  1. I've got $1 dollar that when the bell rings Sonnen goes to his back and invites Silva to his guard:ols:
  2. What do you guys think of Munoz-Okami? Munoz is a decent sized underdog. Thinking of betting on him.
  3. I can definitely see some upsets there. I've got great seats for the Versus show so I hope the Janitor at least makes it interesting. Nelson has a great shot against Santos. His ground game is a good as anyone in the division. He just needs to get the fight there. BJ needs a new gameplan. He should go for the takedowns and initiate clinches. He run around the cage and try to win a point boxing match with Frankie. Randy better not mess around for a second with Toney. Takedown and start pounding. Rinse, repeat.
  4. Anderson went a little too far against Maia, but I don't blame him for his style. He is the champ. You have to go take that belt from him. Just look at the Fedor-Werdum fight. It doesn't make any sense to jump into someone else's world. I hope Sonnen is a man of his word and takes the fight to Silva. I also hope the ref doesn't mess the finish of this one up. No early stoppages. Can't leave any window for Sonnen to find an excuse. It's too bad Franklin is at 205 now. I would love to see a school teacher kick Sonnen's ass next. I do love his **** talking though. Doing a hell of a job selling the fight and himself for that matter. He's a smart dude.
  5. That's how I see it. Easy/non-exciting decision for Machida. That is one reason why I wanted to see Thiago Silva-Rampage. Those two would be a hell of a fight. Also it would leave some confusion in the rankings which I think can be a good thing. Especially with Shogun on the shelf recovering. I don;t know that is that exciting to have the winner of Rampage-Machida be waiting for the winner of Rashad-Shogun. I'd rather see them mix the conteders up a little. I don't think Thiago should have fallen as far down as it looks like he has. Lil' Nog, Ryan Bader, and Jon Jones (if he gets past Janitor) can all be mixed in with the top contenders, and then when we see how long it will take for the winner of Shogun-Rashad to be able to defend their title we can see who has had the best run to that point. Instead we are going to be stuck with fighters waiting around for "their shot". Fighters who have already had their shot. Better to just keep everyone more active and mix things up, imo. But it is a hell of fight between the #3 and #4 contenders that if we waited for we may never get, so I am looking forward to it. Machida by UD
  6. I'd rather see Rampage-Thiago Silva. Not sure Rampage's and Machida's styles will make for as great a fight.
  7. I don't blame you. Out here I don't even see them in 6-packs. It's $4 for a 22oz down the street. Oaked is a little more. I think you guys get gauged pretty good by your distributes. Stone is it's own distributor out here as well as distributing for a Port/Lost Abbey, Ale Smith, Russian River, and a bunch of other great breweries.
  8. I wouldn't call Arrogant **** an IPA. Probably falls under the general term "American Strong".
  9. My brother gets a bunch of his stuff from Total Wine.
  10. I never remember Lytle is the guy Serra beat to get his shot at GSP. Have to wonder if Lytle would have gotten the upset if he got by Serra. The way Serra won makes me believe he could have. Then who knows where these guys are.
  11. For the Dana haters. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=12077&zoneid=13
  12. 1,000 times better than a strikeforce showtime card or anything Bellator has put together. Do you look forward to those?
  13. Just had their "Hoppe" and "Unearthy" last night. Both IPAs. Didn't like the Hoppe. Unearthy is pretty good. I'm go9ing to try the oaked version tonight. If you ever see their "Chokolat" Buy as many as you can. It is fantastic.
  14. Where would this sport be without Dana White? He might not be perfect, but he's as close as it gets for me for what he does. I'll take him over Goddell, Selig, Stern, or anyone else. MMA is where it is today because of him. The future events in China and Australia along with hearing plans for TUFs in other countries are a glimpse into the long term plan for the UFC. They will have fights every week one day. The free ones will look like free ones. I'm just happy to have them. I will never complain about a free card. You were orignally mad at the card because of the UFC drought around it. There are 7 Zuffa events from August 1st until October 1st. 7!!!!!!!!!!! 2 months, 7 events. - UFC ON VERSUS 2: AUGUST 1 IN SAN DIEGO - UFC 117: AUGUST 7 IN OAKLAND - WEC 50: AUGUST 18 IN LAS VEGAS - UFC 118: AUGUST 28 IN BOSTON - UFC FIGHT NIGHT 22: SEPTEMBER 15 IN TEXAS - UFC 119: SEPTEMBER 25 IN INDIANAPOLIS - WEC 51: SEPTEMBER 30 IN COLORADO Then only a couple weeks until 2 back to back weeks of UFC.
  15. Just a week after this free show: mmaweekly Lesnar and Velasquez are on a collision course on October 23 in Anaheim. Don't ever question The Dana (or me) again.
  16. With the UFC opening new markets in Australia, China, and eveywhere else they can, expect these kind of cards more and more often. Its free. I like it. One day we'll be getting weekly shows. Can't have stars on all of them. Condit-Hadry is a great matchup.
  17. That is the plan. Dana said as much a few months ago. I don't think Belfort has a chance personally. I'd move Anderson right after he kicks the crap out of Sonnen. Speakling of Dana, my brother met him and Lidell in Vegas last week. Some Dana was awesome. Talked to him for awhile. Looks like Lil Nog is fighting Ryan Bader. That should be good. 205 is deep.
  18. Disagree. The staph was a huge factor. Can't wait to see this one. I do like all your other matchups though.
  19. I always look forward to Rossen's pots fight bligs. Here's a quick qoute. http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/UFC-116-Postmortem-Lesnars-Rank-Secured-Leben-Hits-a-Double-25488

  21. Double's sig can think of one way to get out of a triangle.
  22. Wrong thread. Try here: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/ Agreed. Brock has always been a good dude. He just wears his emotions on his sleeve. When it was a heated rivalry were he was being disrespected over and over again by Mir he took went off on him. Mir deserved every but of it. How great is Brock on the mic? He can play the crowd anyway he wants to. Dana should send Vince some royalty checks. This is a worrisome for Brock for sure, BUT, 3 things: 1. As has already been mentioned, no one in MMA hits harder than Carwin. He took the hits and survived. I hope that gives him the confidence to not back up when one is coming next time. He doesn;t need to start blocking punches with his face ala Chris Leben, but hopefully he learns he should be scared of a punch. 2. This was his 5th fight! He needed to get hit and react before learning from it. I'm hoping he does. ------ Won money on Lesnar and Leben last night. Also got 4 of 5 right on Carwin's UG pick 'em contest. Might net me a prize!
  23. Every school and park. Most are just labeled "water". Same difference though.
  24. http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/1/Pros-Pick-Lesnar-vs-Carwin-25450 First pro's pick Last pro's pick Pros who picked Lesnar: 14 Pros who picked Carwin: 38 Pros who couldn’t decide: 9
  25. BJ was never hurt. He was out pointed by a great game plan. Kudos to Frankie. I knew that would be his only avenue to win, and he did it. If Frankie can't finish an "amateur" he has no business in a title fight. You lose credibility by making statements like that. Don't hold BJ's accomplishments against him. He lost a decision. It happens.
