well, how you 'say' things does matter...i had been more inclined to sympathize with your critics becuase of how you expressed things...word choice is a blade that cuts in all directions so i try to make any slicing and dicing i do to myself or others intentional :P

Probably, but I think sometimes choice words have their place.  In the end, you agreed with me, you just didnt like the person saying it (me).  Which is the intended affect.  I dont want you to like having to fight dirty, and I want you to associate people who call for this with a negative feeling -- for later, after the victory, so that we remember to re-set the atmosphere to more civil conditions.  But, thats later.  The first step to fighting dirty, is to realize that you're getting dirty.  Youre not supposed to like it, but you gotta recognize it.  Remember the distaste, once you achieve victory, and become something better once victorious, God-willing.

Why not?  I dunno whats considered so 'holy' about the number 9.  Or any number, for that matter.  I mean, at some point, too judges is just going to be inefficient, and guess what, we can reduce that number if that happens.  Nothing has to be set in stone, the only constant in this world is change.

Sorry, but this is loser talk and keyboard jockey **** regarding morals and war.

You're basically saying we're too weak or incapable to thread the needle and fight back without retaining character and trust.

We can be better than that and I get that it's hard to see that threading the needle process in many dems, because they have no edge, but some of the younger ones and the constituency do or are at least learning that they need to have one.

There is difference between having no edge, having a healthy edge, and being a person with an edge but no character or integrity.

Now, I expect everybody to be guided by some sort of internal ethical compass.  I actually have a pretty strong one,  God-willing, and its mostly drawn from my religion.  I dont care where you draw yours from, but I strongly suggest that it be based upon reality, experience, or the experiences of others.  The last thing it should be based on is some Aaron Sorkin-like fantasy, or whatever the Republicans are suggestings Democrats should be like.

Tired of watching the Democrats show up ready for a fight, while Republicans show up ready for war.  Aint no morals in war, kid.

By any means, necessary.  Hopefully, the more moral side will win.  But lets recognize the moral b.s. for what it is, when it comes to politics.

  7. What if Biden wins the presidency, but the Republicans manage to hold on to a slim majority in the Senate?  I see this as a very possible, if not probably outcome.  So does Mitch.  Soo, all the warnings about stacking Judiciary are pretty much meaningless anyways.

To be quite honest with you, Im not really sure what Democrats are complaining about.  Republicans were under no Constitutional obligation to confirm Garland, and they are under no obligation to wait now.  As matter of fact, why would they?  Because what?  They promised?  Grow the **** up.

A question I haven’t seen answered, but needs to be answered by leadership, is what’s the acceptable response to a riot.  Is the right response to a riot simply stepping back and letting them burn and loot?  Anything more than that includes violence, as there is no such thing as stopping a mob from doing anything that will be entirely peaceful.

We’re seeing democratic mayors struggle with this.  If they do nothing their community hates them. if they do something the protestors (not just rioters) hate them.  It’s an election year, this is going to keep coming up.

Cant really control riots, if the anger is enough, any one riot thats put down will lead to an angrier riot the next.  Lets not go down the Syria path.  We have to prevent them from happening in the first place.  Thats whole point of a riot.  Its to give powers-that-be, a warning that they are not really as in-control as they think they are.  When enough portions of the citizenry would rather just burn the mother****er down then continue with the status quo, the powers-that-be are supposed to get the signal that "they arent asking for change anymore", or as Chapelle quoted, better listen to these streets, cause after that, "aint nothing but rat-a-tat-tat."

Ok, I just read the article this map is attached to and came across a tremendous red flag.

This data was compiled by totaling the apparel sales across various areas. That means it is probably unwise to extrapolate real conclusions from it.

We are in the middle of a re-brand. We have a temporary brand name. It is not unlikely that a lot of people (I myself am one of them) are holding off on purchases until we have an actual name. Even those that do spend, can possibly be spending less while we are in transition. I would expect to see a regression in sales like this given our situation.

Maps like this comes out every time this year. They usually include DC. Here is one from 2019 that has some good information and compiled in a similar way for those that are interested. Obviously, this one is not effected by a re-brand initiative

    https://seatgeek.com/tba/articles/where-do-nfl-fans-live-mapping-football-fandom-across-the-u-s/

I’ll also throw out that this map will look a lot different next year when we introduce a new brand and ride a spike in sales as a result. It’s not as pretty as it used to be, but there is good reason not to get too worked up over this one.

Dude your reaching. Snyder has destroyed the fanbase.  This graph is highly believable, and lines up with what we see with our own eyes, from how empty Fedex is when we play a small market team, to how its only full when is full of opposing team fans of a large-market team.  Its so painfully obvious, that the only question I have, is why NFL owners dont appear to give a ****.  Its affecting their bottom line.  They should be jumping on the chance to get rid of this guy.  And yet, instead, they make excuses for him.  Just how many skeletons are these guys hiding.  Is Dan's behavior really that normal and widespread amongst NFL owners?  Youre all billionaires, ****, creep out on someone who aint working for ya already -- or go buy a strip club.   Its not that hard.

Forget about those guys, we aint even got any depth behind the scrubs that we've hoisted into starting positions!  We cant afford to lose anybody, especially our scrubs.   If Christian goes down, Moses goes down, Martin goes down, what do we even have as an option to fill in for the guys who are 2nd-string caliber starters we have?  We're one injury away from Shar Pourdanesh's son.

Durham police officers accused of pulling guns on boys playing tag

The Durham Police Department is investigating an incident last week in which several officers are accused of drawing their guns on three boys playing outside an east Durham apartment complex and handcuffing one of the boys.

    .

