  1. The fact that this team cannot function whenever one key player is out of the lineup is an indictment on Ernie.
  2. I think Otto Porter would be so perfect for this team . He's a leader, humble and a cold blooded player who can shoot and rebound from the 3 spot. Is it wrong that I'm kinda cheering for us to lose so we can be in the best position to get him? I kinda did the same thing for RG3 and that turned out O.k.
  3. Did Wittman seriously not play Okafor the entire fourth quarter...? This is why he cannot be this team's coach in the future.
  4. I really wanted to find a way to get Cousins. With the team moving to Seattle, its looking like he'll be part of that rebuilding project and coming to DC would have to be done when his contract expires. So... I'm completely on board with Nerlens. We need a banger down low, who can control the paint and dominate the post area. We already have enough finesse in the front court with Nene and Seraphim. I like Booker, but he's too small to be that Chandler-type player. Wall/Crawford Beal/Martin Webster/Vesely/Singleton Nene/Booker Noel/Seraphim. That's actually not too shabby
  5. this draft is weak. Muhammad? Len? Zeller? IDK. Trade the unprotected pick, and anyone on the team not named Beal or Wall. Nene and Cousins instantly contend as the best 4/5 in the East, and our core is set with Wall/Beal/Ariza/Nene/Cousins. That ain't that bad. By the time Cousins and Wall will need new contracts, Okafor and Ariza will be off the books and Nene will be in the last year of his deal. Can Wittman, get a real coach, who won't put up with Demarcus' ****. Demarcus would behave on a roster that should compete for a playoff spot and John Wall in his ear. That's how this team should go about it, but with Ernie at the controls, it's probably not going to happen. ---------- Post added January-5th-2013 at 03:28 PM ---------- I think you can trade the two firsts and bank on the fact that you won't be in the lottery in 2014 with that lineup, ala RG3
  6. Wittman really **** the bed with that last sequence in the first OT. I don't remember anyone else besides Crawford touching the ball the last :90. It's a shame, Nene and Beal played really well. What would it take to get Cousins (30/20 tonight)?
  7. I think Wall would be great for Cousins. I'd definitely put together a package with Vesely, Booker, Seraphim, or Singleton. Too bad this probably won't happen as Cousins' isn't high character enough for Ted
  8. Ricky Rubio is going to haunt this franchise as long as he's in the NBA. First game back and he looks great.
  9. Watching the Nuggets game and McGee is playing so well... Sometimes I like pondering which trade was the worst: Foye/Miller for the 5th(rubio), Nene for McGee or Okariza.
  10. I'm sure you mean well, but this is NOT the place to come and complain about how dreadful it is to be a Lakers fan right now. Just no. Lakers fans are so jaded its ridiculous. One bad quarter of a season and they act like the basketball gods have mistreated them. NOTHING is worse than being a wizards fan right now. You guys have 5 titles since 2000. We have second round 'Beat the Heat' tshirts.
  11. This is the one occasion where I firmly believe that the conglomerate of people who regularly post on this thread would be a better management team than Ernie and co. We have a foundation of Wall, Crawford, Vesely, Singleton, Nene. None of whom can shoot a lick with any consistency. Go into the offseason needing one thing: Shooting. And we trade for Ariza who will create a logjam at 3 and Okafor who will take minutes from Vesely and Seraphim. Neither of whom are a solution to the simple problem this team has. Oh yeah and take away all the cap space we had, for the next two years. A small Part of me wants to see the Beal get taken at 2 just so we can see Ernie squirm.
