At least long has a huge frame for your weight coaches to work with. He posted similar or better pro day numbers to the rest of the class. He did not bench. Which leads me to believe he lacks physical strength. That could be a double edged sword though. If he is willing to work ijn the weight room you could create a monster. Or it is also possible that he is not willing to put in the work in the weight room which is another problem altogether. Either way I would be fine with him in the third round.

Completely agree.  It's why I finished with he has potential, it's up to him to maximize his talent.

Really like Washingtons draft so far. If it fell that way we all should be really happy.

I agree, except I'm not a fan of Hunter Long.  I felt he played very soft for his size, lacks aggression.  His explosion at the beginning of a route was underwhelming to me as well.  IMHO he wont survive in the NFL if he doesn't fix at least one of those two things.  If you can break quickly, cool you can create seperation...if you can box out and play aggressively you can over work the person in front of you.  If you have neither of those traits, you're destined to ride pine or be out of the league.

I also didn't cover how much it pained me to watch him as a blocker.

I was glad to see the write up hit on all 3 of those points about him though.  He has potential, it's up to him if he fixes his game for the next level.

  3. Belicheck's Husky would have been more organized for this than I am at this point.  I felt so prepared....only to realize I was using old draft pick positioning...then when I adjusted forgot to add my 4th back in.  I made a top 300 list out of everyone I've done research on, yet we've been drafting so well I'm now with only 3 picks left in my top 50.  Houston is coming back though...if only our QB could keep his pants on 😫.

With the 68th pick in the 2021 ES Mock Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select - Baron Browning - LB Ohio State:

We continue from the 2nd rd bolstering our D. We like our core of LBs to be honest but with our new DC wanting guys that are more versatile, Baron fits that perfectly as his versatility to play ILB in a 3-4 or pretty much any position in a 4-3.

This is from Tony Pauline: "Athletic, explosive linebacker who flashes dominance. Fast moving in every direction, fluid getting to the play laterally, and possesses a burst to the ball. Cuts off the corners from running backs, shows strength, and makes the tackle in space. Explosive hitter who jars the ball loose, forcing fumbles. Quick and fluid in reverse, displays outstanding range, and fires to the ball out of his plant in coverage. Plays off blocks, redirects to the ball handler, and immediately alters his angle of attack getting to the action."

He needs to work on consistency but is a very athletic and versatile LB.

Great pick, was going to grab him in the fourth if he continued to slide.  Thought about it before St Brown but went with need + value over a player with slightly higher skill.  OSU fan, Browning imho never got enough credit during the season for his efforts on a defense that at times struggled compared to years past.  He can play all over the field and could align in a hybrid system as a box safety with his athleticism if a team wants to run a 4-2-5

Edit because I'm a moron: I'm all over the place with my picks this year...just added the fourth rd pick I have and completely overlooked in my signature.  This has been a bad start to my first year in the ESM.  Thankfully my picks have worked out where I wanted them to.

  5. With the 67th pick in the 3rd Round the Houston Texans select:

    Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR USC

Texans bolster their WR core with a versitile receiver that can work out of every spot in the formation.  We look for St. Brown to be Will Fuller's replacement.

  6. Quick verification to the rules on this draft(i know a bit late into the party...sorry)

I know the rules are only 1 trade involving future draft picks; is that in regards to the 2022 draft or 1 trade total per draftee

Just realized I have only one more pick for the next 100 or so selections, would be open to trading back to recoup some considering my remaining selections are largely in tact but I know I made the trade to get into the second already

The Chiefs select Landon Dickerson, Center, Alabama. Oline looking better for the Chiefs in 2021 with Wyatt Davis & now Landon aboard!

Landon Dickerson was taken about 7 picks back by the Rams? I believe.

Edit: GoSkins beat me to it.

We will have to get through the 4/5th rd death march. Every year, things really slow down in the middle. Maybe this year can be the year it doesn't happen.

But that's where all of my prime draft selections are...are you telling me I may have to wait even longer 🥺?

Dag yo! Lol I was hoping he'd fall, too. I really like Tryon. Great pick.

Thanks guys, did not expect him to make it this far down the line...struggled finding someone to trade with 😂

  10. *** TRADE ***

The Houston Texans and NY Jets have come to terms on a trade of the 52nd pick.

    Houston receives pick 52

    Jets receive Houston's 2022 2,3, and 5

With the 52nd pick in the NFL ES Mock Draft the Houston Texans select: Joe Tryon Edge Washington.

With the recent departure of J.J. Watt, the Houston Texans needed to fill a giant void on the defensive front.  Joe Tryon is the help we needed!

First, I truly hope the guys not showing up are OK. In todays environment there are so many things that could happen and life most definitely comes first. This is afterall just a game.

Having said that, next year I propose that we require all GMs to check in the day before the draft starts. Just a simple I am here and I am ready. Anyone NOT checking in is only given 2 hours before they are skipped. As long as you check in you get your full time allotment. We have 28 to 30 people who all over it and just a few that take some of the energy out of it making everyone else wait.

    Just a thought.

I’d also recommend maybe shrinking the time between picks, it could be some(especially those that are new to this) may see the extended time and disappear
