    I agree the game day experience is 100x better than that of FedEx, but that's completely a product of the DCU organization and its fans. The stadium itself is a dump and is far too large for regular use by an MLS team. Have you been to any of the new MLS stadiums? Once you go you will never look at RFK the same. I love it for its character and history, and Lot 8 (which will never be replicated at a new location), but I can't wait to miss it.

    First to second half really was night and day. GHH - you saw the first half and how NY owned DC on possession - the final possession percentages were like NY 54% and DC 46%, so they definitely evened things out in the 2nd half. They took their time to methodically create chances, they just couldn't finish on a few great ones. Happy with the 2nd half adjustments, but very unhappy at the overall performance. Like you said, it's even worse to see against a huge top of the table rival.

    First half was absolutely terrible. I was very happy with the 2nd half adjustments (great substitutions made by Ben), but you gotta play 2 halves if you want the points.

    after watching the replay it looked like the ref was actually going up to call a penalty on DeRo (I think it was him who was taken down), but didn't bc they ended up scoring

    I think most MLS stadiums do this. Even at RFK visiting supporters tailgate on the opposite side of the stadium from Barra, et al, and they're seated nowhere near our supporters. If you remember how RichmondRedskin described the Open Cup match against the Kickers, that's what happens when teams don't plan ahead like this. Is it overkill sometimes? Yes. But I'd rather wait the extra 20 minutes than deal with stupid-ass drunk fans.

    Watching a classic (1998) DC United game. Holy **** if you want to see how much American soccer has improved watch an early MLS game and watch a recent game. It's like night and day. I realize we started from basically nothing, but it's very encouraging to see how much the on-field product has improved in the last 10-15 years.
