Had the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout last night. Creamy texture, chocolate up front with a ton of roasty bitterness on the back end. Really good stuff, obviously. Chocolate stouts are up there as one of my favorite styles of beer, so it's tough competition to say the least. This wasn't my favorite chocolate stout ever, but it's very close.
I've heard that one benefits tremendously with a couple years on it. I've been sitting on a few to see for myself. I'll try to crack one soon.

Nate Diaz was always good on the ground, adding some boxing skills is a good step in improving as an overall fighter. Much like his brother, Nate's pace was too much to overcome. He never stopped coming forward and always was looking to throw punches in bunches. Cerrone might not have been "hurt" but he was definitely slowly busted up not just physically, but mentally as well. His will was broken down. Even when he swept Diaz a few times he wanted no part of the ground game, rightly so. Something the Diaz bros do that doesn't get the credit it deserves is show that good techinical striking doesn't always have to mean having power. They use their work rate and output combined with the outrageous cardio and just smother their opponents. Sure, 1 or 2 "50% power" punches don't hurt, but how about 50 of them? Over and over....and then just when you go to take a breath here comes a handful to the body.
This really is easy to over look. I think even more importantly then your point on this is that it stops their opponent in their tracks from whatever there game plan is. They have no time to start their attack or regroup after trying to start one. They just keep getting popped. Nate looked like Nick tonight. Nate looked great.

Just picked up a sixer of Resurrection. It's excellent. If it's available in your area, I strongly suggest that you pick some up. It used to only be available on draft. The store limits you to 2 six packs per customer. I guess it's a limited canning thing.
Also got a six-pack of Oskar Blues "Old Chub" It's a Scottish Ale. It's also sold in cans. I wish more craft brewers would package their brews in cans.
They are on their way. Every week I hear that a brewery is going to start canning. A few good ones already do. The best I've had is Surly from Minnesota.

They're still negotiating, but I think the idea is to air the series on Fuel.
Either way, Chach's boy Leben wouldn't fit into their plans for that show. It is more about Country than anything else. That is why they were ok putting this together even with Vitor about to fight. Win or lose, they wanted this for the show.
And I'm actually excited about the matchup. I've wanted to see Wandy get a rematch for years. I hope he didn't wait too long though. His chin isn't what it used to be.
-
I'd rather see Belfort-Leben. Too bad Chris got himself suspended.
That wouldn't have worked this is TUF Brasil. All Portuguese. Won't be aired here. I'm betting we get highlights on their new MMA news show on FX (or is it Fuel?).
-
Looking at it from their perspective, they've probably heard every excuse in the book used and abused by fighters between boxing & mma.
But they aren't dealing with a multiple offender. Overeem has never failed a test (has he?). They had no right to be such dicks. Kizer is a prick.

Turns out Torres was qout9ing the great Comedy Central show Workaholics. If he would have hash tagged the show I think he'd be fine. It was funny on the show in context. As a one-liner on twitter, it just sounds stupid.

Miguel Torres cut by UFC for making rape joke on Twitter
by Geno Mrosko on Dec 8, 2011 8:30 PM EST in UFC News

Miguel Torres recently made an offensive joke on Twitter involving rape. The backlash was immediate, as both fans and members of the MMA media took him to task for making such an insensitive quip on such a touchy subject.
He responded with confusion and anger. His central defense was everything should be okay to joke about or nothing should.
Well, UFC President Dana White doesn't agree. In fact, he informed Sports Illustrated today that Torres has been cut from the UFC for his remarks:
"This morning I'm on [Michael] Landsburg's show, up here in Canada, and he hits me with the quote of what he tweeted. Now there's no explanation for that. There's absolutely nothing I could say to make any sense of that. And the fact that he even thinks that's funny or that's a joke, it disturbs me. It bothers me. Again, you're dealing with a guy that's a smart guy, that owns his own business, that's been one of the top fighters in the world forever. And I cut him today. He's no longer with the UFC. It's being announced right now to you. You're the only one that knows. Miguel Torres has been cut from the UFC and his career with us now is over."
Apparently Torres tweeted:
If rape vans were called surprise vans more women would want to go for rides. Everyone likes a surprise
Horrible "joke". Don't know what he was thinking.

