Stocking up on depth corners. I hope we intend to draft one on day 2 as well.

He was also their best Special Teams Gunner per the Steeler Report.  Definitely seems to be a focus on Special teams prowess on a few of our signings.  I like it.

I admit I'm no expert when it comes to evaluating college prospects but I've learned over the years the wisdom of the crowd is often correct.

If our gm for the last 3 years did nothing but eat oreos in his grandmother's basement and once a year start a poll on extremeskins on who we should take with our first round pick we'd have ,Christian darrisaw, Chris olave and Christian Gonzales on our team right now.

My opinions now on who I want are weighted 90/10 in favor of how a certain group of evaluators on this board see them and they are usually mostly in agreement.

I won't mention any names, don't want any big heads a few don't have much room left to swell.  😁😁😁

We have a GM, now, who I trust to get it right, and has proven to be an elite talent evaluator. Ron was absolutely terrible at this and wanted to always go against the grain to be the one who uncovered the hidden gem instead of what was right in front of him. Most infuriating he would do this early, but sometimes late too such as trading up for a long snapper. He was just…terrible. So very happy to have competent proven evaluators on board and Dan removed to demand a pick here & there as we all know he did. We were a cluster **** and laughing stock to the rest of the NFL. Not anymore, and it feels damn good so far.

  3. Pretty sure the new and MUCH improved front office have a better bead on the Mariota event than any of the conjecture we have heard through the media, or otherwise.  They know what is going on, and what went on. I trust them without reservation.

Anyone expecting a team picking #2 in the draft to turn it around in one year should be drug tested.  I'm talking turning it around in my lifetime.  I am 62.

Absolutely.  It's why this fanbase deserves a winner.

Yep, 62 here too & have seen EVERY SB we played in from Kilmer to Rip and everything in between. Just want to strike lightning one more time while still around. It’s an amazing feeling when it happens. The Pats fans had it & the Chiefs fans now. I hope they all appreciate the good fortune they have. You go into every game expecting to win. Hopefully we will catch a glimpse of that again. It appears we finally have a proper framework in place with true football people running the show. Hope springs eternal, hail.

They offered the job to both. Multiple sources have stated that.

Believing stories that make you feel better about it is far more dangerous.

They botched the process but ended up with a competent coach. If they hit on the QB the hire will look like it was smart. If they miss it won’t. But let’s not pretend Quinn was the choice all along. That’s laughable.

Multiple sources said the Zoom interview did not go so well, but yet we offered him, without an in-person interview?  That is a dubious (an offer) proposition at best and illogical, which goes against everything we have heard about our new ownership and GM. Not buying that, at all.

Again for all the "Ben Johnson is the hottest candidate on the market" stuff the only teams who liked him so much they were willing to wait and do a 2nd interview with him were us and Seattle.

First off, I do not "know" anything or privy to insider information, but, maybe 2nd interviews were not set up or scheduled because the FO's & hiring personnel for the teams hiring DO talk and there may be something in place for Ben with us.  No way of knowing, but is is odd, as you said, and seems to me as if he has almost been "slotted" to us.  Hmmmm, we shall soon know.  Hail!

  7. If indeed it is Johnson, as it appears trending, very excited about the possibility of Hank Fraley as well.  We need to assemble the best young football minds we can. Distance ourselves from the DS era and blaze our own new path. Excited about these possibilities. The future looks so improved from the DS era. Very thankful to witness the changeover.

The biggest reason I don't see us trading down is that you don't get the #2 pick very often. When you do, you have to invest in the most important player on the field, the QB. That is unless you think the QB class is trash.

Agreed as we basically lucked into the 2nd pick if you look at all the variables that had to align to get there.  Remember, we started off 2-0 and amazing we were able to "achieve" this feat.  We also have close to, if not the, most salary cap money available so some holes may be filled in that manner.  It an exciting time, finally, to be a fan again. This time without the 23 year embarrassment that was DS,

  9. I have not posted for some time on the board on a regular basis because my interest had basically dwindled to zero.  I have been watching this development keenly and keeping up with all the posts.  I am truly excited in my fandom again.  We have to keep this momentum and make smart decisions, on everything, going forward.  By having Josh as the owner, making the right moves, and hiring Adam, we are FINALLY operating as a professional organization again, for the first time since DS unfortunate purchase of my team.  It feels nice, but much left to be done, which I have no doubt will be done, correctly.  What a great hire and so very excited for the future of my beloved team, whatever name we eventually adopt!  HTTR!!!! (as I used to always say:)) Beyond excited and can't even focus at work...feels nice, again!

DMV Cowboys “fans” that can’t find Dallas on a ****ing map are on another level.

A game in Dallas, with actual Dallas fans, isn’t too shabby.

This is true. Lived in DFW for 15 years & went to many games. The Cow fans there are darn near polite. Outside of DFW, a different story. Rather bizarre actually.

How are we feeling about Darrick Forrest, was last year an anomaly or do we have a legit player here. He had an unreal year last year.

I think Darrick always had the athletic ability. Hard work & grinding paid off for him, and must always continue as the great ones always do. I think he is definitely legit, in my unprofessional opinion.

I never knew that was a Lovin' Spoonful song. So there you go. Thread wasn't a total waste.

Not at all. The Lovin' Spoonful was actually a really good 60's band and John Sebastian, who formed the band was excellent. He wrote "Welcome Back", the theme song for Welcome Back Kotter (if anyone remembers that show). He played harmonica for some Doors songs, played with Lowell George (Little Feat), and was asked to be the 4th member of Crosby, Stills. And Nash. After he turned them down they moved on to Neal Young. He played solo at Woodstock as well. Sorry for the rant, but am kind of an old music nut, and always really liked the Lovin' Spoonful. Summer in the City is another good track from them. Take care fellas, peace.

Is there something funky with his known measurables? At his size, I didn’t expect him to be described this way at 4.55 with no burst evident in his jumps and over a 7.0 3-cone.

It was held in basically monsoon type conditions and the ground was rain soaked.  They honestly should have moved it indoors or rescheduled.  Throw that 40 time out the window.
