Is that the hit Dexter put on Danny White, ringing his clock? If so said he was going to do it before the playoff game, and backed it up. White was never the same after that game. Monte closing in too.

Dexter didn't just "ring his clock" (one of the best mixed metaphors of all time), Dexter also tipped Hogeboom's pass that Darryl Grant picked off and high-stepped into the endzone with to seal the game.  (Well, Riggo sealed it but big DG put it out of reach.)  If he coulda just stayed off the nose candy....  What a game-changer.

Fat AH had a relentless motor before he came to us and got overpaid. He was awesome. Same with Wilkerson.

It's Wilkinson, and with a great block from D. Green he had an 88 yd pick-6 against the Bears in 1999.  Oddly, Big Daddy had 4 picks while he played for us.  For a DT, that's pretty good.  Wilkinson was ok; Stumblefield was the real problem.

    Except for . . . Doug Flutie. . . .
Some guys just take longer to develop.

To be fair, it took Flutie awhile to grow into it. . . .

(Those Flutie Flakes probably stunted his growth -- 28g carbs,13g  sugar, 1g protein.  Want to get big and strong?  Grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, extra sharp cheddar, mushrooms, onions, garlic, and wash it down with a cold Miller Lite.)

What about his athletic ability will start immediately eroding when he wakes up on his 27th birthday?

    Depends on the hangover....

That's a great video of Newton.  Unless he's got a secret dark side (and with a cute baby like that, I doubt it), there's no way he's going to slack off, not do his job, party hearty, etc.  Didn't having a kid turn things around for Sean Taylor? (RIP)

Slater is one example. I can’t name many tackles with 33 inch arms who are studs at the position in the example. Year after year, there are college tackles with short arms who the draft community pushes as tackles in the pros and, more often than not, they move inside. Alijah Vera Tucker is a great recent example of this.

Russ Grimm is even better.  "It's comin' at you, Randy"

Because you didnt add a damn thing that helps your team for 2 or 3 years. Thats why.

And paid $100,000,000.  That's a lot of zeroes not to pair it with Rome Odunze or any other force multiplier.  Literally *any* position other than QB would've improved the team they're spending a tenth of a BILLION $ on for one guy.

It's just common curtesy to thank the city hosting the event you're speaking at.  D. Green is a class act so he obviously did just that.

I really think you're looking for/trying to create something that's not there.

Yeah, I think the last guy who would ever troll/clown anybody is Darrell Green.  They called Walter Payton "Sweetness" but DG28 just personifies that word.  Check out the 1987 America's Game on the Skins; DG is one of the participants.  "They didn't know me from a chicken."  Dude is as humble as he was great.

  9. 5'9/182?  Why not just bring Darrell back outta retirement?  He's already at the draft.  That would've been hilarious.  "With the 50th pick in the 2024 draft, the Commanders select, ME?"  He couldn't wear his old #28 though, it's been retired.

I can't recall the last time I saw a team double up on OL help in round 1 and 2, but I'm sure if I dug I could find examples.

Not 1 and 2, but in 1981 we drafted May in rd 1 and Grimm in rd 3.  (Also picked up another OG later on named Darryl Grant.  He was such a bad fit for the OL that his biggest career highlight was high-stepping into the end zone as a DT with a pick-6 against Dallas to seal the victory in 1982 NFC Championship.  :->>>)   Kids (and that's too many of you here), RIGHT NOW, pull that play up on Youtube and marvel at what us Gen-Xers grew up with as Skins fans.  Note:  that same 1981 draft we drafted the guy who tipped the ball that Grant picked off -- the indomitable (and at the time illiterate) Dexter Manley.
