  1. Warm/room temperature beer?

omg yuk!! Piss is warm ... lol I know some taste better slightly chilled, some people say, but eff that, I cant drink beer unless its very cold

You can in Germany! Ridiculous beer over there.

Leinenkugal Orange Shandy is a nice fall beer.

  2. Agreed. But if the story is true - I can't fault Weiner for getting mad. I know if I was in his position there..it would be hard to walk away from some douche is simply yelling at me because I married someone who wasn't lily white.

    Anyways...what does the fox say?

    Ring a ding ding ding...

The guy added the Arab comment. His original comment was " You're a real scumbag, asshole."  After a long pause, he added the "And you're married to an Arab."  And Weiner is a politician, and it is pretty obvious he is a scumbag.  The holier than thou "who are you to judge me" routine might hold some water -- IF he weren't running for public office.  His campaign can try to spin the outburst as defending his wife all it wants, but a man known for texting junk pics behind his wife's back really shouldn't be getting into arguments and asking who a voter is to be judging him. He is an idiot.

And since this is the owned thread....

  3. What exactly is your point? Colombia was the runner-up to Canada in the 2000 Gold Cup, and finished 3rd in the 2005 Gold Cup. So Colombia has definitely played in the Gold Cup. They have never won it. They only qualified for it 3 times. Are they in CONCACAF? No. Do they play in the Gold Cup? Yes.

And Colombia is not worthy of being ranked #3 in FIFA. I don't care how well they are playing lately, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, & Italy all have better overall teams and should be ranked ahead of Colombia.

FIFA uses the last 4 years to calculate its rankings. What happened in 2000, 2003, or even 2006 is completely irrelevant.

Colombia were invited to the Gold Cup, which is a CONCACAF (North American) competition. Brazil were also invited to the Gold Cup one year. As was South Korea, Japan, etc. Colombia is in COMNEBOL (South America) and their continental tournament is Copa America.

I am not saying I agree with the rankings, but instead to say that you have a misunderstanding of how they work by citing stuff like the Gold Cup from 2000 or past world cups as an example of their current power. Its incorrect.

And like I said earlier, Colombia has a really talented team and are doing very good in COMNEBOL World Cup qualifying, and could be a dark horse in the tournament next year.

FIFA #3 can't be considered a dark horse. FIFA #3 should be in the handful of teams with a legit shot at winning the WC. I know Colombia is in CONMEBOL. I know they were a guest country of the Gold Cup. I also know that being hot has nothing to do with FIFA rankings. FIFA has an archaic ranking structure, although they did tweak it to 4 years vs 8 years in the mid-200's (I think).

  4. Columbia has been great recently since getting a new manager for the 2014 World Cup Cycle.  Same manager I hope joins the US after he finishes with Columbia if Jurgen leaves.  #3 might be high but they are doing a hell of a job in qualifying.  Remember its more of what have you done LATELY to deserve the rating.  If ratings were based on entire history we wouldn't be even in the top 30 and Mexico sure as heck wouldn't be behind us.

they have a really good side outside of Falcao.

If everyone stays healthy, they could make a run next year in the World Cup.

    >Colombia is #3? FIFA high. There is no reason Colombia should be in the top 10. A team that did not qualify for the previous 2 WC should NEVER be ranked in the top 5 of the FIFA rankings. They have only qualified for the Confed Cup once (2003). They have never won the Gold Cup, only qualifying 3 times.

I mean seriously, can anyone defend them being ranked in the top 5?

maybe you should learn what federation Colombia is in and how FIFA calculates these rankings before you use this as a basis to ask if FIFA are high?

  6. Mexic-0! They of the most fearsome offense in CONCACAF can't score a G to save their lives! 3 home games in WC qualifying, 0 G scored. If Honduras can steal a WCQ at home vs Mexico, Mexico could seriously be looking at playing in the play-in game to get to Brazil.

  7. Anyone have any details on tailgating for Sunday's US-Germany friendly?

EDIT: What times lots open, will there be plenty of parking available if you don't show up at 9am...

  8. War games in the early 2000's involving the Korean peninsula basically conceded that the entire US Military contingent would be wiped out in less than 6 hours. That military contingent is a "show" of force indicating to any aggressor that you wipe them out, the full weight of the US military would respond immediately. If you don't think the US has multiple scenarios already mapped out with how to deal with any offensive from the North you are naive.

  9. Honestly of all the ****ed up things about the Wizards organization, this one to me is the most frustrating. Every year, every year they win down the stretch like the 1980's Celtics and this makes the brass and fans think they are finally putting it together. They think since they are winning down the stretch they have the right coach is place (they don't) they have the right GM in place (they don't) and the plan is working (it isn't).

They don't even know how to tank correctly. They have taken themselves from the third pick to the 9th pick. It is maddening.

If this team was healthy to start the season, we would be battling for the 6th or 7th seed. Not great, but a solid playoff team. Having your guard play be led by a 19 year old for the first 3 months of the season seriously limits your chances. Since Wall came back, we are over .500. I would rather win and add pieces than tank and cross fingers on the lottery. We have been in the lottery how many years in a row? And we have Wall, Beal, Vesely, Singleton and Seraphin to show for it.
