  1. A healthy wizards team did exactly what they were supposed to do and beat the crap out of an injured, struggling basketball team at home. I wish Singleton could get his way out the dog house, because I believe now we're starting to see sort of the idea of what EG had in mind with this new core. I really hope Webster can just take over the 3 spot, even Wall mentioned him by name after the game. Crawford looks great as our 6th man, offensive spark, so I really feel we can get away with focusing our upgrade efforts on a dominant 5/4 guy. I do not want to give up on Seraphin yet, because between him, booker and singleton, I want one of them to be able to take over the PF position. I wouldn't be afraid to package all three if the right deal came along...

  2. I must of gone to take a piss when the Okafor stupid play happened. I don't know what to say on that, dude just had 17 rebounds tonight. As for Wall, 14-8 and 4-4 from charity in 27 minutes. This may be a lost season for him, but I still like it when he blows by people are draws a foul. Does he do it too much, you can make the argument, but I still like that he can and does do it...

  3. Superset for the delayed response man.

They run the games on WJFK, 106.7. Same station that does the Nats and, I believe, possibly the Caps? Caps fans correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Anyway the color guy, Glen Consor, keeps it from being Buck and Phil levels of Goed, but he's still alright and the broadcast is quality. Unfortunately they don't stream the games live on their website (or the Nats games). I believe there is some sort of league rule about that, like you gotta buy some separate radio subscription from the NBA (or MLB) to listen to radio broadcasts online.

That said, I'm sure you could find an app that carries the station and the games.

You good, but ya, I noticed what you're talking about in it being hell to get a wizards game on the radio outside the DC area. I've seen the radio map go all the way as far south as Hatteras, but I can't get it on even intune.com. Local radio down here will play caps and nats, but tonight they had college hoops on the FM sports station (terrestrial, not internet). Going to buy a radio to see if I can listen to it on AM, but why I should have to do that, I have no idea.

  4. Listening on the radio (I'll catch the second half on TV) but from what I'm hearing, they're laying a total egg tonight. Consor is saying this might be the first game this year where he hates their defensive intensity. No hustle. Also Nene struggling hard

What radio station are you listening to? I wouldn't mind listening to the games if I can't get them to stream.

Jazz taking a timeout cause we got a couple buckets in a row. Down 16, for some reason I don't feel this game is over. That was just too horrible compared to how we've been doing lately. 16 points is nothing in professional basketball...

  5. I should have said that my proposal assumes we continue with our current trend of winning' date=' and kick ourselves out of the lottery.[/quote']

That's a big reason why I'm not totally against a trade. The earlier we trade that pick, the higher the value I believe it will have before people really realise we're starting to get our **** together.

  6. Memphis just did a multiple player trade to get under the luxery tax, and kept gay and their starters out of it. Looks like they're going to try and keep that core together going forward.

I wouldn't be against just drafting someone and continuing with the plan to develop your talent to hit their prime around the same time. This at least gives us the flexibility to fill in the gaps with veterans if we have to.

If a trade comes up where it makes to ship say our first and singleton, I wouldn't be against it. Just don't get desperate and compromise the culture change. Because that's the biggest reason we can't get anyone to come and just sign here...

  7. He's worth it IMO. He's immature but he doesn't do the kind of crap off the court that Blatche does.

The difference between Cousins and JaVale is that Cousins is really good and his potential is dominant. JaVale wasn't good enough to live with the negatives he brought to the table. The locker room is in a different place today than it was when JaVale and Blatche were here. Back then, they were the veteran talent. Bring Cousins in and he'd have a pro like Nene to show him the way and his best friend Wall to help him out.

It got better because we got rid of those players that were contributing to an unprofessional atmosphere, Arenas as well. It wasn't the clubbing that was the final straw with me with Blatche, it was the refusing to go back in the game then flip starting him the next game that drove me to the brink of proclaiming this franchise a failure forever. Wizards don't have to go after Cousins to get over the top, there are other options then selling out on your image of a team where character actually matters before you even enter the building.

