  1. Yes I too want to see Ron and JDR gone but I was under the impression that this season was for an evaluation of what we have. We have a young QB so realistically there should have been no Super Bowl aspersions. I thought RR had 2 years left on his contract after this year and I am guessing 3-4 mill a year. Do you really want to pay him that kind of bread to sit by his pool in So Cal for 2 1/2 years? I assume the new owner has his people working on replacements as we speak. We have been putting up with this kind of play for years, what is another 3/4 of a season. Looks bad when a new owner takes over and fires everyone right away.

On the field decisions and results aside, has any draft pick in the Riv-era ;) had a consistent impact? There's been flashes here and there, but no sustained contributers.

Just all around awful stretch of drafting. Chalk it up to remnants of the Snyder era.

Josh needs to nail his first round of front office hires and get some good talent evaluators in here.

This is right on. Putting a good team on the field is the result of good drafting and this has been our problem for the last 10 years. We passed on 2 real good NFL caliber QBs to take a pass rusher that does not rush the passer. We take a LB just because he is fast but has very little experience or  LB instincts. We pass on a CB that every draft expert in the world ranked top 3 and we take a bean pole who cannot cover or tackle. Every good receiver he has to cover gets their carrier high stats against him. How about picking up Wentz after he was canned by not one but two teams. How long has RR been here, 4 years I think. Is our team any better? We just got crushed by a winless team, on our home field, in front of the whole country. This is an embarrassment and something should be done NOW before this disgrace is allowed to continue. I feel sorry for the new owner laying out 6 billion for this dumpster fire.

  3. Think one of the problems is because a lot of us wanted Gonzales and when he fell to us we were expecting the team to draft him. When we picked Forbes lots of us were poised off. Now Forbes looks like a 3rd round draft choice instead of a high 1st. Then we see Witherspoon on Monday night light it up and we are stuck with up to now looks like a guy, Forbes, who is not a NFL corner. Very difficult to figure out how this current coaching staff comes up with the guys they pick with their first round choices over the last few years.

You left out Mike McDaniel whoes team just scored 70 points on the Broncos. So many our assistant coaches from Shanny era are head coaches and one of them even won a SB. It hurts to even think about this. :(

Yes and add to the lousy field coaching just watch Tua and Herbert play QB while we have CY bull rushing upfield to nowhere to get no one. After last Sunday I can’t wait to see Ron get canned. We have 3rd and 7 on their 20. They are rushing 4 and dropping 7. We have a running QB. So instead of splitting the 2 DTs and running for a 1st down we call a 20 yd pass by a rook QB, having a bad day, into double coverage into the end zone for an int. WTF are you kidding me.

Any combination of players is better than what we drafted.  Literally any.  A computer AI system would have drafted better than Ron.

I realize the top o-line were gone by 16. But we could have picked a 10 year franchise TE in Kincaid or Mayer.  Unsteady we took 2 small defense backs who will probably get beat up and won't sign here long term.  Bad draft Ron.

Agree with this post. Our drafting  team sat on their hands and watched Pitt move up to take the last best OT when anyone with any sense knew the top 5 OT would be gone by 16 so a move up was called for but we did nothing. Then we draft an undersized corner and dollars to donuts Gonzo ends up a better player than Forbes, my opinion. Then we wonder why Pitt has won for the last 20 years while we stunk. They know how to draft and we don’t, period.

  6. Don’t hate the pick but I would rather have Gonzo. What bothers me more was the the Jets and us wanted the last OT Jones, and we sat on our hands and let the Steelers swoop in and trade up and take him away from us. After we took Forbes the Pats wasted no time in taking Gonzo. That is why the Steelers and Pats win and we don’t. They take the best players period. Think the Steelers gave up a 4th to trade up. Bargain as they now have a OT for 10 years and a 4th to them is nothing. Good organizations know what to do.

Wentz trade is the 2nd worst trade in franchise history in my book, Paul Krause trade will always be #1 as worst trade in franchise history

Thanks for reminding me about that nightmare trade where we lost the all time NFL carrier interception leader and one of my boyhood idols. Many on this board never saw Paul Krause play but he was a ball hawk for sure.

It's bad but probably not the worst.

If it was for a first then maybe.

Trading away a Hof cb for Portis and a 2nd or even the Duckett trade was as bad or worse. trading all those picks for Rg Knee was definitely worse.

    Oh and McNuggett.

We were going to loose him anyway as he wanted to go play back home in Denver. Worse trade ever was RG3.

It is malpractice if this team does not tag Payne. I am feeling confident that, at the very minimum, they get a 2 and a Day 3 pick if they trade him and I feel oddly confident a 1st round pick is a real possibility, especially if it is a mid to late 1st

You can tag Payne but he still has to sign it. By the way, what are we going to do with Cam Curl, let him walk too.

