Thats simply because 1) their throwbacks match current colors (IE Dolphins, Packers - Yellow helmet, blue/yellow jersey) or 2) the decals are switched to match the uniforms (IE - Rams). Ours is close enough. not sure why the huge concern. I applaud the staff for the little things (no stripes/gray facemask) to make an attempt while being handcuffed by the NFL's CYA rule.

1. Its CYA on the concussion front. 2. It's a Branding thing. They want the teams brands/colors to be easily recognizable. If you have one helmet, you can't stray from the color combo (IE - Jets blue/gold, Eagles blue/yellow, other odd throwbacks, etc) However, teams try to do their best to get around it. Redskins wear a darker jersey, but same helmets. Rams keep the dark blue helmet, but brighter gold ram head, etc.

Yup. I hate the rule, gives some teams the ability to do throwbacks and some not. Like the Dolphins can just replace stickers, the Rams still have the navy instead of the royal blue and they change the gold to yellow ram sticker, etc. This is actually pretty good giving what they have to deal with. I would, though, like to see the logo on the sleeve on the helmet, but that is completely me.

2016 Matchups with Jersey Colors confirmed by Opponent Sites. This is assuming the Redskins don't wear gold jerseys as stated, and color on color isn't allowed per the NFL rules. at Giants - Blue / Redskins White Bengals - Black (London Away) / Redskins White Panthers - White (MNF Fedex) / Redskins Burgundy Giants - White / Redskins Burgundy

My guess, is the fact that teams can't go outside of their color combos. For example - the rams still use the dark blue helmet, and change the gold stripe to yellow, and wear lighter blue/yellow jerseys. We all know the skins, Steelers, etc still use same colors or close to. With the 1 helmet rule, the helmet color can't change. So you won't have the broncos (brown/yellow), eagles (light blue/yellow), jets (blue/gold), etc. I would assume thats the angle they are playing?

Everyone knows that reason is frankly crap. You can't tell me that another helmet isn't made for a player if something happens to their first. The NFL does want the brand recognition, and they've said that before. I'm not sure why they push it, because the NFL is so popular. But i think they want to avoid the throwbacks that are nothing like the teams uniforms today. Anywho, I just read an old article, I must have missed in here, that Bruce Allen turned down a white on white request from the players. I love the gold pants, love them. But i love the white on white look, as well as mixing it up with other combos. Kind of surprised that Bruce single handedly shut something down, from the players request. I read in a post in here from someone (and who the heck knows if he/she is lying or not) that apparently knew someone and said not to be surprised at some uniform combinations this year, including white on white for some games. With the players wanting it...who knows, but it would be pretty cool!

You asked for it: 1. To make the playoffs boosts every single players confidence, as well as the coaches. 2. Teams rally behind things, playoffs can be one of them. 3. While the Any Given Sunday mantra is over used, look at the wild card steelers, or giants - clicked at the right time. 4. Coming back as division winners next year can attract some FA pieces we are missing.
-
So for those writing Bruce about not liking the uniforms and expecting a response about the change...do you realize people can be writing him stating the opposit, that they love them? He's not going to read a few pieces of fan mail about the uniforms and say "Darn, I need to change them". Frankly, I love the look. Yes, i'm a huge fan of white on white, but I love the white on (Insert your interpretation of the gold pants here cause I don't want to argue).

I always have space available!! To me, the NFL has ridiculous rules around helmets and uniforms. I'd like the teams to have options, and what would be cool with the Redskins is the ability to incorporate some of their heritage, like your helmet above. MLB teams do quite a good job at having alternate caps/uniforms, and it doesn't get out of hand. Why can't the NFL do it too?
