I'm with ya... I can't figure out HOW in my brain, but for some reason I think it's how it shakes out.

I'd actually like to see Stroman get some more chances back there over the next 2 preseason games.... He may be thrust into a CB rotation for the 4th spot, so they may be taking it easy on him, trying to avoid an injury, but he returned punts in college, and in the 2 returns he had, he looked like he could handle it.

Not disputing his roster spot as I agree he's probably got a spot here, just curious what you saw last night that stood out so much?

P.rich is older, but Crowder has been in this offense. I'm actually encouraged by our youth at WR.... I'm not ready to get worked up over the drops yet, but I don't want to see a trend develop either.

I'm pretty sure Reed lines up outside a fair amount... I honestly would do it very frequently when we were running the ball, and have him run a fly route. In fact, I'd have him run a fly route EVERY time we ran the ball, regardless of the alignment. Even better, I'd tell him to AVOID the defender, make him chase you around til he realized Guice has the ball.

I agree with you about carrying the 6th... that I'm not sure we should. What I do find myself concerned with is our injury history. I'm a little on the higher side regarding Doctson, and I feel like this could be a very good year for him. The fact that he's missed 50% of his career in the NFL due to injury worries me. I understand it's his 3rd season, and he appeared in (i believe) all 16 games last year, but the thought still lingers. Richardson has had his fair share of injuries, and Crowder and Quinn don't exactly have the body makeup to withstand getting beat up between the hashmarks and expect them to not withstand some sort of ding throughout the course of the year. That would be my own debate about the 6th is, how confident are we that we can carry 5 WR and get through the year. If there is a guy we have that the coaches absolutely love and he's on the bubble, we may need to hold him. Quick is the most veteran guy we have, and I'm not even sure he makes the team. We can't put him on the PS, so if we have any ideas about wanting him available, he's going to occupy a roster spot. Carrying 6 is going to be really tough to do.... with the depth we have at WR, RB, DB, TE, and OLB, there are going to be some decisions made...

And I hate to say the name Kirk again, but he also wasn't the QB that would strike the fear in the defense of a guy who's gonna beat you over the top. I feel like Alex might change that... add to it a viable threat in the backfield, and we might be talking about these same WR a lot differently by mid season. Going through our schedule, the defensive passing YPG (i know, it's not a perfect guague, but it works) rank like this Cardinals - 14th Colts - 28th Packers - 23rd Saints - 15th Panthers - 18th Cowboys - 11th Giants - 31st Falcons - 12th Bucs - 32nd Texans - 24th Cowboys - 11th Eagles - 17th Giants - 31st Jags - 1st Titans - 25th Eagles - 17th we see 1 top 10 pass defense... all season.

I think it's all tied together. Thompson is a hybrid who is going to be a MAJOR part of our passing game this year.

I agree. This is a YOUNG group that has upside. I don't think this team is going to need Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson. It would be nice to have obviously, but this WR group is one I have an odd level of confidence in for some reason. I like our depth too and the potential development of some of the back end guys. Robert Davis and Simmie Cobbs Jr have me really intrigued... I don't see us having any pro-bowlers on the outside, but I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking back in the offseason and saying we had 3 WR over 750 yards, and at least 1 of them has double digit TDs. Thats not even including what the TEs do.

My suggestion with the Black in the jersey would have include the Red pants to match the sleeves... it wouldn't be a black out style uni...

See I want to see more black... I think it looks awesome. If you want to see an idea do a google search for 'FSU Black Helmet' The gloss OR the matte end up lookin pretty cool, and it's similar to our spear. I absolutley would not include any yellow on a black helmet because we would straight up look like the Steelers. Piggybacking that if you look at FSU's alternate with the black jersey with burgundy sleeves, I could get down with a spin on that.. .if the helmet wasn't 2 toned.