  12. Okafor is a walking double double if he can stay healthy. Can never have enough of those guys. He's also got an anti-Javale, Andray attitude
  13. Yeah, but it's still frustrating as hell to see someone that I personally wanted us to take flourish. It's gonna get even harder when San Antonio goes deep into the finals and Kawhi becomes this rising star in the National spotlight. Kawhi and Jan were similar players coming into the draft. High energy, defense, questionable J. Ernie just has this thing for Euros and Highlight reel players (Pech, Javale, Jan) and it's frustrating to me personally, it's becoming apparent that Ernie favors toolsy players over well rounded Basketball players ---------- Post added May-21st-2012 at 04:09 PM ---------- There is no better college (not sure about pro) coach at communicating with the modern basketball player. He's a great recruiter because great talents love being around and being coached by him. That's what my bro who plays for an SEC team says
  14. Of course Kawhi Leonard is killing it for the spurs right now. Playing lockdown defense, hustling, rebounding and shooting from beyond the arc. Exactly what we needed. ERNIEEEE
  15. apparently Doron Lamb, Anthony davis and Terrance Jones are going pro... but I see no MKG
  16. Six to midnight with that quote. Cannot wait to see em and get an RG3 third Jersey!
  17. There's no video but the seahawks website is live blogging it. I'm following uni watch on twitter
  18. Here comes the new look for all 32 teams, but none have changed as much as the Seahawks. by Clare Farnsworth 11:49 AM
  19. On the seahawks website, they're saying that it's a native american inspired feather design. If true- pretty cool.
  20. Anthony davis is special and probably is a lock for the the top slot. Many of us have hypothesized that Hornets will magically wind up with the top pick in the draft, leaving us with 2-5. With Davis off the board, these are my guys MKG- owning the tournament. Does everything well, but if you read the scouting report, he's a team captain in the making. He doesn't care about the stats, just winning. He scores, passes, rebounds and plays with a high motor. He doesn't have a great perimeter game, which is exactly what we need. But he's the BPA in my opinion TomRob- you know he would love to play here, especially becuase he is taking care of his family. Can rebound and body up with NBA bigs. A little small for an NBA four and sometimes thinks he's a 2 or 3. I think with all the **** he's been through, he would be a positive influence in the locker room. Beal - struggled towards the end of the Louisivlle game, but best J in the draft. would be a perfect complement to Wall. Small, but at 6'3, can defend 1's and 2's. Think Eric Gordon Those are the 3 I love: Barnes - looking more and more like Marvin Williams. PJ3- Doesn't seem like he loves basketball. Did you see him after the kentucky loss? Drummond - Definitely needs another year at Uconn, but we'll probably go in the top 5. Big with potential. Where have we heard this before. Pass Jeremy Lamb - Reminds me of Nick Young, and not in a good way. Sully - One of my favorite players in the tourny, but I just don't know how effective he'll be at bodying up NBA 4's.
  21. Gilchrist is declaring apparently. That's who I would take. http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2012/story/_/id/7723624/2012-nba-draft-kentucky-wildcats-michael-kidd-gilchrist-enter-draft-source-says
  22. I disagree about the contract thing. My best guess is we'll amnesty Blache this offseason and Rashard comes off the books in 2013. I figure we draft a stud this year and spend in 2013, when all our bad contracts off the books and have a better idea of what this team really looks like (Vesely particularly). While Nene's 13 mil/year deal is pricey, we should have plenty of cap room. If Wall's ascension stays on schedule, we should be playoff contenders by then. I didn't like this trade at first, but I'm liking it more and more. I think Nene's injury history is kind of overblown, he's missed a little time this year because of a calf issue but has missed a grand total of 10 games since his 2007/8 CANCER scare. Yes, he tore his ACL and miniscus, but he's played consistent minutes and put up consistent numbers since then. With the games missed early in his career, he's a young 29. While I don't think we'll ever see this guy make an AllStar game or average a double double. You can expect 13 and 7 consistently, tough D and a post presence, a good locker room figure for the younger guys (Seraphim!) and a player who can step in as a leader for this team with Wall. This draft is crucial. Players like Nene, Booker and Vesely are glue guys. We need another elite player to team with Wall if we want to stand a chance to compete with Miami and Chicago. Even though I think the Wiz won in this deal, it shouldn't save Grunfeld's job. Bring in a new GM, let him pick his coach and staff, evaluate what we have and make the draft decision from there.
