  1. Anyone saying Wall is overrated is in for surprise. He was playing at 65% last season and basically couldn't jump. He said he is healthy now, and light years away from where he was entering last season. There is not a defender in the league who can stay in front of him. He will be able to get to the rim at will. The Wiz will be THE place FA want to go next offseason so they can play with Wall. Watch

  2. I have had tickets since 2001. I have been to all but two regular season games. In the same time frame I have attended one preseason game.
I have had tickets since 2002, and have missed 0 reguar season games. The sick part is, in that time I have missed only 2 preseason games - the 2010 preseason awaiting the birth of my daughter. Yup, I am that crazy a-hole who left his wife at home alone with a 3 week old (through 4 month old) to keep my reg season streak alive! And God love her, she was cool with it!
  3. what?

they pulled it out of the price printed on the ticket, but the cost of the seat (as charged by the redskins) was the same.

what the hell are you talking about?

not trying to be combative or offensive. there's just no logic (at least any based in reality) in the post, and i'm trying to figure out what it is that has people so upset about the topic...

SonnyAndSam: not trying to argue with you, or irritate you... but seriously, what is the problem with talking about the true cost of the ticket (fees/taxes included)?

When you signed up for your TV service, the marketed price was (notional) $79.99/month. Once you get your first bill, your service is $79.99 + Fed fee + fed tax + state tax + state fee + regulatory fee + ...... so your price per month is really $95/month. The same applies to cell phone, home phone, milk, eggs, lumber, tools, car and everything else you buy. Why is it an issue when the Redskins do it?

Two words: Dan Snyder. The man could give away $100 to every STH and this board would be filled with people ****ing it wasn't $500.

  4. The stats may seem nice and everything, but if you watch games every night you can tell that his defensive performance is extremely poor and there seems to be no improvement in that category. Blatche's lack of defense probably doesn't help, though.
Defensive performance? His def stats make him a top 15 C. You can argue that C has depreciated recently, but he is a top 15 C.
  5. This is my personal opinion, but I don't think McGee will ever develop into a Top10-15 caliber center. While he might have the talent and the athleticism, he just does not seem smart enough to ever put it all together.

I would love to get Derrick Williams at 2, and sign a guy like Nene to play the 5.

He finished 2nd in the league in total blocked shots (193) and 2nd in the league in blocks per game (2.58). SECOND. That means that he prevented 2.58 baskets per game, and lord knows how many other shots he altered. People love to hate on him, but he is just a pup still. He is 23 years old. The only player I would trade McGee for is Dwight Howard. All the other Cs are older, and not nearly as athletic. McGee has a chance to be an absolute beast runnin with Wall. Look at what he did at the All Star slam dunk contest.

After months of working with the NBA league office and designers with shoe partner adidas, the Wizards will introduce their re-brand with Leonsis, Executive Vice President of Business Operations Greg Bibb, President Ernie Grunfeld, Coach Flip Saunders, Bullets legends Elvin Hayes and Bobby Dandridge. The news conference will be broadcast live on CSN Washington and livestreamed online at www.washingtonwizards.com. Merchandise will go on sale at Verizon Center and online at 11:30 a.m. Fans who donate “gently worn” Wizards jerseys and apparel at Verizon Center between Tuesday and Friday will receive a 10 percent discount. The collected items will be donated to the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program.
While the team has been pretty tight-lipped about the entire re-design, multiple sources have informed me that the current logo — with a wizard shooting out of a crescent basketball — will no longer be the prominent image to represent the franchise.
Something new will replace it, and I hear that it will go a long way toward reconnecting with the past. That wouldn’t be a stretch, considering how Leonsis already established the Bullets-Wizards alumni association and what he did when he made his last significant uniform change with the NHL’s Capitals, essentially modernizing the old look.
  7. The US Soccer Federation finally figured it out! Schedule grueling friendlies against the worlds best when they will play their best players. Don't play Spain when they bring their B side. Don't play Brazil when they bring their junior team. Play the best with the best, it will only help when the real prize rolls around.

  8. Would be nice if our organization would have such good judgment.

"There’s a reason why the Mara and Tisch families are so beloved by Giants fans. They get it. They are also in good enough financial standing to take a step that no other NFL team we know of has taken this offseason.

Speaking with Mike Francessa on WFAN Wednesday, owner John Mara says that Giants season ticket holders won’t have to pay any money to them until there is a new collective bargaining agreement. In addition, Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports the Giants won’t raise ticket prices this year."

Gee, it must be nice to be able to offer that, having just received PSL commitments last year for 65,000 seats that totaled in excess of $10M. See, the fans are paying PSLs in the New Meadowlands. Most have yearly payments to make for at least the next 10 years. Because of this, the Giants have guaranteed income coming in without ticket payments.
  9. Put Nick Young on a decent team and he'll fade into the background. He's only putting up numbers now b/c we have no one else.
Put Nick Young on the floor with an ACTUAL PF, and he becomes a dangerous slasher/spot up shooter. There is no one on this roster that requires perimeter defenders to sag. Our guards never have the room to maneuver you see with the Lakers/Celtics/Magic/Grizzlies/Thunder/Spurs/Rockets/Jazz/Bulls.......We should trade Blatche for a ham sammich and roll with Booker and Seraphin. Wall, Young, Lewis, Booker/Seraphin, McGee. Roll with the youngins. The vets sure as hell ain't gettin it done.
  10. ESPN Live blog basically saying that Qatar has won the 2022 Cup based on handshakes and hugs being exchanged by members of their delegation.

EDIT: Al-Jazeera reporting (seriously) that 2022 bid is between US and Qatar
