The GOP needs to stop making excuses for knowingly voting for a bigoted sociopath.

Edit..or maybe they don't care they elected a POS candidate...cause yay party.

More like "hey look, he stopped his motorcade to shake hands with fire, ems, and police on the side of the road. He's a class act and you'll never see CNN report this stuff." That's what I see from my Mom's (a baby boomer) Facebook feed a lot.

  2. So, what are all of you kind folks (I actually should include myself as a somewhat moderate conservative who despises Trump and co) who are speaking out about the rise of the new fascists going to do about it? Griping every day on a forum that is largely your own echo chamber is accomplishing nothing, except maybe giving you enough catharsis to continue another day...griping.

  3. Looking at backup and secondary storage refresh for the enterprise. Currently exploring Cohesity, Rubrik, and Avamar/Data Domain (sigh, the Dell/EMC one was handed down to me from above). What do you guys use or have experience with?

  4. Saw Solo over the weekend and loved it. A-. My 14 year old daughter said it was one of the best movies she's seen, and she's seen all of them. But maybe she just thinks the actor is handsome.

I don't know what's worse:  That they made the game in the first place or That there is a market for it.  They wouldn't of made it if there wasn't a market for it.

They just took an existing genre and changed the players to kids and cops, instead of soldiers or other random adult characters. Let that settle in as you (or a school kid) are playing one of the most popular games in the world, Fortnite Battle Royale. I'm becoming more and more against first person shooters and violent video games as I get older.

Earlier this week the FBI seized a Rusiian Botnet domain involved in this. Supposedly rebooting will stop phase two and three, but factory resets and reconfiguration or firmware updates if available might be in order. This campaign was heavily focused in Ukraine, but spread to 50+ countries.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is warning that a new malware threat has rapidly infected more than a half-million consumer devices. To help arrest the spread of the malware, the FBI and security firms are urging home Internet users to reboot routers and network-attached storage devices made by a range of technology manufacturers.

The growing menace — dubbed VPNFilter — targets Linksys, MikroTik, NETGEAR and TP-Link networking equipment in the small and home office space, as well as QNAP network-attached storage (NAS) devices, according to researchers at Cisco.

California probably covers everything you are trying to get at. And Cali has seen a dramatic decrease in gun deaths over the past 25 years as it has enacted tougher gun laws.

Seems to be doing better than most states in the US:

    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/firearm_mortality/firearm.htm

Wish the chart went back to the 90's or 80's even. 3453 in 2005 compared to 3184 in 2016, second only to Texas in overall quantity of gun deaths (high population factor). Still, that's an 8% decrease over 11 years, when I'm sure the population has also increased.

  9. Fellow IT folks and decision makers,

I'm trying to build a decision tree or flow chart of some sort that will include decisions on types of equipment (servers, routers, WAN op, etc) and specs etc. for deploying a remote/branch office.

So if we open a new office of 25-100 people, what equipment would be in the standard kit? Questions might include:

Do they have a need to store data? Type? Size? Average file size? Stored locally or at HQ site?

    What size circuit?

Not looking to re-invent the wheel.

    Anybody got anything to share?

no doubt politicians do just about everything for some political gain. what issues does it not address that it should?

removal of mandatory minimum sentences. Particularly in drug-related offenses. The link in the first post is very good. Takes about 3-5 minutes to read.

Did you read the FBI report I posted a few days ago?

I know the pro-control crowd doesn't want to hear it, but absent our "leaders" actually doing something, or someone finding a way to increase police response time significantly, arming yourself is your own current option.

It doesn't matter if you like the option, or think it's a good option, it's the only option where you can do something. The others require a group of people that don't seem interested in actually doing anything.

I suppose you could also withdrawal from society. I feel like that’s the equivalent of telling a lower income family that the solution to the problems around them is to move...

I did briefly look at it, but not in detail. You make a good point. And withdrawalling from society is not a good solution, but neither is living in fear and letting it dictate your actions.

We see over and over when Republicans push through a bill that doesn't really address the issues and promise to get back to the issues at a later date, THEY DON'T. It's just another watered down bill to make it look like they are behind resolving the issues while not really doing anything.

I support the more comprehensive Senate bill because it addresses all of the issues now.

134 Democrats supported it in the House.

They don't care anymore. They say they do, but they make it clear they don't. They're guilty of the same nonsense they've spent quite a bit of time lambasting others for over the last 2 years.

Twitter as a news platform is a complete and utter joke. It's incredible how many people have fallen into it.

I guess people have fallen for the "if you can't beat'em, join'em."

I saw the clip and that is not what trump said.  He was saying people (more specifically players) who don't stand for the anthem maybe shouldn't be in the country.  For the record, I disagree with that statement.  But judge him for what he said.  He didn't call out black players.  He talked about people kneeling.  Didn't some white players kneel?  Didn't at least one rich old white dude kneel?  Know she could have said trump "impleyed black players should leave" but even that would be a reach.  But saying he said black players should leave just isn't true and feeds the bull**** fake news idiots.

Trump gives you SO MUCH ammo to attack him with, there is no need to make up or embellish what he says.

As much as he disgusts me I have to agree. But that is what they wanted to hear even though it was as you said. People want to love him or want to hate him. He's that polarizing and weirdly charismatic to many. And knows exactly what he's doing. Sometimes I wonder if he wants people to hate him? We can't know for certain.

This is also an historically proven method for all sorts of ways to destroy your enemies.

I am not one who yells "FALSE FLAG" all the time.. but the possibility must be considered whenever we see these things.. the overt manipulation of our population by our own politicians, outside influences, and our media means that I have little trust in what I am seeing is what it actually is.

If I am right about everything i've said,, these factions are playing for keeps. As in "We are keeping this power by any means necessary."

Must watch... one of the greatest clips in TV history and so appropo to today's information world.

I'm not a math wizards, but by my calculations, that means 50 percent of the country does.

I'm one of the most optimistic people in here on this topic, believe the Blue Wave is real and Trump will be a one term president.  Having said that, I know if I'm wrong the odds of Bang being right increase ten-fold.

This ain't Star Wars, be careful with trusting your feelings and/or confusing them for knowledge.