I would move on from Payne and Sweat at this point.

Move on and not get anything for them? Why did this happen? Why didn’t we have Payne locked up last year? Same crap over and over and getting tired of it. Our O line sucked this year and you watch the 49s and you see T Williams killing it. You see Kirk C throwing TD passes in Miny. So I guess next season we will see Payne playing for the Seahawks. Can someone please explain this to us?

If I am the GM I am trying to trade Payne although last year would have been better, that is if we have someone to replace him already here. Having  2 DT making top money is not nec.  Now he will want top dollar from us and whoever is interested. I want at least a mid 1st and a mid 2nd. I would use the pics on the TE from ND and use the 2 nd on a Guard.

You have to think ahead when you draft 4 D linemen with high #1 pics in a 4 year period. I would now try to unload Sweat and or CY before they kill us with demands. What would you have on the D line, 4 guys getting 15mil a year each?

  11. Hated to see the Giants win yesterday but they will get what is coming to them in the next few weeks. Almost worth it to see Kirk loose esp with that comeback bid at the end, throw a 3 yard pass completion when it is 4th and 8. So glad we let him walk. Perfect time to go in the office and ask for a raise. Did he ever win a playoff game?

Rivera I think slam dunk is back unless a new owner happens fast.  Keim in an article said the soonest it could be is late March.

Ride with Rivera for a year and then chase McVay.  Looks like McVay wants to take a season or two off.  But a new owner-new beginnings, etc -- might entice McVay to come back.

Sounds good. No sense paying a guy millions of dollars to sit by his pool.

Because I’m going to Paris with my girlfriend for two weeks on Tuesday and won’t watch the last two games. :D

    Merry Xmas, y’all!

Ah Paris. You will not be disappointed. Hope the weather is warm enough so you can walk around. Give Ms. Mona Lisa a kiss for me.

This is a touch disingenuous though. Our D gave up 13. Our O gave up 7 and a fumble in the red zone gave up another 3.

Also, if you tell me a D holds a team to 13 I’m saying you should have won the game. The nats ran the ball down our throat after the TH fumble in the 4th quarter and kicked a FG that put them up by 8. If our D stopped them with a 3 and out then we would have been able to go ahead with a TD and  we would have had plenty of time to do it in.

  15. 22 hours ago, Captain James said:

Right? I mean, for as good as the D is "supposed" to be, they didn't really make much of an impact whatsoever against the 2022 Giants of all teams. Come on man.

Still, they're not even in the top 3 reasons for why we lost.

I see them in the top 3 of reasons we lost. They let the nats roll 97 yards for a TD and I think that set some kind of record for Christs sake. We had them backed up against their goal line and we did nothing. The nats attacked the QB when they had us in the same position and it resulted in a TD for them. Only reason we are not complaining about the D is because of the hose job our offense received from the zebras at the end of the game. Play after play we made the nat QB look like Tom Brady in that drive.

I am getting tired of Rivera say the same thing every week.  Look, Heinicke is in there because supposedly his mobility is supposed to aid the O-line (it hasn't that  much) and because he is supposed to know the offense extremely well.  The way he is missing reads and making bad decisions, it sure doesn't seem like he knows the offense that well.

The reasons for keeping him in there are running thin.  The cons are outweighing the pros.

Go back and look at WENTS play when he was in the pocket when we lost what 4 games straight.

So, anyone think there should be a quarterback change?

Last game I think we were 1 for 13 on 3rd down and when that happens the problem is the QB so a change would not be a bad idea. If we were not hosed by the refs at the end of the game and TH got us a 2 pt conversion to tie and then drove us to a win I would stay with TH. Problem was refs decided for that not to happen. Only other problem is that the guy who will replace him is not very good this year and you are playing a real good defense. Glad it is RR decision and not mine.

  17. Personally I feel Wentz is not washed up. Last year he threw 27 TD for the COLTS but he needs a good Oline period as he looked like a sitting duck to me with the Oline we had in the beginning of the year. Very few QB can succeed throwing the ball with a defender in their face as we all know. TH has his faults but for now, with this line, he gives us the best chance to win and RR knows this or he would make the change as CW is a better thrower than TH. Back in the day I remember GHA saying that Sonny was a better thrower than BK but for some reason the team responds and plays better for Kilmer. Seems like this is like the same situation we have now. If a better QB does not magically appear this off season I would like to see us shore up the Oline and give Wentz another shot with TH as back up. I have memories of Wentz getting sacked like crazy and overthrowing receivers in the beginning of the year as he was rushed beyond belief and that would not change with the Oline we have now. We have a good D and running game let’s see how far that takes us because I have seen some nice long time consuming drives with TH at QB so I say go with the guy with the hot hand.
