There is more than just the insurrection to charge him with.

The insurrection and election fraud charges should take precedence, though...devote your resources to building those cases first.

EDIT: although I should also say, I do remember reading how Garland was concerned about the DoJ looking like it was continuing to be weaponized against the political rivals of the president like it was under Trump, and that played a role in him not immediately going after the past actions of Trump...but the insurrection attempt and election fraud stuff was too big and needed immediate attention.

See Buzz's post.  Or all the everything else done in our country by the rich and powerful.  January 6th hardly the beginning of all of this.

Garland was sworn in in March, 2021...any investigations into the insurrection under his watch could not have started before then. So do you think a year and 4 months is enough time for the DoJ to build rock solid, undeniable cases against Trump and his cohorts in Congress?

No.  I've learned that there is no justice.  We've lost our country to corruption, and I don't know what it will take to ever get it back.

Pretend for a second that the DoJ really is going after Trump and a number of congress members...do you think they'd be done with their investigation(s) into seditious conspiracy against them in a year and a half?

When he has been doing blatantly illegal things out in the open for the last 5+ years?  Yea, I did.

I bet if you or me did half the stuff that family and admin has done, we'd be in a cell doing time by now.  The fact that isn't the case IS a reason for pitchforks in the capital.

That's why I said congress members and the ex-president. The ramifications of going after politicians based on "Well, the public seems to think there's more than enough evidence" would be catastrophic. The ramifications of going after the guy who works at Home Depot, not so much. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if the DoJ went after Trump and he WON his case in court and was found not guilty...that could possibly be worse than not going after him at all. But, yes, the DoJ is indeed going after him, at least in terms of Jan 6th and a few other issues. I'm actually thankful they don't give a rat's ass what the public thinks in terms of how or when or length of time needed to do so.