Okay, its the 21st century, well into it, so we have the technology to place a sensor on the holster of cop's guns.  Every time they draw their guns, the sensor should transmit a signal with time/place/officer information back to the police station.  Then, cops should be required to submit a full report, explaining why they felt the need to draw their gun, and how this was in line with their training regarding threat assessment and force escalation.  Cops hate paperwork, so if you demand a one page report, every single time -- I guarantee you cops will start thinking twice before drawing their guns.  Simple solutions, people, until we can train a better police force.  Any police station that consistently has an discrepancy between "tripped holster signals" and  "drawn gun reports" should have its commanding officers demoted, and all members submitted to basic police training in appropriate force escalation.

If you force cops to justify, in a full written report, why they draw their gun, every single time they draw their gun ... eventually they will reflexively stop to think before drawing their gun, and ask themselves is this really worth it.  We will train them with more evolved techniques after they prove to be worthy of more evolved techniques.

Oh and as another nice feature, the signal from the holster could also automatically force a cop's bodycam to be turned on, and a record kept of the following 5 minutes of footage.  This footage should be automatically available to the public. The Public's gonna have to do the job of overseeing cops until they get their **** in order, if they ever do.

I think that’s unlikely. It’s more likely that many of the same people who support #metoo also support other causes that are sliiiiightly more in the spotlight right now. There’s kind of a lot going on in this country. That doesn’t make any issue more or less important, obviously, we’re just at a pivotal moment in history in regards to social movements, and right now the conduct of a sports team is probably not on a lot of people’s radar in general.

You may have a point, I guess when you have big orange fish to fry, everything else takes a back seat.  But I still think the fact they are cheerleaders has something to do with the muted outcry, maybe not from #metoo, but at least the general public....

  13. The NFL seems to be taking the position to just wait and see how things play out.  THey have the luxury of doing that, mostly because the national outcry on this story has been limited.  I been pretty disappointed in the #metoo movement's lack of response in this case.

And I think I know why, and without derailing this thread completely, it has a lot too do with bias against women who are in professional roles that feminists traditionally turn their nose up at.   I think Ill leave it at that.

It is unspeakably hurtful to black people.  To many AA's, the BLM movement is basically saying, "Comeon yall, we're trying to give you a little credit here, we know that you at least think our lives matter, right?  Right??  Right????"  The passive-aggressive denial of the response, "All Lives Matter," is such a **** statement, thatd Id almost have more respect for them if they just said, "No."  Like they think Im dumb enough not realize that All Lives Matter is a No response anyhow.

Stay, complain and **** with us....until he is gone.

We tried that.  It didnt work, as is clearly obvious.  Do you know how die-hard you had to be as a fan, to put up with the last two decades of the on-field product.  But we dealt with that, and stuck it through.  However, for me and many others, cheerleader-gate is just too much to deal with.  It's not just embarassing or disappointing (like the on-field performance), its flat out repulsive.  Its becoming almost a moral obligation for anybody with respect for women, and a general sense of morality  -- to simply stop supporting this product.

Still, its all irrelevant to me  Does anyone really think that a sane man would go try to retrieve a knife, when facing multiple officers with guns drawn?  He was gonna flee.  He thought, no way theyre gonna kill me just for running.  He, tragically, gave them much more credit than they were due.  And that's sadly what many people miss as the poignant plea behind, "Black Lives Matter", slogans. Basdically, like saying "come on white people, we know you're not THAT heartless, you at least acknowledge that our lives matter, right?  Right??  Right???"  Its stunning that the response would be a passive-aggressive denial like "All lives matter."  As Dave Chapelle said, I hope people will listen to these protests, cause after that, aint nothing but rat-a-tat-tat.

Ultimately, the story is about the Kenosha PD and their incompetence/complicity.

    1.  They totally botched the Jacob Blake incident.  They could’ve easily picked him up on his warrant at the house later...or the next day.  He wasn’t some dude on a crime spree.  Instead they capped him in broad daylight.

    2.  Then they compounded the error by inviting “Teenage Nazi” into the mix.  With predictable result.

They brought economic ruin onto the city with their idiocy.  And they’re knee deep in blood.

Im not a big Defund The Police guy, but the Kenosha PD is a painful example of why that phrase moves the needle.

The movement would gain a lot more traction if they termed the movement, "Re-appropriation of funds for public safety and protection."  Not quite as catchy, but easier to get a broad consensus on this, I believe, than simply defund the police -- which does not imply a or identify a solution, and therefore appears to invite chaos.

Y'all need to watch more MSNBC. It's been talked about for 2 days.

Correction -- thats where they re-planted the knife that they found in the glovebox/center compartment.  Who the **** drives around with a knife in the floorboard?

It was probably too difficult, given the amount of attention by onlookers, given that Blake's body was right underneath that door, to quickly plant anything in the driver's side door.  The knife still had to be somewhere close accessible, close-by,  for the story to make sense.  Floorboard was the only option for them to plant it, so thats where it was found.

I agree. The police should have figured out a way to detain him without resorting to deadly force.

I do think, however, Blake could have acted in a more appropriate manner. That's all I'm saying. Would you agree?

Why is it soo important for you to find some blame in the victim?  Its a rhetorical question for you, that most of us already suspect we know the answer to.

It says a lot about someone to see the tape, know the consequences to Blake and all the fallout, and still come out and basically just be like, "But wait, wait, I just wanna make sure that we all agree on one thing -- justice must ensure that Mr.  Blake is at least charged for failure to comply with a lawful order.  Thats all I care about...".

I know thats not exactly what you said, but do you have any idea how incredibly grotesque you look, when you focus on the victim's' imperfections?  Stop, just stop.  Seriously, I advise you, just stop.  it makes you look like the guy who says, "Im not saying she deserved to be raped nearly to death, but can we all at least agree her blouse was a bit revealing?  Hmmm?"
