  1. I have alot of respect for Andy Reid, even though he fleeced us on the Mcnabb trade, and I feel bad for him after all he has done for the Eagles for the players to go out and lay down on his last game like they did today. I've always hated the other NFC east coaches but I don't know why but I never had that kind of feeling about Reid. I think that he is a good coach and I'm glad that he is getting out of the NFC east. I hope San Diego hires him and I think he will do a great job there. It's just awful though that his players couldn't have put up a better effort today for him.

He plays guys hurt, he never went anywhere without McNabb, never gave Dmac the weapons he should have, except when he brought in Owens, who he couldn't control and then was the only team in the league to offer a POS of a human a job, which then ended his. Don't even get me started on his own family life, that he put football over. I'm sad he is leaving the eagles and I think it's funny his team quit.

  2. Nothing says "unemployed" quite like you boyfriend's name tattoed on your forehead.

Oh and the Hello Kitty wins for the "I'm angry at the world so I'm gonna disfigure myself" award.

I think I know that kid. He is a really awkward 23 year old. Nice as could be. I think his name is adam. He just had a baby with his girlfriend. He never talks very much.

  3. Haha, sorry, I may have worded my question oddly. Obviously for the car to run safely and economically, I'd need to get it replaced. But, how costly are these types of repairs usually? I paid $1000 for the car and hate the idea of putting a ton into it.
Swapping tanks is pretty easy. $100 ain't a bad price.
  4. I had a gas leak in my fuel tank (must have hit a nasty bump on a construction road), so a buddy mechanic of mine repaired it with an epoxy kit meant for the job. Was driving home from work yesterday, left the car on to go into 7-11, came back out and looked under to see gas leaking out like a faucet.

Sounds like I need a new fuel tank. Dude said he found one for $100. Is it worth it to get this replaced? I drive a 1993 toyota Corolla...

Yes, dear god yes. Do you think leaking gasoline is safe for you? Plus, that **** is expensive.

  5. Yeah, spread carb cleaner around the gasket when it's happening. If the idle clears up then you have your answer.

    Alright, thanks a lot.

I have answered a ton of questions in this thread and it's been nice to be able to get an answer when I needed it. Thanks SS.

  6. too much of that salty sea air! :silly:
    No such thing
Most likely an intake manifold gasket (or manifold) that is leaking air into the engine. Second thought would be a failing idle air control motor.

Idle air control motor is kind of what I was thinking. I am suppose to work on somebodies car, but I've been stupid busy at a new job and don't have time to mess with it. How would I know if it's the manifold? Just spray carb cleaner around it like a vacuum leak?

Parasites often alter their host's behaviour or appearance, but Cymothoa exigua goes one further - it is the only parasite known to replace an entire organ. Its unfortunate host is typically the rose spotted snapper, which it enters through the gills and lodges itself at the back of the mouth. It hooks its claws at the base of the tongue and interrup

ts the blood flow, consuming it instead. Due to the lack of blood the tongue atrophies and falls off, where the isopod parasite attaches itself to the remaining stub. It then "becomes" a functional tongue for the fish, able to be moved as the fish would have moved its original tongue.

Like most cymothoid isopods, C. exigua is a hermaphrodite. In one study females were only found in the mouth, whereas males could be found in the gills and the mouth (and in the mouth they were clinging to females, suggesting copulation). A small proportion of extremely unlucky fish were found with females as the tongue and males simultaneously occupying the gills. Despite the "organ-replacement" part, it doesn't appear C. exigua has other adverse effects on the fish.

In case you were wondering (and we're sure it crossed your mind at some point), C. exigua does not affect humans. That said, don't pick one up - they deliver quite a nip.

The future of farming might very well be up. With urban populations increasing and the reality that agriculture is stretched to its current limits of production, it is clear that we must find innovative new ways to produce food. We are also facing the issue of food miles, the distance that food currently travels from farm to plate and all the energy that’s needed for those distribution networks.

A Swedish-American company, Plantagon, was recently awarded the 2012 SACC New York-Deloitte Green Award for its innovative design of a 12-story triangular urban farm. This building, which broke ground last February, will be one of the tallest farms in the world once construction is completed.

Inside the Plantagon structure, plants will travel on tracks from the bottom floor up to the top and back to take advantage of optimum sunlight and make harvesting easier and more efficient. Plantagon plans to sell the produce at nearby farmers markets, minimizing food miles, and they will lease office space in the building for additional revenue.

They also plan to reduce operating energy use by creating biogas from the building’s own organic garbage. Down the line they are exploring the concept of a Planta-car – a vehicle that could run on the building’s organic compost.

This past July, the company expanded their reach into Asia, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tongi University in Shanghai to partner on research related to town-planning issues.

have been having a problem with lint accumulating on different clothing when we line dry them. I researched the problem and learned that this often comes from a clogged filter in the washing machine. The suggested remedy is a cup of white vinegar run through a cycle every month. Now I knew that vinegar was good for coffee pots but I didn’t translate that to other appliances.

    - Lower your dependency on oil, chemicals and plastic and save a ton of money.
