Rivera brought Wentz for a reason...one was so Taylor wasn't starting anymore...
And there is a draft choice to consider by playing Wentz. -

He said "I also think he wants to" that's his opinion not fact.
That's the whole point of a message board is to give your opinion.
Nothing wrong with that.
You can have your opinion. I’m mocking the fact that you guys seem to know what Ron is thinking and gonna do. You guys could certainly be right but Ron didn’t name Taylor starter for the rest of the season because it gives him wiggle room. -

He’s really stuck. I also think he really wants to, but he knows the guys are behind Taylor and he also probably doesn’t want to put Wentz into a situation where he’s the bad guy who took Taylor’s job.
I think Ron also believes they can win this way against the Giants.
The game which I don’t think they have a chance in hell of winning this way is the 49ers. Or Dallas if they aren’t resting people.
I would t be entirely shocked if they go with TH for the Giants, and unless he actually plays well, makes a change over the bye week.
Now you’re Dr Phil and knows the mindset of Ron? Yikes. Whats next calling Ms Cleo to predict the future?

You’re 100% right.
21 other guys saved TH’s starting job for another week.
Sure glad guys like you aren’t coaching this team. Stick with peewee football- 1

I don’t get all the Heinicke haters. No one is saying he’s the future of the franchise but he is now! I have a buddy who thinks we should lose out to get a higher draft pick for a qb. That kind of mindset to me is not a true fan! Even if we get a high drafted qb, there’s no guarantee of anything. Hell look at Trey Lance. Its about getting into the playoffs and seeing what happens right? 2 years ago we barely won our division and took the eventual Superbowl winners to the brink. You can’t possibly win if you’re not in the dance.

Mariota looked good though
Sure running but he is not a good passer -
Whether Ron stays or goes, I seriously don’t ever want a college head coach. There is a clear learning process for any college coach. Sure some exceptions like Pete Carroll but more failures than success.
I mention this because I remember Chip Kelly said that Marcus Mariotta would eventually win a Superbowl! What happened to that guy. He was a #2 pick overall like Wentz yet played in a big time conference. I can’t imagine him throwing any worse with his left hand.
Kudos to a win that keeps us in the playoff hunt which is nice so we have meaningful games in December!

The team never said statue. The media said statue. This type of media stuff is awful. And i think attacking dan here is a bad
look. This Sean setup is just like every other player focused item in the stadium. Now i think they should have done a statue and they really screwed this up.
Call it what you want. Bottom line is that tribute is awful and disgraceful IMHO.- 5

Not feeling great about Heinicke throwing a wet, heavy ball around in a soaker. Any throw more than 10 yards downfield might be in suspended animation.
Looks like in warmups Taylor isn’t wearing gloves so maybe he will be fine. -

They shouldn’t have called it a statue. On the other hand, I may have been the only one who was thinking a statue was a bit too much for Taylor. Statues should be reserved for Skins legends, the ones who helped transform the franchise. So a part of me was glad it wasn’t a statue. But they should have called it an installation in tribute to Sean Taylor. Actual statues can then be left for the Baughs, Gibbs and Monks of the team’s history.
But even as an installation it’s lacking. Looks like something you’d put kn the team store lol…
I kinda agree with you. It’s not like Sean brought a championship like Magic or Kobe but if you’re gonna do a tribute for arguably the best safety we ever had, they could have done better than a Weekend at Bernies tribute! -
OMG! What a pathetic tribute! Would a solid stone statue break the bank Dan?

I’ve been as anti-Milne as anyone all year as the PR but today is not the best day to be breaking in a new guy. Muffed punt in these conditions is a real possibility
If Dotson is doing the returns, I’m not worried about it at all. Hes sure handed and he would do better on one leg than Dax as a returner. -
Sucks about St Juste being out but no Falcons receiver scares me other than Pitts at TE. Mariotta needs to be contained from running and we should be fine on defense.
As for the argument about keeping Payne or Sweat, I think a lot has to do with how Chase looks coming back. If he regains his rookie form, then it’s easier to let Sweat go, bring in a rookie with Toohill, Smith-Williams and Obada playing a lot. I was initially against resigning Payne but a line of him, Jonathan, Mathis and Ridgeway is awfully good right up the middle.

One thing Rivera has always had going for him is the ability to develop mid round draft pick DBs. Did it in Carolina with Norman and Bradberry. Seems to be doing it again with St. Juste and Forrest here. I'd avoid spending big on FAs at those positions and just keep trying to draft em.
I would tend to agree as it is risk or boom w free agent corners. Look at Jackson or Bradberry who the Giants just flat out released. Who knows how Percy or Holmes will develop and while St Juste will be fine as our #1, we could use a solid #2 which is easier to find through the draft or free agency. -
I was one of the ones who thought it was good that JDR called out Jamin after the Jax game. Gotta give credit to Jamin to man up and I’m looking forward to him eventually making himself into a pro bowl lb!

Our Cowpoke castoff Ridgeway, the self proclaimed "Vanilla Gorilla", was wrecking things like Godzilla last week.
He also low key caused the fumble that helped nail down the win on the Jamin Davis tackle/facemask play.
(#91 in video)
Ridgeway has been a very good pickup especially after Mathis got hurt. Guy is a space eater and that play is against Kelce arguably the best center in foot.
He should remain in at least a 3 man rotation at tackle next year especially if we don’t resign Payne although it would be better to have him in a 4 man rotation with Payne back. We will see how it plays out.

I think Chris Harris deserves a lot of credit for the development of not only Forest but St Juste and Curl. All these guys were 3rd round or later picks and have developed into a very good secondary.- 7

I mentioned this video before but for those who missed it. Not a big fan of replicating the chains ala Cousins but look at the beer he’s drinking. Busch!1 hour ago, Always A Commander Never A Captain said:
I hope Cosmi gets back to starting full time with Lucas as the backup. Turner has played well recently and I was happy to have Norwell and Larsen playing despite being hurt. Continuity is such a key at the offensive line.

I don’t want to see him ever again. I’m not in the “Hive”, but the team seemed so flat with Wentz and he was awful. It just appears to me that the players try harder for Heineke.
Remember all the stories about Wentz in Philly and the players not liking him. Maybe he’s more likable now but football to me can be such an emotional game and having someone who guys will run through a brick wall goes a long way. Taylor is that guy and unfortunately it seems like Wentz is not.- 1

That shipped sailed when we started winning again and then last night after beating the Eagles.
You would think so but look at the amount of posts in the Eagles game thread from last night. So many fans who aren’t happy we won because Heinicke isn’t the long term answer. -

I believe I wrote Heinicke is winning and they should stay with him.
Not directed at you necessarily but all the rest who seem to want the team to lose to get a high draft pick for a potential franchise qb.

What an embarrassment to the team let alone the family of Sean. Just another notch to Dan selling the team!
