    2) English is a Germanic language and in German, the gendered article for "the" (Der/Die/Das) is often used with names. I.e., I may say "Der Voice of Reason" rather than simply "Voice of Reason". So there is a precedent in our little branch of the language tree for this type of usage

Die Bart, Die means "The Bart, The"

The way AJ Brown totally dominated Forbes with physicality was glaring. It was a man against a boy.

Forbes plays two-dimensionally.  If he can put on a few pounds, he could actually be seen when he turns sideways.  Will be interesting to see what the many underachievers left on the roster will be able to do with proper coaching and schemes.

Daniels got asked about that in press pool, said he wanted to draw as many eyes as possible to LSU pro day so the non-Daniels/Nabers/Thomas teammates there - players not invited to combine - would have the best chance possible to get attention of scouts/etc.

It may be an excuse, but if you're one of the teammates he's referring to, you gotta like the 'tude and the 'tunity.  Dudes do get seen and noticed that way.  He could've just said, "Yeah, I'm a diva. Ya'all gonna draft me top 3 anyway, so pfffft...."

Plus Barkley is gone now as well. If we lose to that mess next year I might literally throw my remote through my TV screen. They have nothing.

That's nothing.  When the refs refused to give us the TO with 1 sec. on the clock so Moseley could nail a 55 yarder to beat Dallas at the end of 1979, people were hurling their TVs in disgust.  And that's when TVs cost a huge part of a guy's wage.

I can see a world where we talk up Howell (and bemoan his support system), including pushing the idea that we’re turning to an offensive scheme he had a lot of success in and comfort with.  Then we leak that we absolutely love MJII and also like both qbs.

Why would anyone believe this?  If we decide to run it back with Howell, even with MHJ, I think teams would be looking to play us.

I really want to know if we are bringing in a veteran QB or plan to just roll with Howell as the backup. If Maye is the pick I think it is absolutely imperative that we get a veteran (and no I do not care at all that he is friends with Sam. Sam has so much that he needs to work on aaking him to mentor/help someone else would be absurd. That would be like asking Zach Wilson to mentor someone)

What does Sam's mom look like?

Well Jerry's post game presser made it clear that they do see it.  The problem for them is they have no viable alternative. And I do not consider Trey Lance to be a viable alternative. How often has a QB draft bust actually gone on to have lasting success on another team?

    Steve Young.  https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/Y/YounSt00.htm

So the answer is "not often".

Names are funny.  What if this guy has a son and gives him the same name....He'd be Chase Senior Jr.  Be a fun jersey to have if he ever played pro sports.

In Basic Training, when speaking with cadre, we had to begin every sentence with "sergeant" and end it with "sergeant":  "Sergeant yes sergeant", etc.  I had a junior drill sergeant named "Sargent". One day my senior sergeant asked me who told me to do whatever it was I did (I forget).  I looked at him and said:  "Sergeant, sergeant Sargent sergeant".  We looked at each other like, that didn't just happen?  "Get out of my office!"

  9. So let's say Kingsbury is in the house working at 3:30 a.m.  18 hour days.  Gotta eat.  Gotta softserve.  Gotta get to and fro home (unless he does the Gibbs thing).  I assume he's gotta take care of an itch every once in awhile.  When is he sleeping?  I know it shows how tough and awesome you are not to get more than a couple hours of sleep a night, but that's not healthy, especially for your brain, and if you're the OC and your brain isn't working, well, how is that good for your team?

But that '99 season had so many great moments that it really cemented my dedication to the team. Off the top of my head, scoring 40+ on the Bears at FedEx, a really great time. I think it was Dan Wilkinson who intercepted a pass or returned a fumble for a touchdown, bumblin, stumblin all the way, you know how it goes. Loved watching Stephen Davis run the ball as well, although that first game of the season where he dominated (yet was a loss to Dallas in OT in excruciating fashion) was perhaps a harbinger of things to come–flashes of brilliance and great play marred by letdowns and crappy finishes.

1999 was like 2012 - a great season that ended ignominiously.  The team was fun to watch, had an offense, and we were finally thinking, Washington is back.  Back like Brigadoon, the mythical Scottish village that reappears from the mist every 100 years.

With all due respect, and thanks for posting this, the 1991 Redskins CRUSHED the much ballyhooed, smack-talking Bills in Super Bowl XXVI. Outclassed them in every area of football. That 91 team is one of the top teams in NFL history, totally dominant season.

Thurman Thomas couldn't find his helmet to start the game and Andre Reed body slammed his helmet onto the field during the game.  That's some bad coaching.  On the other side of the ball, well, remember folks, Tom Brady was not the first 6th round QB to be named Super Bowl MVP.

That said and to bring this back to the topic at hand - Dan Quinn - I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Bill Belichick didn't win a SB in his first head coaching stint - and only had 1 good year.  Just don't cut the punter to send a message, Dan, Tress is one of our best players.

  12. The 1991 Redskins were about as balanced as a team could get - 1st in PF, 2nd in PA, 4th in yards for (I'd wager because we got a lot of turnovers giving us short fields), 3rd in yards against, 3rd in turnovers for and against, and we thoroughly beat a Buffalo team with HOFers or HOFer candidates on both sides of the ball.

  13. I think Denzel would be a fantastic head coach.  He's already played the part on the silver screen (coaching a local high school to boot).  He's one of the greatest actors in history and as a man, he commands -- yes commands -- respect.  He would need good coordinators, but he can call "fake 23 blast with a back side George reverse" like nobody else.  Seriously, when Denzel Washington walks into the locker room, the team, to a man, will genuflect to greatness.  Don't overthink this.

Gruden has a law suit against Goodell and the NFL. So I was saying if Peters goes to Goodell and works out a deal that Gruden can come back to the NFL. Maybe Gruden drops the charges which center around who leaked his emails and he gets to come back and be coach.

Those emails, however obtained including by violating every law, convention, and treaty on Earth, are POISON to this franchise currently still scrubbing the stench of Dan Snyder.  He ain't coming here.
