To this day I'm genuinely curious who's brilliant idea it was to put a 6'0 170lb rookie CB who excels in zone coverage in one-on-one man coverage against a 6'1 225lb WR who is one of the elite NFL players at the position...and then was surprised by the results.
I'm still a bit dubious about Forbes, but he was absolutely railroaded by incompetent coaching.
I swear most of our coaching staff thought they were going to be the ones to get that super high draft pick to use.

Forbes was thrown out on a sinking island in the same way that Howell was. This year I doubt we put Forbeson AJ Brown and leave Butler single high. That was criminally bad play calling. We have small opportunistic speedy corners. I bet we'll see a lot of cover 3, with one safety sticking around the middle occasionally blitzing, but covering the hashmarks deep, to keep WRs in front of them and allow the corners to attack under the route.
We should also finally have an actual pass rush in Quinns defense.

I see Ekeler having a lot of 5 run/5 catch games and not much more. BRob is going to be the feature back and closer to 20 carry/5 catch games, while CRod has 10 carry games straight up the middle.

I was a big Forrest fan in ‘22. Some nice hits/tackles, but also some really nice grabs off deflections by St Juste. That hustle play to get deep on his INT vs Philly (sorry bro) was impressive as well. He looks like the odd man out now (ditto Davis), but I think these guys will have a role carved out for them - Forrest in 3 safety sets (though I’m guessing Hampton will get a look there as well), and Davis in base D and 2 linebacker sets on passing downs. And of course they’ll provide quality depth in case of injury.
Edit: I really like our top 3 guys at both positions and then the additions of Hampton/Magee as understudies.
I'm not an Eagles fan bro. I only cheer for them after our season is done, around late september.
This year hopefully I don't have to do that any more.

I still can't believe Wagner is on this team. That's just insane to me.
Signing Wagner, Luvu and Chinn is going to be a ton of fun to watch. I really like Martin, too and think he'll be a massive upgrade to Butler.
I'm interested to see how DeFo and Davis do in this offense.

Giving your number to a rookie is not exactly a vote of confidence.
Two man enter, one man leave.

I think Dotson just had a case of the Sophomore blues. He was solid in his rookie season. I would expect a nice jump in productivity from him this season.

I honestly think it was just bad coaching, low moral and knowing none of this was going anywhere. Guys like Terry, who can see the writing on the wall and play hard anyway, are rare. Not that its a good excuse, mind you. He cant do it again. But thats what it looked like to me.
Y'all could be right, who knows. Seems like JD5 and LMC are having a pretty solid connection though. I don't think it's likely, but it wouldn't surprise me.
