Toddlers are going to love their starches, because they're basically still babies at that point.  Later in childhood, closer to puberty is where I think the good habits need to start being developed.

Can't wait until then to get them eat veggies, though.

If I have to trick them, so be it, until we can try straight up.

There's a 100% juice version of V8 splash, I use Veggie based rotini and chubky red sauce, mixing mixed veggies into baked beans or Mac 'n cheese.

The struggle is real, we had a good run with the applesauce packs with veggies mixed in, but they were getting so many outside that were jus fruit they both jus look them up and down now.

A can of tuna or a few eggs also cost $1.25 and people are still going to choose the Pop-Tarts.

You know how hard it is to get a toddler to eat tuna with eggs?

    :rofl89:

I saw someone mention coercion...one thing I've tried that's helping (especially with new foods) is to let them drink a juice they love little as a reward for eating a little. Not at all at the end at a light at the end of the tunnel and not water "because it's healthy and they don't drink enough at school"...be reasonable.

I say this because talking to some other parents at church going through it with their kids not wanting food from home and not sure what to feed them (Wife is Nigerian so I go to a predominetly African church).

I know my kids are being given pop tarts at daycare, but everytime I pick up a box to buy and read the back I jus can't put it in the cart (even if I know they'll eat it). I don't give it to them. There are none in our house.

I know there's no shortage of bad options at a buffet, but in an attempt to get to know my kids and them not knowing what they like until they try it it was worth it. Multiple times over.

In the interest of keeping this convo honest, I may be biased and I do have strong opinions. But I do wish to see more posts about actually feeding their own family, especially with their own kids, and what's its like to do that on a budget and not dominated by junk food (especially when both parents work).  Don't give advice you won't take yourself.

This is where I'm struggling to turn my empathy off and demanding a wholesale change to multiple aspects of this conversation (which I am seeing in this thread, and as usually, I'm learning, too).

My biggest issues with Big Pharma:

Entirely too much influence and control over a medical doctor's education and practice

End the public subsidies and cease all T.V. advertising and tax gifts - all while fleecing Americans with the highest drug costs in the world

Too much indemnity and that also needs to end

UK bans Pharma and Political advertising...its not unheard of...

Meh. I’m sure they have enough evidence.

the problem is it’s sort of a joke. Israel doesn’t sign onto the ICC. Neither do we. Hamas is a terrorist organization. Muslim countries are not going to turn them over.

We already have US senators that went threatening letters about this.

my bet is dog and pony show that means nothing. I’ve been saying for a while the whole thing is a joke - guess here’s the chance to see if I’m right or wrong.

My bet is this will have the same result as ES collectively issuing warrants for their arrest.

If you only find value in folks being arrested, I can see why you feel that way.

This is far as the existing process is allowed to go, but it does establish that an International body has enough evidence to press for charges of war crimes versus folks jus debating on the Internet.

These accusations have different level of validity now, even if there's still not enough teeth to put them in jail.

Bibi has a thing with going to different countries to make his case...that list of countries he's welcome to do that is shrinking.

ICC is going after the top 3 leaders of Hamas and Israel with criminal charges for war crimes.

Want to believe they have enough evidence to prove this...Bibi basically would have to be careful which country he visits as they help send him to The Hauge...

So that helicopter had the next two in line of succession to the Supreme Leader. I guess they were going off of cell phone pings and it was a Russian hard landing.

Very tempting target but not proof by itself it was one (not saying you said that).

Someone besides Iran needs to double-check their homework on this one, I'm slightly optimistic Iran knows this was an accident and that's why they haven't "taken it there" yet.

That is same time Hella convinient if Iran wanted to put someone in place that had different strategy or stances as current regime.

    Coincidence by itself isn't causality...

  8.  I'm gonna say it, Parton is universally respected, not universally liked...

There are too many people in her original target base now that are constantly grumbling when she takes the opposite side of some of their more horrible takes on things.

