  1. Just going to add the comments from Nick Shook on the article from NFL.com. For those who keep on saying he is just a 5th rounder pay attention to the bolded part: Howell's career appeared destined for such an opportunity, at least prior to his final season at North Carolina. Howell was regarded among the 2022 draft's top signal-callers entering the 2021 collegiate season, but a difficult year for the Tar Heels saw him fall from Day 1 or 2 consideration into the fifth round, where Washington selected him 144th overall and sat him behind Wentz and Taylor Heinicke for all but one game in 2022. Howell could have completed his entire rookie season without registering more than a blip on the NFL radar, but his showing in a 26-6 win over Dallas in Week 18 -- in which Howell completed 11 of 19 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown and one interception -- earned him enough attention to prompt Wednesday's question regarding his standing in Washington entering 2023. It seems as if Rivera is willing to give the unproven Howell the first chance to earn a starting job in 2023. This doesn't mean Washington won't be active in seeking another option at the position, especially considering the veteran talent expected to become available in March. But for now, at least, Howell is likely starting the new year as Washington's top quarterback.
  2. I think it was Kyle Shanahan who wanted Beck and traded for him instead of keeping Colt Brennan (who I thought was better than Beck). At the time I said it was stupid to do that since why would the Ravens trade for him with one our own player. They were eager to get rid of him. Not sure what Shanahan saw in him. He was so meh - even meh is giving him too much credit.
  3. Last year was 6k plus. I would imagine the cost of living in AZ is less than CA.
  4. Not half hour but Ginny and Georgia is good one to watch. Here are some more and not all are 30 mins as some are 40 mins. These are all on Netflix. 5. Well if you look at the context of where we were at before the draft it made sense to not pick a QB that high. Traded for Wentz and TH was the backup. Now if they were not able to get a vet QB then they would have picked Howell (since they really liked him) with our 1st round pick. Sure no Dotson. But since he was still sitting there, a QB who was projected to go 1st or 2nd round it made sense to get him. Now people will counter that with, well 31 other teams passed on him as well, also context matters here as well. The draft was loaded with other positions instead since it was not very good QB class. Did we get lucky? I would like to think so. Time will tell. @FootballZombie We have done the vet route for the last 25+ years and it is not working. Time is now Howell and not pay yet another vet to come here and just be meh. Carr is better than Wentz but the price is not. We still need players to protect the QB and that won't happen if we put all of our eggs, once again, in the QB basket. Not a winning formula as demonstrated this year. And yes if a QB is selected in the 1st round the price and expectation is higher so that is why starting Howell is such a no brainer. There is no pressure of expectations when it comes to cost vs. value. But Howell has not really been named the starter yet though. That is just the preferred option right now since that is all we have right now.
  6. But teams do that all of the times when they select a QB in the 1st round. Howell gets dinged for not being selected in the 1st round. By the way this would be the 2nd season for Howell with the team and not first. So maybe in Howell position this is exactly what you want to do. Build a team around a semi-rookie on a transitional year, assuming the sale still goes through. And if he is not the guy then draft one next year.
  7. Pretty much how this super bowl is going to feel with them iggles in it.
  8. I wonder if this will effect/impact the viewership of a new show coming out. An account holder might not watch the new show but maybe someone in their family would who is a shared user. I would think a lot of good shows might get canned since not many people are watching it and will be deemed not popular.