You risk ruining the culture change if it doesn't work, that's not worth it.

Is this fools gold or is this team really playing like a competitive NBA franchise since Wall returned?

A lot of close games getting to this point, without any bonified stars and a lot of young developing talent. Instead of looking like a burning trash heep, the wizards actually look like a team rebuilding again. That is in big part to wall helping be that extra little umph to make a difference from losing close games to winning close games. Also spent a lot of the season with horrible PG play, and a lot of that was due to injuries. Getting temple made a difference, just in time for wall and price to come back.

  8. Cousins is probably a better scorer than Gay.

Crawf is practically a Jamal Crawford clone. How utterly bizarre it is that they share the same last name on top of it? They've got to be related some how. Long lost brothers or dopplegangers.

BTW, Cousins went for 29 & 13 today with 3 assists. 17 & 10 with 4 assists two nights before that. 22 & 12 the night before that, of course 22 & 16 with 5 assists against us and finally, 26, 14, & 6 the game before that. He's been on an absolute tear lately. He's averaging 21 & 12.5 with over 3 assists for January. He's a beast.

smh, is he really worth the headache? We just got rid of McGee, Young, and Blatche last year to get these types out the locker room. Why bring another one in just because of his potential? Sets bad precedent.

  9. Oh ya, that's a dagger. Let's go home.

That's why you keep crawford, in case other scorers like Beal go cold like tonight.

Edit: Also really liking Webster now and how we balance Nene and Okafor at center. I'm better understanding the Rudy Gay idea because we do need one more guy that can really score to be able to pull out wins night after night. Don't want Cousins and his crazy ***

  10. I like what Wall is doing in that he sees the clippers clamping down on his assists and is choosing to try to score to make up for it. Seen him hit some nice shots, jumpers, too. It's amazing as good as the clippers are that we are keeping this a winnable ball game. Major props, guys...

Edit: That does it, I'm getting a John Wall jersey. I love watching him block people's shots like a boss.

  11. Wizards are 9-1 in their last 10 games with John Wall on the court; 5-28 without him.

I believe it. I saw him do some Arenas mess where he just blew by everybody for the layup when we needed it, but he's even faster. And that last block then damn near running away from everyone to effectivly end the game, Jesus. I find it interesting people saying he won't be elite. From what I'm seeing, then only thing really holding him back from being in that conversation is his jump shot (which he's young enough to believe he'll eventually get that right, too).

  12. Man, has Beal come into his own or what?

Looking at stat line on this game, looks like turnovers and free throw shooting are killing us today. Assists are also down, but hearing about Nene's knee tendinitis makes me feel we need to focus that draft pick on someone that can play the 5 or be the big guy on the floor when we play small. Seriously, I love the guy, but he's never going to be healthy enough for us to truly rely on him to be anchor going forward. I totally believe that's why Denver traded him (though it sure does feel good knowing Mcgee is coming off the bench for Denver now).

I like the Shabazz idea, but what about this guy Zeller? I se he can play PF/C and is expected to be a lottery pick.

  13. Superior talent won out. They made us pay for mistakes every time and it didn't matter how many mistakes they made. They can get easy buckets and we have to work our asses off for them.

I see this, and as much as I don't like to admit it, this is the main reason we're losing right now. As much as I wish we had a coach that could maximise our talent, we really don't have any superstars to literally carry this team. We don't a kobe that can score 30 points a night for several games in a row while the team struggles to play defense. We don't have a Lebron that took a losing franchise basiclly by himself to the finals in Cleveland.

Our best player hasn't played all year. Our second best is still playing on one leg. Even if healthy, we still would have to play mistake free basketball to deal with other NBA teams. We were leading the entire game until we started turning the ball over. Then the Nets did just enough to make up for their screwups, foul trouble, and missed free throws to take the game from us. If we aren't getting blown out, this is what I see a lot happening to us.
