This game shows you that a pocket passer QB is still king..

The potential entertainment value of this hire could be beyond epic as cowboys fans have a melt down if they lose to the Eagles..lol

Loved the whole era. Football was awesome. Reading the newspaper was our internet. Debate was face to face and there was no google to fact check our arguments, LOL
I know they are trying to protect players now,but the game was just so much better back then..

Jayden daniels has 25 more games started and 2 years older than Maye..I think maye has more upside and should be the pick at #2

I guess I am confused because I thought the issue was about wanting to turn RG3 into more of a pocket passer but there has been so much back and forth that I could be totally mixed up.
The issue he had with RG3 was he couldn't read a defense and held the ball to long which resulted in sacks..Cousin's came in and the offense operated like it was supposed to due to Cousins making quicker reads and getting rid of the ball..had nothing to due with RG3 running.

Drake Maye is a Justin Herbert clone to me..No way would I pass that up at # 2.

Agree, whether people agree or not Daniels is almost guaranteed to end up QB2, the off grid ability will be too much to overlook.
Yeah right..lol. Maye has prototype size, better arm and can make every NFL type throw and can run is somehow guaranteed to be drafted after Daniels?

It's so obvious that it's Ben Johnson..They can't make it official until his season ends..Nothing is stopping them from hiring any of the other coaches that they have interviewed as their season have already ended..If any of the prior coaches that interviewed blew them away you think they would wait around? Hell no they would of hired them in fear of some other team hiring them.

I like Maye better than McCarthy. I said I would go back and watch because a lot of things that Albright has said about teams been way higher on McCarthy than people think but I just don't see anything special there.
Someone posted an article here though that really made me think, it was about Mahomes and it was basically saying that people assumed he couldn't do things because he didn't do it much in college. Its the same way with Stroud, people assumed he couldn't handle pressure just because he never saw a ton of it.
So with JJ I kind of want to watch him again in that context. He just wasn't asked to do a lot but it doesn't necessarily mean he can't. I just felt very meh on him at first watch (and he has such little pressure on him because of how stellar the defense was).
Lol, if every "legit talent evaluator" agrees you have no reason to be so concerned about my opinion then
I'm not concerned..

Lol, are you taking this personally? Hilarious. After pages of debate, not about actual play, but about whether or not someone will break Daniels in half including someone alluding to him literally dying?
It's like people have decided who we are picking and are outraged if anyone has a dissenting opinion (much the same way everyone here acts outraged at the mere suggestion of trading down as though they know 100% what will happen momths from now).
And I also said the comp I like for Daniels is Cunningham more than Jackson.
No not taking it personally..your just constantly pointing out negatives about Maye and prop up Daniels like he is a superior prospect when in all actuality Maye is the better prospect in the eyes of just about every legit talent evaluator..Yes Maye has things that he needs to correct just like every QB in the draft.

Also as far as Drake Maye is concerned. I was excited to dig into him when it looked like we were getting a top 5 pick because I had heard analysts talk about him. The problem was I just did not like his 2023 tape at all (I felt the same way about Howell). I saw the wow throws or plays once or twice a game but that didn't outweigh all the other stuff I didn't like.
I felt that he played down to competition
He struggled against terrible teams in games where they were favored
He would have random inexplicable misses and the offense would just stall for full quarters or more
He would never step up in the pocket, he was constantly drifting to the side when he felt pressure
He also isn't good at evading pressure and it felt like he was too often creating his own
I don't love his throwing motion or his footwork
I don't like that in both 2022 and 2023 his accuracy fell towards the end of the season
He has flashes for sure but he was just way, way too inconsistent
We know Maye sucks in your eyes and Daniels is the next Lamar Jackson..no need for the scouts or GM to evaluate any further as you have done it for them.lol

Everyone of those QB's that you mentioned are pocket passers and all have been to the SB except for cousins

Oh you were trying to make a correlation? So QBs just shouldn't run period then is the point you are trying to make?
There is a time to run,but when that is what your go to is because you are a raw passer then you will not survive..

Anthony Richardson played in 4 games and had 136 yards rushing which averaged out to a whopping 34 yards per game and 6 carries per LOL.
Yeah and where is he at due to his running? That's right on IR

I am not going to go so far as to say he cant succeed in the NFL. But he is going to need a ton of work to succeed in the NFL. And in the mean time he will try to use his strength which are his legs. And that is a recipe for disaster when every player he will be facing is bigger and more importantly faster than anyone he has ever faced.
With his age and how raw he is it's not worth the risk at #2 overall pick.

And they all have been hurt and missed a lot of games..

He did. Anthony Richardson is bigger than 90 percent of QB in the league. He fell on his shoulder wrong but definitely a good point.
He also suffered concussions

Didn't Anthony Richardson get destroyed this year trying to run all the time?

If a QB can't operate in a pocket they will not make it in the NFL..Daniels bails the pocket too much to succeed in the NFL.