She also puts her money where her mouth is...seeded against Williams is damn near impossible match-up in 1st round like that.

This is most liked, not your most liked. Now, you didn’t hear it from me, but I imagine there are quite a few evangelicals who question Bob Rosses sexuality enough to knock him down a peg.

Man...you still made some bold picks, like taking out Keanu in the 1st round.

Same time I remember right before COVID I took a trip to LA and heard similar rumors about Reeves from more then one person (LA basically jus likes him too much to out him).

Not that that matters, jus your post reminded me of that.

BTW, I'm not convinced Faser is universally liked right now, because he certainly wasn't between The Mummy and The Whale...

    1 over 16 | 8 over 9 | 5 over 12 | 13 over 4 |

    3 over 14 | 11 over 6 | 7 over 10 | 2 over 15|

    8 over 1 | 13 over 5 | 3 over 11 | 7 over 2 |

    8 over 13 | 7 over 3 |

    7 over 8

I believe there has to be some recency bias here with respect to why Ross may seem the easy answer, there's enough young people that don't know who he is right now that also unfortunately makes Martin an automatic out.

Reeves is all over the place jus doing nice things while seeming humble enough to not be looking for the attention (basically being caught being normal and kind all the time) and dropping wisdom bombs.  He said something the other day that floored me "if you're lover, you have to be a fighter, because how can you love it I'd you won't fight for it?"

I respect anyone picking, but today he comes across as a minding his own business sort of kind, and while I respect that, you can jus feel the world gravitating  to a more pragmatic approach to making the world a better place.

Shaq out here making affordable shoes for kids and central figure on arguably the best sports show if all time (I have a pair for my daughter because they made nice, look nice, and hard for her to get off on her own).

But Irwin takes the cake for giving his life trying to save the earth and all living things in it as we know it.  Not only that, he's universally liked outside the United States and laid the ground work for his kids to carry in his conservation efforts.

I've never heard a bad word about Tony Hawk, but whens the last time you heard from Tony Hawk?

Foxx is criminally unappreciated so also pleasently surprises me seeing him in a universally liked seeding.

    Opinion...

  10. Trying to find a nice way to show that I noticed Nats and Yankees having back to back series against the same White Soxs team...that one struggled and the other *checks notes* kinda didnt...

Sure. Stop hopping around from team to team and when the one you choose finally wins it all, it’ll probably be more fulfilling. You’re the Tailgate KD of sports fandom :ols:

For switching back to team I followed first in a year following they didn't make the playoffs and all my others are teams are local?

Whatever helps yall make sense of it, KD would force himself to the Dodgers, in your heart you know this to be true 😆

    Godzilla minus one

At its heart, Godzilla Minus One is the story of Kōichi Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki), a kamikaze pilot in WWII who abandons his mission for fear of dying. While taking refuge at a base for aviation repair, he has his first encounter with Godzilla, and is one of only two survivors of the monster’s attack. Upon arriving home and learning that his parents died in an American air raid on Tokyo, Shikishima becomes riddled with survivor’s guilt and feels that he is unworthy of his life. This sentiment is parroted by both his neighbor Sumiko (Sakura Ando) and Tachibana (Munetaka Aoki), an engineer and the other survivor of the first Godzilla attack. Despite taking in a woman who also lost her family, Noriko (Minami Hamabe) and an orphan named Akiko, Shikishima doesn’t see much value in his own existence and considers himself a coward, especially because he repeatedly survives encounters with Godzilla where others are killed. Wondering why Ren would downvote me for such a reasonable take and then I remembered he’s a Yankees fan. Hasn’t seen a World Series winner since he was in 3rd grade so I’m sure that’s tough to cope with.

I was a Nats fan in 2019, came back to evil empire this offseason after Soto went there (i have his away jersey with no name on the back now : )

Last Orioles World Series win was before I was born, so could be worse, I guess...any tips or wisdom on how to get though that?
