  1. Well Gustavo has been teaching here for a while, he started out teaching Special Forces and Navy Seals out of Little Creek Naval Station. He put out some really good students that competed and medaled in the Mundials and Pan competitions. Renzo Gracie gave him his blessing to train under his name and banner, and Carlos Gracie Jr. certified him as a CBJJ black belt (red stripe too). Having these type of credentials and being a certified badass has driving up the cost to attend his academy. As far as a high demand, I think its gone up a lot now that we have Spartyca Fight League in VA. They have events at all the major venues in Hampton Roads, so its starting to become a big deal. A couple of friends of mine and have competed and won. Its what got me started. Your should definitely get back into it.
  2. I feel you on that one. Just for the BJJ is a buck fifty. For the striking and jui jitsu is $200 a month. Pretty pricey. Especially since I'm married with a baby. Wifey was pissed when she heard how much I was spending.
  3. [pic]Joe Rogan Black Belt[pic] That's dope. He had to put a lot of work in to get a black belt from Jean Jacques.
  4. You're right, Chavez is just too slow to keep up with Sergio. His footwork was all wrong, especially fighting a freagin' south paw. Sergio would land that left with ease because Chavez never was great a his footwork. He couldn't stay on Sergio's outside foot, and he just left himself to be a sitting target. Chavez is used to brawling more than boxing. You can't sit there and try and trade blows with a south paw. You got to outbox him.
  5. Per ESPN: Pacman vs. Marquez IV http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/8371273/manny-pacquiao-headed-fourth-showdown-juan-manuel-marquez Me personally, I would rather watch Bradley II or Cotto II. But Marquez has been giving Pac so much trouble. His footwork to keep Pac on the inside and keeping him in firing range of the right hand is whats been giving him success, a long with his counter punching obviously. Anyway, I'm still going to watch it. Just not that excited as I should be.
  6. Who is your coach? My instructor (Gustavo Machado) trained at Jean Jacques' academy too. Its funny, because they have the same last name but are not related. What academy do you train at?
  7. My instructor got his purple belt from the same academy Renzo received his, from Carlos Gracie Jr. This is one bad dude!
  8. Man I knew he looked familiar. Just couldn't figure out where!
  9. I think he just confirmed what a lot of us where assuming. Here is an online survey for Sports Authority.
  10. I still haven't figured out what movie that is from. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. Kind of old, but still funny. Whats up step ladder
  12. You're wrong on this one. Mexicans "RESPECT" Pacman, they don't hate him. He's had amazing fights with their countries most celebrated fighters and never once taunted or mocked their heritage. Unlike Mayweather coming into the ring rocking a sombrebro vs. De la hoya. Pac's made fans in mexico and south america by defeating their best.
  13. Kind of like the prostitution stings that they do on there too. I'm mean, a $10 difference between and 1/8 and 1/4 should have been a dead give away :paranoid:
  14. Drug dealers now a days aren't so bright. Craigslist add: Got Mary Jane and white girl for sale!!
  15. I saw this on another forum. Bob Knight during a radio interview:
  16. That Beasley clip had me dying. I know dude was like get the hell the away from me. Kind of reminds me of the clip with Josh Smith and Bibby in GayTL.......err I meant ATL. ab9aoQkMVls
  17. TNT keeps going in on Lebron. The "Decision" part II ww4TO2g5Q2A
  18. Looks painful. I think that move is legal too
  19. Pac was 142 at the weigh in, while ODLH was 145. Pac had to gain weight for the fight, so to think he hydrated over night and weighed more than Oscar before the fight is doubtful. Manny knows there is a great chance he will lose????? :ols: That doesn't even sound right. If that's the case, that just makes him look better. Knowing that he doesn't throw caution to the wind to preserve his legendary status shows that he's willing to fight anyone. Unlike your boy. And being one of Pac's biggest fans, I admit that Mayweather style will be hard to handle. He will probably counter Pac to a decision. BUT......I don't think Mayweather has taken a punch from someone like Pac, and he lands one of those left hooks Floyd will hit the mat.
