If a stud left tackle falls to us at #19, a can't miss guy, then we should take him. Don't mess around with it, take him. We need to bolster this offensive line instead of patching it up all the time. Lets maul teams on both sides of the ball....

That would most likely be Darrisaw or Cosmi depending on who is available at 19. I’m definitely on board with OT in the first. I don’t think there will be much left to choose from amongst the best OT’s by the time we pick in the 2nd.

  2. So who is everyone still keeping an eye on?

It seems like free safety will be someone in the draft (there are a lot of decent options throughout the rounds) or Tre Boston. Kareem Jackson from the Broncos is still available I think and a couple other guys who could be decent like Xavier Woods, Tartt, or Gibson.

I’m not sure who is out there as far as TE, but hopefully we can draft one of Friermuth, Jordan, or Tremble.

We still have a couple LB’s in FA to target like KJ Wright, Eric Wilson, and BJ Goodson. Then in the draft it’s Zaven Collins or JOK in the first or Cox and Jamin in the second, or Moses, Werner, or Groening in the third.

I find Isaiah Wright to be an interesting player.  6’2 220 to Gibson’s 6’2 228 coming out.  Experience as a KR, wr, and some running/wildcat reps.  Couldn’t find a 40 time, but projected in the upper 4.4s.  His speed, quickness and versatility make him more intriguing to me than guys like Sims, AGG and Harmon.

Wonder if we could trade Collins next year.  Probably not given his high salary (what a ridiculous contract that was/is), but with no guaranteed money (I think), maybe we could squeeze a 6th or 7th?

I could see earning comp picks next year (for the 2023 draft) - I assume our cap will be devoted to re-signing our own.

Did you see this link? Jeez, ESPN has his 40 time listed as 4.8, that's horrible. He's definitely not a blazer, but I didn't think he was that slow.

  4. Man I hope someone signs a whole rack of our UFA and we end up with some comp picks for next year.

Free Safety has historically been a depressed market the last few years so we still might manage to swing Anthony Harris on a decent deal. I hope we can also land KJ Wright at some point.

Should be fun to see who we end up signing at sun-down.

How did Jackson III do against our Tony McClaurin this season?

He handled Terry quite well and had a few PBU’s on him. I was impressed. Dude can get handsy but he is every bit the kind of cover corner we’ve been looking for. He’s super sticky in coverage and does best when mirroring his guy step for step. He’s not a cushion and bail kind of guy. Much better than Darby when it comes to making a play on the ball and he’s good in run support as well. He’s our CB1 for the next 3 years.

One problem with that. Anything other issue; you will have to overcome filibuster and moderate/conservative Dems.

Infrastructure is probably what they will use reconciliation again for but that will be it.

All you will have is show votes because Joe won’t be able to pass much of anything else.

Stacey Abrams brought up on Rachel Maddow yesterday, the idea of modifying the fillibuster rather than doing away with it altogether. Like there are now exceptions for judicial appointments, we can add a voting rights exception that allows HR 1 and SR 1 to bypass that 60 vote threshold.

  7. JP Finlay on his podcast said both Ron and Scherff want to get a deal done still and this is by no means like the Kirk cousins situation when we tagged him twice. He threw out a possibility of maybe $15million AAV but that might be out the window now that he’s making $18 million on the tag.

  8. I actually think now is a good time to spend on a top flight outside receiver like Golladay because in 2 years when we pay Terry that initial contract will be much easier to get out of and the cap will be higher. We are at or near the league bottom in cap dollars invested to our wide receiver group and can shore that up while we look for future replacements in the draft.

I also strongly believe that we will get a deal done with Scherff and that first year cap hit will be mitigated.

  9. Yup, I’m sincerely glad for them that they were able to rely on Tyler Perry giving them a house and a security detail and Princess Diana squirreled away money for Harry to use. I don’t get why you’re being so salty about this? I’d get not empathizing with them if they were assholes, but that’s not the case here. And money doesn’t make a person invulnerable from suffering. To think otherwise is myopic.
