It's the boring part of the offseason where they have to be as controversial and outrageous as possible to get attention.

    This segment was clearly effective.

    fair 😂

Still ridonkulous from a normally savvy nfl voice.

I don’t have time tonight but will be interested to check that out tomorrow. I’m very surprised to hear Kimes would have such an outrageous take, she’s intellectually honest and generally “gets it” in my view. That’s sort of shocking.

I’d bet a large amount of loot that DQ could go 0-17 next season without any risk of being let go.

I’d expect someone of her gravitas to understand this…

Part of it sounded like she bought into the narrative that DQ wasnt the first choice even though that was debunked, but maybe she knows something we dont?

Ugh, I am sick and tired of these streaming services taking our ballgames! Soon we will have to pay monthly bills to Hulu, Netflix, paramount, pea****, Amazon, and HBO max just to watch every game. Smh.

    Bootleg is the way.

crackstreams or worldcupfootball both offer sites that will stream all the games.

I havent paid for Sunday Ticket in 10 years.

Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? Probably not.

    Definitely not.

If MM is playing then this team is not playing for anything meaningful other than higher draft pick.

    Same thing w Brissett.

I could care less about the backup either way as in a previous post I think this clears the deck for a "QB Controversy-less" season. NOBODY is going to be banging a table to get MM in the game, that's for sure 😂

Isn't Brissett proven to be a better passer and leader and competitor than Mariota? And by enough in all three areas to be considered a definite, though not a big, notch up overall in the role?

Brissett is objectively more reliable and consistent than Mariota.

Not sure by a wide enough margin to warrant the extra $2 million guaranteed, though.

Maybe JB thinks he has a better chance to play by going back to Ne?

  5. It seems like a decent amount of fans want Mayhew gone.

    Im wondering why?

He isnt redskins royalty or anything but he was a great player in Washington and part of the best team of all time (‘91).

And by all accounts he didnt have much power during the ron era.

    I hope Mayhew sticks around.

I still wish we had held onto Howell and his first contract salary cap hit or Brissett if the vet was required.

    I felt this way initially.

But after having some time to digest it all, Mariota is the perfect choice.

This way there is zero chance any fans clamor for the backup to get in the game…

Id challenge you to find a single skins fan that wants to see MM start or play. Ill wait 😂

Howell is a good dude, landed in a good spot and has a great chance to make some noise up there with the sea chickens. He’ll either beat Geno in camp, or get in the game when Geno gets banged up, which he has a habit of. That happens Geno could get wally pipped.

The right move for the commanders was to either commit to him or move on and fully commit to the new guy.

Curious what was the issue this year, someone mentioned injury and OL is definitely a cascade issue position where injuries can cause unformal play to fall off, and not just that of the injured player themself. Kinda wonder if Coleman getting dinged, and maybe other line problems influenced it. Who knows. Does seem like amongst the guys we could have taken, he is a higher ceiling type, definitely potential, for me, as mentioned before, I like that we could play him in multiple positions along the line. We basically have a stop gap LT, a plug and play LG who wasn't a starter last year, stud C and RG, and a guy who played mostly like crap last year but people seem to believe it wasn't really his fault at RT, and then the depth chart couldn't beat out Lucas playing his worst season, horror show LG play, injuries at C, and yuck at RT, so for me anyway, I figure that guy could probably be plugged into LG, LT, and RT in an emergency.

I think, assuming no more additions are made, they will have an open competition in camp and he very well could win the job this year. Im not even against it at this point.

I dont follow TCU too closely, so not entirely sure why the dropoff and less snaps at LT in ‘23 but I’m hearing it was due to roster changes and need. One thing I can say thats universally true is that college coaches could care less about preparing a kids’ resume for the next level…

Its similar to the pros in that its one week at a time and those coaches just need to win at all cost next Saturday.

Will he be unable to play QB in the NFL if he has a different jersey number?

You’re probably best served by suspending disbelief and just trusting the notion that its important to some and tied to their identity.

    I see it both ways.

Some players wont change their socks or underwear when on a winning streak.

Others have other superstitions like eating certain meals, meditating before the game, or other pregame rituals.

According to some psychologists it does have an impact:

Correction:  Portis promised to pay Ohalete but didn't actually pay him until threatened with a law suit years later.  I lost a lot of respect for Clinton after that. His involvement in the medical equipment scheme confirmed to me that he is a POS and I won't change that opinion simply because he was a good player.

thats true. I think he paid him half and then stiffed him on the other half. Definitely a dumb thing to do by Portis. He paid his debt to society, though, and will always be one of my favorite players.
