  1. I really want to see this. Zac Efron is effing HOT in the previews for this.

Oh man.....you have no idea. I have a full-fledged Efron crush now. And he is honestly the PERFECT male specimen in this movie. He does no wrong. Not only is he gorgeous, but everything about his character is absolutely flawless. Go see it, I really enjoyed it, and so did my friend who came with me.

    and just for you, ren....

  2. I saw The Lucky One last night and I LOVED it. Such a beautiful story and so romantic. I don't know how Nicholas Sparks makes these male characters who are absolutely perfect men, but he definitely makes it harder for the average man if women expect their men to be as amazing as his creations!

The movie also had fantastic music and really took me through many emotions- the female lead lost her brother in the war (he was a marine) and I could really connect to that feeling, as my brother is a marine and I know it would be devastating.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive ...

  3. Blue Moon is one of the most well-known beers, I had no idea there were people who had never heard of it.

Anyone else going to the Rocktown Beer Festival tomorrow in Harrisonburg? I can't WAIT!

  4. One of my co-workers teases my boss about her coming in with a hangover after drinking too much Blue Moon. I'd never heard of the beer and then the other night I saw a commercial for it for the first time ever. Anyone ever drink this?

blue moon? is this a serious question?

  5. (2007) A freak storm unleashes a species of blood-thirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole-up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.

Uhhhh, yea. I didn't actually watch the whole movie. Only caught the last 20-30 minutes of it while I was at the gym. Let's just say I have no interest in going back and watching the whole thing.

I do see where Frank Darabont did much of his Walking Dead casting.

haha, I saw that a few years ago. Definitely entertaining.

  6. Ok so my car has recently hit 100k miles. I have yet to take it in for its 100k inspection and a new timing belt. Spark Plugs are only a few months old (and yes, they are the good platinum or whatever ones that are supposed to be in there).

I have an '03 Acura TL Type-S, and I am aware of a transmission recall my car had and the previous owner took care of (documented on Acura website with the VIN). My car still has an issue when driving from 1st to 2nd gear (around 30-40mph). It will buck if I am pressing down lightly on the accelerator at these speeds, but I can pick up speed and drive through it. Just an FYI, as I don't know if this issue (or the transmission) has anything to do with what I am experiencing.

In the past month or so, my car has started to shudder or vibrate a little bit at idle. It doesn't shudder every single time I drive, and not every single time I am at idle. When my car DOES shudder, it shudders on and off. The lights on my dashboard dim in and out with the shuddering. My RPMs stay between 0 and 1, but the gauge thing moves a little bit (pardon my not knowing official car words).

The shuddering is not horrible, but it's definitely annoying. It goes away when I start driving again and only sometimes returns when I am at idle again.

Any ideas of what is happening to my precious Acura? I just paid it off, too :(

p.s. my maintenance light is on, but I think that's because I hit 100k miles

  7. No one going to mention Aroldis Chapman hitting 105 on the gun?
I cannot wait to watch this guy throughout his career. He's gonna be special (at least, I hope so).

Congrats to the Texas Rangers (really, the Washington Senators :pfft:) for winning their division.

I saw him pitch in person yesterday. When the pitch speed came up on the board, lots of people gasped when they saw that it was 100mph. Chris Denorfia still hit off of him and we won the game :)

  8. Say what? Splain plz. :)

2 outs, and Hairston was on first. Batter hit the ball, it hit the pitcher's glove, then rolled past him towards the second baseman. Hairston was running to second, and he ran between the ball and the 2nd baseman, who rushed up to grab it. Hairston got to 2nd base, and the runner ended up being safe on first.

Umpire called Hairston out for interference with the 2nd baseman. It is questionable because the pitcher initially touched the ball, so it can be argued that since he had had a chance to field the ball, then it shouldn't matter.

Anyway, it makes sense if you watch the replay.

So Bud Black told the ump that the Padres were going to play the remainder of the game in protest. I read up on what that means, and basically, the manager can say the game is under protest if he disagrees with the ump's ruling. At the end of the game, the rules will be reviewed by a committee, and they can overturn the ump's call or say it stands.

If the call stands, that's that. If the committee overturns the call, the game will be replayed from the point in the game that the protest call was made.

  9. I am strongly considering buying MLB.tv just to watch every Padres game with Dick Enberg

That guy is really one of the best

We can't watch Padres games at my apartment :( Cox has a monopoly on the broadcasting of the games. Time Warner customers can get it, but we are unable to get cable in our complex at all. It's satellite only here.

So you'd think we could get mlb tv and watch the games? No. Blacked out.

Sad thing is, most sports bars don't show Padres games either, because most of them have DirecTV, not cable.

    I hate Cox.

  10. I used to like the Braves because I was in love with Dave Justice. Same reasoning that I like the Indians. But he didn't make me like the Yankees.

and yes, ironic that I just made fun of Giles bc he was a wife beater when Justice was one as well
