The Berkeley Trotskyites would be myself, Predicto and Dan T (among others).  :ols:

    Carry on.

LOL.  In San Francisco I'm considered a disgraceful shill for downtown business interests.

You can't prove nuttyness or paranoia of any kind. It's simply a perspective you don't understand.

Please stop telling us that we don't understand your perspective.  We do.

    We just don't respect it.

The fact that we are unable to convince YOU that you are an ignoramus does not mean that you are not, in fact, an ignoramus.

Do you hate Kyrie Irving with the fury of a thousand suns?

You know a point guard with a history of injury whose body is breaking down? That John Wall fella.

I've always disliked Kyrie, and not because he is actually borderline crazy (which he is).  He is very good, but I also think he is overrated as a point guard because he doesn't run an offense that well or pass at an elite level.  He's really an undersized off guard, which is fine if you pair him with a second guard who is a great defender and the offense runs through someone else (like Lebron).   Basically, Kyrie's an all star, but he was voted as the all star starter way too many years because of ESPN highlights and name recognition.  His overall performance did not warrant it.

  3. In case people are new to the Tailgate, I just want to point out that Bang is a long time moderate Republican who has become disgusted by what his former party has become.  So is Larry, for that matter.  And tshile.

These are not Berkeley Trotskyites who dream of the proletariat rising up and destroying the bourgeoisie.  They are reasonable conservatives who didn't drink the Kool-Aid as their party swirled down the toilet from Newt and Rush to Trump and Bannon.

  4. Horford is fine.  He is reliable and efficient, he passes well and plays good defense, he can play multiple roles within the system, and his contract is not that long.

As far as I can tell, the Celtics are doing just about everything correctly right now.  They are 40-18 despite a young roster and a tier 2 all-star that they just signed who has only played 5 minutes this season.  They have an excellent scorer, three young players who are developiong well, several more good draft picks coming up, and they got rid of Isiah Thomas before everyone figured out what a mirage he was.

Some serious nit-picking going on when someone wants to bash on Ainge for all of that.   I wanted to punch Ainge in the face when he was a player, but he has been an excellent GM.

counterpoint: Kyrie is turning 26 in a month, he's suffered a ton of injuries throughout his basketball career, and he looks and walks around like he's 38.  How confident are you in his longevity really?

Kyrie walked around like he was 38 the day he came into the league.  He's not beating people with athleticism - he's doing it with great handlesand the best set of "old man embarassing you at the YMCA" moves anyone has seen since Larry Bird.

You make fun of me for recency bias and then post this?

How many Toronto games have you and/or Predicto seen over the past four years?

I'm mostly going on what I have seen this year (three or four games).  I don't think that Steve Novak and Tyler Hansborough are particularly relevant to evaluating their chances today.

    Has...he seen the memo?

Those naughty Democrats put the actual facts in their memo.  We were much more responsible - we only used unsourced partisan allegations and spin in our memo.  That's why it was safe to release ours (and so important that we do so ASAP) while it is dangerous to release theirs.

How do they say this stuff without breaking up into giggle fits?

No. Toronto is definitely a tough out. They can be beat... but over a series it would be tough for any of those teams mentioned...and unlikely.

This softness you speak of is former teams...this team has a little more to them.

    This.

A year ago, Toronto was 11th in the league in defensive efficiency.  Now they are third.  If they shot the 3 better they would be terrifying,

But youre supposed to be the intelligent, college educated one in all this ,yes? Mocking views you don't get, make you the smart one? You have a logic discussion with meme's ? And you think  you're the smart one? Rather childish

I like childish.  My childhood was a long time ago - I want to relive it.

I also like the idea of "mocking views I don't get," especially when I have seen them a hundred times before.

  9. You guys are seriously overlooking Toronto.  That does not seem to be the same team that flamed out the past couple of years in the playoffs.  They have opened their offense, and they added a lot of athleticism.  There's a reason that they are second in margin of victory, behind only Houston.

I did......just not the answer you wanted.excuse me for acknowledging you. I exllined how this site effs up..

I guess you can start with Allen  Watt...not sure if I spelled his first name right? But I'm not even that in to him and it's not that basic  to start with

    Ok.  That's a good start.

Draymond gonna get himself some cool-down time.

And that’s probably good for him.

    #beardgets1seed

Yep.  He's getting close to the suspension line for number of techs.

The fact that he got smashed in the face, was spitting blood, and no foul was called naturally had him riled up, but he has set himself up by his own behavior to get Teed up over and over.

Dubs look dead on their feet.  They need the all-star break badly.

The most amazing thing to me is how insanely stupid they are about it as well. It's like even after all this time and all of these episodes of their lies getting disproved, they STILL don't seem to understand that nowadays this information is going to come out and there are ways to validate or invalidate whether something said was true or not. This administration is incompetent at everything, even lying and being corrupt.

It doesn't matter.  There are no political consequences for the right when they get caught lying.  They know that.  Just move along to the next accusation or misrepresentation.  Keep the pressure on.

It has worked for them for 15 years now.  Why change anything?

I don't see anything wrong about what Magic Johnson said about Giannis Antetokounmpo.  He wasn't tampering he was simply praising him.

Magic and the Lakers have a history of tampering. They tampered with Paul George just a year ago, and got fined $500k.

I think the NBA is not going to give Magic the benefit of the doubt on such things.

  14. twa knows the playbook.  He's been doing it for years.

He's just asking questions.  Why are you all so afraid of questions?

He still has questions about Benghazi, and Pizzagate, and Jade Helm, and Obama's planned gun grab, and Obama's birth certificate, and FEMA deathcamps, and the NAFTA superhighway.  No issue is too discredited for twa to fight on to frame the narrative.  He's just asking questions.

twa - perhaps we should discuss this narrative of yours that mysterious, undefined (but probably rilly rilly bad) "things were done improperly" before the FISA court using a graphic aid.

Watch him end up in Golden State or San Antonio for chump change.

San Antonio maybe.  No way on GS.  The entire GS defense is based on their ability to constantly switch.  If they had IT, teams would just switch a long scorer on to him and eat him alive.   It's hard enough for Curry to hold his own, and Curry is 100X the defender that IT is.

San Antonio could hide him the way Boston did.
