My concern with Jayden's frame hasn't been about getting tackled when running - which I agree is fixable - but sacks in the pocket when lots of bodies come crashing. Shoulders, ribs, hip injuries on top of the usual ligament concerns.

I also have been very skeptical that a 24 year old at 200-210 lbs can simply bulk up to 225 over a couple years. But I am a total amateur. If Cooley thinks it's possible, while I wouldn't take it as gospel, I'd think he at least has some kind of educated intuition there.

Peters and Quinn's philosophy of building for the long-term (no shortcuts) made me think the pick would be Maye. But if they believe Jayden is flat-out the better prospect, I will trust them and root like hell for the young man to succeed. But the RG3 PTSD is strong lol.

JD ain't bulking up to 225,It took him months after college season was over to get up to 210

Yea you cracked the code I can’t even argue that one good find can’t believe no one else has found this statistically irrefutable evidence.

Well where is your evidence that JD is gonna run all over teams in the NFL?

RG3 could read a defense. Ever. This other guy can. He really doesn’t have to run. He does and is gonna kill teams with it, but he doesn’t have to. Running WAS griffins game and he was determined to do it. Until he couldn’t.

If JD doesn't have to run then why does he have more rushing attempts than RG3 did?

JD has the same tendencies that RG3 had which was when there was pressure he looked to run..Exact same thing that JD does..

I can't figure out how he had so many completions then. The guy won the Heisman. He had an amazing year, and I think it is transferable even though some on here actually said college stats don't matter. Yes, completions matter. The ability to use your legs in the modern NFL matters.

I don't think he is going to get killed in the NFL. I think he will continue to make adjustments like rookies have to. I think the will pass the tests.

Heisman don't mean squat in the NFL either..list all the QB'S that won the Heisman and also won a SB.

I like Maye over Daniels.  but I am not as full of confidence on it that some others are.   And I agree this point cuts both ways.    It's not like no one thinks they should take Daniels.  Plenty do.  It's not taking Bo Nix or some wild surprise at 2.  The judgment cuts both ways.  I reject the idea that Peters only looks bad if he passes on Maye and it backfires -- but gets a total pass if he passes on Daniels and it backfires.

For me this whole time, the only thing he could do with that pick to upset me is to trade down.  But tough for me to kill a GM for not getting the QB right considering so many have failed to get it right.

Peters will look bad if he selects Daniels over Maye and Daniels is a bust and Maye turns out to be a franchise QB..analytics say Daniels will be a bust

yeah, how will his career look if he passes on Jayden in favor of Maye and Maye becomes Sam Howell 2.0 or the second coming of Zach Wilson or Josh Rosen, while Daniels is the NFC’s version of Lamar Jackson and wins multiple super bowls with the Giants?

here is a fact for you no Dual threat QB of Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick's kind  has ever won a SB..Daniels has to many red flags such as being almost 24 years old and having 5 years of experience and just now having a breakout year..weighing under 215 lbs,and when there is pressure hi first instinct is to run..

Not me.  I think we do it too, but it's a **** up and I'm going into this eyes open.  If we do this and Jayden is skinny Justin Fields and Drake Maye becomes Josh Allen part 2 in New England, Adam Peters's career is over.

Especially with that Trey Lance debacle on his resume..I know he wasn't GM,but he was involved the evaluation.

Agreed. Everything else is media nonsense and due dilligence.

Maye has more upside, better physical traits, and younger..Yes daniels is more polished at this point in there careers,But he is not the correct pick for this franchise that has a first year GM and HC..Daniels is more suited for a team like the Vikings that has had a staff in place for a few years and needs to win now..Washington can take it slow and develop Maye.

I haven't been saying "Maye has no responsibility or issues with his footwork. It's all the fault of his OCs". I've been saying that having to use two different styles of drop back and footwork over his two starting years quite possibly had an effect on his footwork development and on it not being as consistent as we'd like.

So I think it's likely a variety of factors, with being told to use two different types of drop back over two years being one of them. I don't think that's some crazy out of left field hypothesis.

I thought maye said in a interview following his proday he was asked to backpedal drop compared to what drops the NFL uses?

This is one of the reasons that I don't really agree with the whole "Daniels can start day 1, Maye can't" thing. They both bring things to the "day 1 starter" party. Daniels brings starting experience and more refined footwork/mechanics, and Maye brings experience in a very adverse environment and making NFL level throws into tight windows and with more anticipation.

Yeah lets see what those mechanics look like when his receiver dosen't have a couple yards of seperation on a defender and he holds onto the ball too long because he's not use to being pressured or the WR has no seperation and he gets leveled
