So much trade intrigue about moving up for a WR or a OT in the 1st. I think we should prepare for the 2nd round to not go the way people hope for our picks due to many teams reaching ahead of us.
  21. More like key trade bait. I'm assuming we'll sell Winker in 2 months.
  22. I'm still confused why Eddie Rosario is on the team. He can't hit, he can't field, he can't run the bases like the rest of the team. He's got the 2nd slowest sprint speed on the team, and the actual slowest is the catcher. He also doesn't really look interested in playing. Surely we can do better with any AAA player even if we don't want to call up James Wood right?
  23. That's #19 & #83 for #36 & #40 OverTheCap model has that as 2269 value coming in and 2315 going out. Rich Hill model has 330 coming in and 315 going out. That seems pretty fair value wise. One chart has us losing slightly, the other winning slightly. For the record, Tyler Guyton is the next pick. So do we do that trade and roll the dice on the injured Unicorn OT?
