I've been watching the event, Still. Nice bouts. I didn't know anyone on the card except one of the women. I had seen her lose once but she won tonight. Tonya Evinger. Anyway, all the fights have been pretty good.
All UFC fighters are underpaid AND Randy Couture is afraid to lose before fighting Fedor Emilianenko.
And both are sadly understandable.
The Fertitas are trying to keep the tentacles of a real fast-growing animal under control. You can't set big purses too quickly if want it to survive. They are going too slow though. Fighters like Randy DO deserve more security. They have given their bodies and souls for years in front of the world.
As for Randy being afraid to lose before fighting his career-finishing grandstand against an unbeatable opponent? How would you or I feel on that threshold?
The problem for Dana is that he can't have a champion sitting on the title belt waiting for a match-up with a guy who won't even join the league.
I understand everyone's position as I view them. (I can't claim to truly know what's going on.)
All I can say is, "Sigh."
Stroke is all up in this one. :applause:
Swick by KO
McFedries by KO (Totally going out on a limb with this one.)
Diaz by sub
Tavares by dec
There you go. You guys now know who NOT to pick.
I was shocked when I saw what some of the lesser-known fighters get paid for a fight. I don't even see how they get by, even with endorsements. These guys can't possibly make more than I do in a year and I make less than $50-grand.
The big name guys deserve a LOT more as well.
"I will never doubt BJ Penn again. Chachie is my sensei and master. I bask in his MMA glory."
2 weeks.
Good night of fights, even if most were one-sided.
I owe you a rematch for UFC 81. We'll talk more as it nears.
SkinsOrlando challenged me. How did it end up being he and Dance? That's fine. I don't feel like dealing with the sig crap afterwards anyway. Keep it how you have it. I'm out.
Fair enough, Orlando. I have faith in BJ but I do have a rotten record picking UFC winners.
I'll try to show up at the end of the broadcast either way it goes.
