  1. Damn shame we’re not facing Ryan who is a shell of himself from his great Falcons days. Although he has had some solid games against us. This new qb Sam Ehlinger is a 2021 6th rounder who beat out Nick Foles as their backup. He kind of reminds me of Howell but maybe not as good.

I watched the Colts highlights from yesterday and their defense just isn’t as solid as past years. Taylor doesn’t look the same and Pittman can be covered by St Juste. This is certainly a winnable game!

  2. Bring back Chase on a snap count. Let him start and come in on situational downs. JSW has played well and deserves to play. If we can get a rotation of Chase, Sweat, Toohill, Odabe, and JSW that makes our pass rush that much better and allows Holcomb and Jamin to roam more freely.

By the way big kudos to Jamin who after JDR called him out has been so solid! Way to step up Jamin.

Did anyone else think Mclaurin was still on the field when he ripped his helmet off, celebrating?  It was zoomed in and hard to tell but I don't think he was out of bounds yet. So I was like please don't flag him, please don't flag him.

Yea I saw it. Don’t think he was completely on the sideline but don’t think he was gonna get flagged. I have never seen Terry more fired up since that play. Reading his lips he was hot. Probably from all the frustration over the first six games and not getting the ball much.

Say what you want about Heinicke and his lack of arm strength but he looks for Terry often as he should and hopefully Wentz will do so too.

it was a good win, but he's still not the answer. at some point i still want to see howell and draft a qb. heinicke is a much better than average backup, but not a starter for any long term sustained success.

I don’t think anyone is saying Heinicke is the long term answer but he is gritty and almost wills the team to a win.

Hey 3-4 is so much better than 2-5!

Why do I have this bad feeling that we are going to win today.

Then this board will be insufferable with the Heinke talk.

    Long siggggghhhhhhhhhh.

Probably true but if you’re a real fan, you don’t care about that just getting a win is all that is important. Getting to 3-4 would be huge!

  6. Heinicke is much more mobile than Wentz. I hope to see a lot more roll outs and bootlegs behind a suspect line. If we look poor on offense the next couple games, then put in Howell so he can get his feet wet and gain some experience. Putting him in now behind that line is recipe for disaster.

  7. With the Packers next, I assume Ron will start Heinicke instead of a rookie against a tough team. If we get demolished, then hopefully Ron will actually consider Sam to play against the Colts. I highly doubt it because Ron is very stubborn.

Say what you want about Wentz but the guy is tough. He played almost the entire 2nd half with a broken finger and he had some tight spirals on most of his throws. He also does recover pretty quick. He had back issues last year and just played through it. I could see him back much quicker than 6 weeks.

Turner gives an overview and how Wentz can adjust protections but not necessarily the play in some cases.

Listening to Scotts presser it sounds like Dyami will barely play and Cole Turner could be in line for some targets. Finally!

Our strengths were supposed to be our skilled positions like our wideouts and the depth we have at TE. I like Bates but he is not gonna scare any defense. If we can get Turner and Rodgers running down the seam, it will open up it up for Terry and Samuels on the outside. Cmon Scott come up with an effective game plan and be open to adjusting in-game!

Uh, we have no idea. Ron was hired on Jan. 1, 2020 just 3 days after the season ended.

If Dan wasn’t locked onto Ron, we have no idea who he would’ve gone after or was able to get.

You can bet when the Rivera era ends; Dan will have locked on to someone. Whether that be puppet Gm or head coach.

Even when Dan interviewed multiple coaches in 2004, Dan was locked on trying to lure Gibbs out of retirement. If Gibbs had said no, his coach would’ve been his second choice.

So, expect history to repeat itself in the future.  When it looks like Ron is a goner, pay attention to who Dan invites to sit with him. Eyebrows should be raised if you see a Gm or coach; sitting with Dan. Also, keep an eye on Snyder One.

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/01/05/report-dan-snyder-met-with-rick-smith-before-hiring-ron-rivera/

There were several reports that Snyder was gonna hire and already interviewed some people for the GM position. He has always be enamored with a big name especially after hiring Jay Gruden. So he hires Ron and then no GM is ever hired? Ron wanted full control.

  10. Remember guys when we brought in Ron, there wasn’t many big names wanting to come here. I believe Snyder had to give Ron full authority in order to get him.

BIG MISTAKE! Ron has never shown to be a good personnel guy and his overall draft choices (like Davis) and free agents (like Will Jackson) that have been brought in reflect his poor decisions.

Also stop using injuries as an excuse for the poor play. Every frickin team has injuries. GET OVER IT RON!

  11. If Snyder actually was a good owner, he would bring in a real football guy to be the GM. Ron is just not a good GM/Head coach. Time and again, teams that have hired someone to do both have failed. Remember Mike Holmgren? Seattle gave him the keys to the franchise and he didn’t do much although he did take them to the Superbowl once. He was a pretty good darn coach with Green Bay but couldn’t duplicate those results.

Seattle has had some good football guys in the front office with John Schneider currently. This year was supposed to be rebuilding year but they are looking pretty decent with frickin Geno Smith at qb.

Mayhew has the title of GM but he’s downright awful. He was awful in Detroit. Get rid of him and bring in someone who has the authority on final say. Alas I don’t think that will happen.

If we could only luck into a great set of coaches...

Snyder is an AHole. He basically gave the middle finger to Mike Shanahan and there was no way that Kyle was gonna stick around here. If Mike is The Godfather then what is Gruden? He had Sean, LaFleur and Kevin OConnell on the staff.

I would like us to get an offensive guy who can put his imprint on this offense. May have to look at someone on Seans or Kyles coaching staff ala Mike Daniels/Zac Taylor.

In an animated call with reporters on Monday, Rivera said he knows fans are unhappy with a 1-3 start after the promise of an improved team behind new quarterback Carson Wentz.  "I understand everybody's frustration," Rivera said. "Especially with how proud this organization is. S---, this organization's got five championships. Are you f------ kidding me.  "I get it. I understand how important it is to win. OK? But I've got to be realistic with what we have and what we're trying to do.

"I understand the history of what's gone on here for a while, and we're trying to change that, but it's not going to happen overnight - it's not going to be easy," Rivera said. "If anybody thought it was gonna be easy, they're crazy.”

These statements from Ron are fire-able offenses to me! Is he actually calling us fans out for expecting a better performance than what we have seen? Where is he holding himself accountable first? Hey Ron how about that delayed red flag or going for 2?  Where is owning the fault on those plays?I’ve been behind him giving him the benefit of the doubt but this doesn’t help his cause.

  14. I do think there is some truth to Ron losing the locker room. Long time coaches need to have a certain pedigree in order to maintain the team ala Belichick, Reid or Tomlin. But I think the underlying issue is the entire culture of the team which starts with Snyder.

Ron had a pass his first year when he unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer. Last year, we won 7 games with Heinicke at qb and that was the reasoning he used to say we couldn’t get over the top. At some point the mantra of “we need to correct some things” falls on deaf ears and it boils down to certain personnel.

Ron hasn’t shown to draft particularly well and he has been so bias to former players. At this point, we need to really shake things up. I’m not sure what that involves but I do think Ron needs to really challenge the players and coaches as I don’t think Ron is going anywhere. He can do it in private or public but I’m tired of the “Mr Nice Guy” routine.

the coaches have seen enough of Daniel Jones on film to realize that until they can find a replacement

Daboll essentially called out Jones in camp saying he needed to show improvement and the team did not pick up his 5th year option. After a pick by Jones a couple weeks ago, you saw Daboll ripping into Jones on the sidelines.

Im not saying Ron needs to be the same way but he needs to hold his players accountable!
