Nats steal two in Houston and suddenly the sky is falling because they lost one at home.  Did anybody REALLY think the Nats were going to sweep Houston before this series?  Let’s give them a little credit!

This is a fair post. But it's baseball. Sometimes a game just doesnt go right. It happens. No way anyone was expecting a sweep in the series regardless.

Correct, they may lose this one but to some of the commentary being 3 runs down in the 6th, you’d think it was a foregone conclusion.  Think this squad would have earned a little more heart from their fanbase

Cabrera @ 2B & Howie DH was expected.  Zimm sliding to 7th in the order & Robles 9th you have to really like.

Ladies and gents, it’s really happening and about to go down.

They aren't selling public tickets this year

Your only chance is third party sites

I purchased tickets yesterday and most of them are gone. Sorry ES folk.

There are tickets still available throughout the park for each game.

Each game has ~10-12 sections sold out

I ate a piece of ****ing cheesecake this morning for breakfast because I can!  That’s what kind of **** happens when you win the pennant.

Lol, atta baby!  Stayed at the Intercontinental at the Wharf and had raw oysters and soft crabs for breakfast.

Also, American Idol auditions.  Pffft. Be quiet?  **** that, don’t care about your yodeling.  Just won the pennant ****es.

Such a crazy statement... i really really hope they stay hot tonight and wrap this up too, but "i hope we secure the pennant tonight" is wild to say out loud

For those of us who believe in baseball gods, quote a bit of bad juju in this thread.

No hit chatter from the ****ing broadcast team during the bid was bad enough, seeing it in here floored me.

  7. Seeing all the ticket chatter.  A cpl observations for what it’s worth:

Crazy that tix were still available last night even as the gates were open.  They announced a sellout but I looked pregame and there were seats in my section for ~25 less than I paid.  Looking around, seemed like there were seats available well into game.

seeing SROs available right now for $90

Yeah big Astros fan here bc that’s not going to happens v Yankees.  ~5% visiting fans v Dodgers/Cards maybe. Won’t be a takeover (I hope) but it will be a damn shame to have a lg ****head presence in the stadium if the Yankees win.  And, as stated prior, God knows tix may be available to a degree but not up until game time and for a small fortune.  Goooo Astros.

Had a 5 yr old with us last night.  Instead of taking Metro all the way in, grabbed a water taxi.  Yes, more expensive, but that, my friends, was the ticket.

Pregame food inside the Budweiser tailgate area = no line food truck fare for 10 bucks.

also, a little baseball fan etiquette critique:  stay at your seat and/or don’t come back to your seat until between ABs at worst, preferably on the half inning.  I know you’re trying beat the line to the pisser but damn man, playoff baseball, tie tat thing in a knot.  Rumbling down a row mid AB is no no

  8. While I’m at it, finally put the finishing touch on a master bath redo.

Replaced fiberglass enclosure with custom shower, (don’t let anyone talk you out of dual shower heads, they’re the ticket) added slipper tub which included cutting a hole in the wall to put in the floor mounted faucet  bc didn’t want tub mounted and room is too damn skinny (more on that later), tile, repurposed vanity w copper fixtures, found set of Leroy Neiman pics at an auction.

Final piece, “hey, the door opens into the bathroom and it’s awkward, how hard would it be to put in a pocket door?”

”Pretty effing hard.  I’d have to basically rip the wall apart to reconfigure it, put it back together and redo half the **** I just did”

    ”Oh”

Anywho, found this ratty (but solid) old door in the back corner of antique shop for 40 bucks. Already had the hardware that I got from the basement of an old house I have. Little bit of love and high gloss poly, voila.

still on the fence about putting glass shower door in

  9. Just finished staining and shellacking my front porch deck.  Yes, it’s going to be slick but I wanted old school marine mahogany look.  There is a little bit of texture from the wood grain but I’ll do another strip of poly from the door down the steps and put some sand it.

  10. https://wset.com/news/local/lus-falwell-settles-lawsuit-over-florida-hostel-venture

The Miami Herald reports that Falwell has agreed to pay Gordon Bello an undisclosed amount of money.”

Falwell denies promising Gordon Bello anything. Falwell’s lawyers noted Bello never filed any emails, texts or documents suggesting a deal existed.”

**Ok, I didn’t attend the esteemed LU school of law but, I’m not sure this is how it’s supposed to work.

A supposedly innocent and principled lawyer with money to burn settles to some putz with nothing in his back pocket?

Also, didn’t Mr Falwell JUST say it’s time for him to take the gloves off (or something to that effect) and start defending himself?

Dave Roberts kind of screwed Kershaw.  He really only made one bad pitch and they yanked him right away and now that one pitch might be the thing that caps off his career as a Dodger...  Seeing him despondent and alone in the dugout was ****ty.  He's one of the best they've ever had and it feels like they hung him out to dry.

And then he leaves Kelly out there to die......

Never thought I’d say it but Davy won the managerial war.

I was actually speechless last night and that’s hard to do
