So far I haven't heard any of them ask for our help. Nor do the protesters seem to have any real leadership right now. Not really sure what we could do either. So far the Syrian people seem intent on this being an unarmed revolution. We'll have to watch and see what happens though. On the other hand it would be interesting if someone were to somehow jam the state tv and replace the usual footage with videos of all the demonstrations, killings, and martyrs. I don't see that happening though, since even Libyan tv has only been jammed for an hour and a half at most. (by some engineers in the country) All we can do right now is support the protesters and put whatever political and diplomatic pressure we can on the regime (probably not too much). Not to mention that Obama also sees the regime as an important negotiator in establishing a peace process between Palestine and Israel. That said.... http://blogs.aljazeera.net/live/middle-east/syria-live-blog-april-23 Lots of videos up on twitter of Assad posters torn down and statues destroyed http://twitter.com/#!/AnonymousSyria kkRAUZKVMm8

There were many killings and arrests by security forces and regime thugs in Baniyas a few days ago. Also Syrian women came out in the hundreds to protest the arrests and forced the government to promise to send in the military and pull back the security forces.

http://twitter.com/#!/calperryAJ Reportedly many security force members then changed into civilian clothes and dispersed into the fleeing crowd and followed them. Some wounded protesters were taken away by the security forces before any medics could reach them. http://twitter.com/#!/SubMedina http://blogs.aljazeera.net/live/middle-east/syria-live-blog-april-18 Al Jazeera English is reporting that tanks were seen advancing on Homs earlier to help blockade the city. ---------- Post added April-18th-2011 at 09:17 PM ---------- http://english.aljazeera.net/news/africa/2011/04/201141901928585194.html

Worrying signs that Syrian security forces and army are be cracking down on Homs and enacting some sort of house by house arrest or killing throughout the city. http://blogs.aljazeera.net/live/middle-east/syria-live-blog-april-18 http://twitter.com/#!/calperryAJ ---------- Post added April-18th-2011 at 07:37 PM ---------- http://twitter.com/#!/calperryAJ http://twitter.com/#!/Reuters http://twitter.com/#!/Tharwacolamus
