  1. alright... fight's on! If mayweather wins... and wins decisively... the fight with manny pac will soon follow and it will be EPIC.
  2. Questionable tactics by Carano. As for the ending... there's no way you can't expect a controversy coming from it. Though I believe the ref made the call before the end of the round, you're going to have a lot of people who complain. That's just how it goes, expect it to happen. The moment the ref decided to stop the fight in his head and began to move to separate the fighters is, in my opinion, the moment the fight ends. Cyborg wins by KO. But we'll see what the fallout looks like.
  3. this sport is craving a prolonged even fight that ends with a bang. Nobody feels like an ass quite like a guy who pays over $100 for his nosebleed seat in the arena for an enormous event like this, then finds himself leaving the arena in less than two rounds of fighting. The fights prior to the main event were pretty awful as well. I would have been uber pissed to have spent a lot of money on that fight. Heck, I would have been pissed if I paid the $50 for PPV. The hyped fight of Oscar De La Hoya vs Pacman ended in a less than dramatic fashion and still relatively early in the fight. This one had a lot of hype and it turned out to be 2 rounds of Manny hitting a punching bag. The resurgence in the popularity of boxing is going to end if the casual fans of the world can't get a worthwhile fight. Fights like Hatton and Pacman hurt this sport more than anything. Is there anything we can do about it? No. That's the problem. We can only hope for a worthwhile fight, and I certainly expected this last one to be worthwhile, but sometimes **** happens. I guess the point of my rant is that I'd hate for this sport to return to a faded background status in the world of sports.
  4. lol. Nah he'd go to school bragging
  5. Me too, and I really felt for his family who was sitting in the arena. They showed his fiance standing up looking absolutely devastated. In the 3rd episode of the HBO 24/7 series for this fight Hatton talked about being hesitant to bring his son to see a fight because he was always afraid of the possiblity of getting KO'ed in front of him. I hope his son never sees footage of this fight, but I have a feeling he's going to hear about it at school on monday. Poor kid.
  6. It'll probably be December. Mayweather's fight against Hatton was in December of 2007. **EDIT** Stillunknown, that video is awesomely mesmerizing. I can't stop watching it.
  7. Thank god for justin.tv But for Manny vs. Mayweather I might just shell out the money for HD PPV. Of course I'd invite enough friends to chip in so I'd only be out a few bucks.
  8. Agreed. Hatton is a brawling hooligan with boxing gloves. He's got strength and heart but against a fighter with true boxing skills he had very little chance. I had Manny knocking Hatton out later in the fight, because I thought perhaps Hatton's new training under Mayweather Sr. might provide him with more boxing skill. Hatton came out at the bell in the first round in brawler mode! Manny, surprised by Hatton's lack of defense, dominates in the first. For half of the second round Hatton attempts to actually box, which surprises Manny as he expected Hatton to still be brawling. Manny goes back to precision hits and finishes the job. Mayweather is all about precision. He'll be animated, emotional, and arrogant everywhere outside the ring. But once he's inside with the gloves on he's as focused as an accountant in April. It's an entirely different fight between Manny and Mayweather.
  9. Manny land 78 punches vs. Hatton's 18. Total... complete... DOMINATION.
  10. WOOOOOW!!!!! I can't believe what I just saw! I knew Manny would win by KO, but I don't think anybody expected it to happen in the second round! I'm glad I didn't pay $50 to see this. Thank goodness for justin.tv
  11. Hatton is going for the killer blows to try and get the edge back.
  12. My original prediction of Manny winning in the 9th or 10th might have to be amended to the 3rd. Manny is rocking Hatton early.
  13. It's a tough call. Hatton is going for blood since his loss in the spotlight. The extra motivation may be enough to provide him with better odds. However, Hatton is a very emotional guy, that's what lost him the fight against Mayweather Jr. Emotion has no chance against someone who can calculate every move in a calm and consistent manner. Manny has that calm calculating edge. As for size differential, a two pound difference won't be that much of an advantage for Hatton. Height? Both fighters come in between 5'6", in fact Manny is 1/2 an inch taller (not that it matters). Manny will win by KO in the 9th, but could go into the 10th. It depends on when Hatton stops boxing and starts brawling. Manny will then take full advantage.
  14. big boxing fan here, I can't wait to see the Klitschko v. Ibragimov fight at the meadowlands. I'm trying to land tickets but I doubt I'll succeed. I agree with reaper, thank goodness this is a unification fight. I hope more are to come but I doubt it.
  15. There's a lot of hatred among WWE wrestlers. I mean look at Ultimate Warrior. The man won't even sign his name next to anyone else's because he just has so much bitter hatred for so many. And he certainly is part of the "I hate Hulk Hogan" club. It really is sad to see so much bitterness.
