In the end, a 1st rounder taken in the 2nd round, I think means a trade MAY be on the horizon for Allen.  We need a starting OT on one with potential by trade or a vet player released.  Allen may be traded to a team that we can do a swap with 1 for one or a player and a draft pick.  Minny needs an DT desperately!  They didn't address it in the draft.

Tell me about a few of the player swap type of trades that happened recently, please.

Why does your imagination immediately want to hurt the team, by deconstructing one of our actual strengths?

He was so consistent for us towards the end of last season. I can understand how he's not a lock as a starter (which would be totally understandable) but I'd be surprised if he didn't make the roster. He's a great return man, if nothing else.

He's old, not great at anything and fumbles. It doesn't matter how great he tapped danced on the deck of the titanic.

There's not much ahead of him at WR and that's the most he has going for him.

Can't take much away from interviews and/or the one Rookie minicamp, but there is something about Luke that tells me he will outperform his draft position. Maybe it's wishful thinking considering his bloodlines, but I like that he's getting early reps with Jayden. I could see there being some good chemistry there.

One thing that's kinda interesting considering Luke isn't even that tall (6'2", I believe), he is the tallest of all our WRs except for that UDFA from UGA. Did I read somewhere where B Mitch thinks he'll end up starting this year over Crowder?

Crowder isn't a lock to make the roster.

Last question on Newton since I realize this is the wrong thread - do you think he actually sees the field this year? (not based on skill, based on health)

Dude has "the next Aaron Donald" type of potential and should have easily gone top 15. If he doesn't play a snap this year, who cares.

    Anyway.....

I loved this pick and was kind of a pound the table pick for me. Super hard worker, tough guy possession WR type of guy is something I've wanted for a very long time. I think he'll move up the depth chart fairly quick. Having guys like this on the field move chains consistently.

It's Wilkinson, and with a great block from D. Green he had an 88 yd pick-6 against the Bears in 1999.  Oddly, Big Daddy had 4 picks while he played for us.  For a DT, that's pretty good.  Wilkinson was ok; Stumblefield was the real problem.

You're right. I confused the two of them. I remember it because I'm old. Coincidentally, that's also why I forget them.  :ols:

He possibly could have, if he took care of his body. He’s talked multiple times about how he didn’t really “get” that aspect of being a pro until it was too late. I always resented him a little for that, even though it’s his career that was shortened. But he could have had a shot at being a great with more longevity. He basically missed the entire TE revolution the NFL went through in the second half of Witten’s career. He was a little before his time, in a way

I love that Sinnott is kind of a better Cooley clone.
