Antibodies don't prevent you from getting infected again. It helps the immune system to attack the virus right away since you already have antibodies made for the antigen. It is like having a key right away instead of trying to find one and in trying to find one the attacker can do damage. Having readily available antibodies is a good thing. Obviously these antibodoes won't help if the virus mutates. In that case your immune system would need to find another key, and fast.
Read a very interesting article the other day...can’t find it right now. But the gist was this.
Your immune system comes in two waves. First wave is from the cells. Basically a self-destruct...when infected they send out a chemical signal that shuts down adjoining cells. Vastly reduces viral replication and buys time for the second wave to rally up...white blood cells and such.
Anyway, the reason COVID produces so many negative outcomes is because the first wave never happens. Somehow it bypasses it and by the time the second wave hits the virus is too widespread. The immune response overloads and you get the dreaded “cytokine storm”.
So to the point, even a mild antibody response would be helpful. Even after the virus mutates...which it will.

It won't be easy, but they need to make being a cop more prestigious, better paying, etc. The talk of de-funding the police is asinine...they should be investing more so that you attract better candidates and can properly train/groom the candidates.
I’ve been saying this for years.
Instead, we burn the budgets on surplus tactical gear and then send the patrols out to cover the deficit by ginning up traffic fees and such.
Pure idiocy.

Looks like the same kind of snake I saw last weekend. Not particularly dangerous, unless you're a mouse or an egg.
Plain old rat snake. Pretty handy around the yard.
She ordered bagel w/lox and a mimosa.

All progressive movement in the US has always been from the people. By blood and sweat and gold.
The idea of a political messiah is a fools errand. For 250+ years...

There’s no way the hardcore confederate history folks take this lying down. Central VA is laid back but not when we’ll get invaded by thousands of hardcore South. Most likely armed. I have a feeling any other statues (If I’m the VMFA I don’t keep my statue outside for a bit. I’d move it for now.) are now targets for those upset by the announcement. We could very well see in a stand off in the middle of Monument Avenue. Yeah I’m taking a long vacation. I am curious what happens to Monument Avenue. They have to do something because that’s the most valuable area in the city and it brings crazy tourism revenue so they can’t just leave it bare.Bring it down. My city needs to heal. We’re way overdue.

Managing the plateau over summer with no schools, no concerts, no sporting events, no travel, etc is one thing. You can get the economy moving. It’s doable.
Holiday season might be quite a test.

I think when the statue stuff happens in Richmond I should take a vacation for a week because the right wings nuts are no doubt gonna come into the city full force and it’s gonna be Absolute mayhem with the residents. Like I honestly don’t know what happens kind of mayhem. That’s a explosive situation.
On one hand, that’s never gonna happen. Despite all the bluster, Central VA is very laid back.
OTOH, Monument Ave is a beacon of conflict...still. Bob Lee could come down this summer. We might get a whole lot more attention than we ever wanted.

There a protest scheduled a week from today at the intersection in front of my shop. I think the plan is to provide the protesters with water as well. I believe it will be a peaceful one.
It’s just good business.
If the cops would’ve rolled out some donuts and coffee instead of tear gas, probably would’ve been way less violence. Probably would’ve been cheaper too.

Miata? Is this the mid 90s?
Dude, the factory put $4K on the hood. Never seen higher than $1K in 15 years.
And the new Miata is an amazing car.

Not really sure how someone this tone deaf can co-exist in a locker room of teammates who are 70%+ Afican American.
Cause he’s in the lab with the game plan and crushing film all week?

Stay safe! Hopefully with it being middle of the day and so early, things disperse and can end peacefully as well.
Well...we had the crew move about 50 cars off the frontage while my GM and I hit every grocery/price club in a 5 mile radius grabbing cases of bottled water and Gatorade.
The idea was to set up a “hydration station” sort of deal for the marchers. Had it setup by 12:30, little Peter Tosh on the Bluetooth, Hawaiian shirt, feeling helpful.
12:45 we got the news that they were moving it to Willow Lawn due to the heat. Kinda disappointing, really.
So...big nothing. All is well. Even wrapped up a delivery on a Miata.
Back at home, just cracked a beer.
Regarding Brees...
I love Drew Brees. One of my favorite non-Skins of all time.
Obviously a fantastic player and teammate and his rep as an all-around great guy is fully legit.
But...he’s center-cut Midwest farm boy and he can’t see the big picture. He’s just wrong. I suspect he’ll come around in due time.

Nobody would argue that. What does that have to do with what I said? If your point was leave the Redskins alone, just say that.
Based on a brief random FB sampling, I feel comfortable asserting that every single NFL team posted some variation of the “blackout” deal on their social media yesterday.
Why are the Redskins “one of the dumbest things you’ve ever seen”? What makes us so awful?

I know there is The Stadium but I have to say the Redskins doing #blackouttuesday had to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
Trump gassing peaceful protestors for a church photo-op is roughly 1000X dumber.

Im a 50 year old white guy living 20 miles west of Richmond. 98% white but fairly diverse economically and I’m well known in my community.
If a gang of cops murdered me at 3PM in broad daylight at the local Food Lion parking lot, every single person on my street would raise holy hell.
There would be a full complement of assault rifles and lawyers and activists on the case if they tried to sweep it under the rug. I would have my day in court.
But we both know that’s never ever gonna happen. And we both know why.