When did this get announced?
This is from the UFC on Fox 2 presser. Bisping taking less than 2 months off. Great matchup. I'll take Maia
-
GSP is just scared, Homie. Diaz would fight with no ACL, MCL, or elbow joint.
-
Michael Bisping has put himself in a position where he needs to fight someone serious at middleweight.
Sonnen
Belfort
Munoz
Okami
Maia
I hope he's polished up his ground game.
Bisping loses to all those guys except Okami if the Okami that fought Silva and Franklin shows up. He can beat that Okami.

I don't think Mayhem is a superstar by any stretch, but something was clearly off with him tonight. I don;t know why they were running with the adrenaline dump theory. I think he was either sick or hurt and missed training. We'll have to wait and see. He normally comes out so loose and he was tense, pale, and tired before he even stepped in the cage.
Dana said he may be done after a performance like that. I hope he gets another shot on an undercard.

Beer that needs fruit

Ok, I'm the first to admit when I am wrong so here goes.
I reviewed a Corona Extra some time ago and I thought it tasted like socks, tonight I was eating at a Mexican resaurant and ordered una Corona, it came with the lime and against my better judgment I squeezed the lime into the bottle and then pushed the lime into the neck....I was wrong about not fruiting the beer, with Corona by all means fruit that puppy and enjoy your order of carnitas! After my 2nd Corona I was satisfied that with Corona I was wrong and with the lime it is perfect. Yes I am still a dark beer lover but Corona won me over as well tonight.
Anything in a clear or green bottle has a 50% chance of being skunked before you get to it. A lime will help hide that and also hope hide the lack of flavor in a Corona and make it enjoyable in the right setting.
In high school in Puerto Rico we used to drink the little bit of beer in the neck and then pour a shot of Bacardi Limon in it instead of a lime. Good stuff. Keep meaning to try that again...

Condit rematching Ellenberger would make all the sense in the world, so it obviously won't happen.
Unless your name is Carlos Condit.Condit beat him and hasn't lost yet. That fight doesn't do him any good. Makes a lot of sense for Ellenberger though.

Chuck Liddell and Quinton Jackson faced off for a third time last week in Las Vegas, but this time, they met in video game form. The fighters, who met at PRIDE Final Conflict 2003 and UFC 71, played 'UFC Undisputed 3'
Thought this was really funny did anyone see this? I really want to get this game if you can play pride rules and soccer kick guys on the ground.
See the sig

I hope Diaz waits out a title shot. I am not normally for that kind of thing, but I really want to see him fight GSP. He's been ****ing (as usual) about his non-stop schedule, so give him a break here and then a title shot.
-
Pumped for this. Don't know who I want to win. I guess BJ. Really want to see Diaz-GSP though.
-
Yeah, that is what popped into my head, he gets the winner of that fight. Seems pretty logical.
What about Frank the Wank?

I was huge into watching and collecting Wrestling tapes from about 97-2004ish.
Is there a market for these tapes? I just lost a bunch of storage space and need to get rid of them.
I can't find my old list of what I have but it is pretty extensive. Includes 98% of all the Raws and Smackdowns in that time span, Most PPVs, and also the tsuff I bought and traded for like most In Your House events, bunch of Manias, Summer Slams, SS, etc, Best of RVD ECW, Best or Raven, Taz, Sabu, Best of Japan 1996 review, Best of Jushin Thunder Liger, Great Muta, Sting..... just a ton of stuff. Three giant boxes. I'd hate to just throw away all that stuff after all the money and effort I put into, but also never see myself watching them again.
Any chance I could find a taker on this stuff or is it DVD or nothing these days?
If I find the whole list I can post it.
