    Oh, my apologies.

My eyes and the scoreboard escapes this archaic metric you’ve cited as proof positive it wasn’t an awful game of football.

Sure, because your personal opinion completely outweighs an assessment scale developed by experts.

If you want to believe that 23 for 31 for 279 yards with a TD and a pick, plus 29 yards and a TD on the ground is awful, no power on earth can prevent you.

    Heinicke is an enigma.

It’s hard to even describe, because he generally plays an awful game of pro football but somehow, some way pulls miracles out of his ass.

    <snip>

Exactly 12 QBs this week had a higher passing rating than Heinicke (98.7). That really doesn't qualify as "an awful game of pro football."

If Terry doesn’t make the miraculous catch and is intercepted, which with that throw in that spot is by far the greatest probability:

I had nothing underneath and the OL was giving me some more time and I was scrambling and I saw Terry and threw it to him knowing he would get that. but since my arm is the worst in the league I under threw him by 8 yards even though he was open and it got picked off.  Gee, I wish I had NFL talent, I would actually be a good QB.  But it isn’t, so I am what I am.  Sorry for the honesty.

I savor your bitter tears of defeat. May TH elicit many more in the weeks to come.

Did a Wiki read-up on ex-Longhorn Ehlinger.  He's been through some tragedy the last couple years.  His dad died of a heart attack during a triathlon when Ehlinger was 14.  Then in 2020, his younger brother, a linebacker for the University of Texas, died of an accidental overdose of Xanax laced with fentanyl.

His NFL.com scouting report could have been written - word for word - about Taylor Heinicke!!! :

They don't come much tougher than Ehlinger at the position, and his intangibles are as good as you could ask for. He's a very average passer, but can deliver most throws with good enough accuracy and velocity to hit the open target. He doesn't have a plus arm and could struggle to fit throws into tight windows or make big completions throwing on the move. His deep ball accuracy is a step below average but he's fairly effective throwing with anticipation on intermediate routes. He's not an explosive runner, although he gets tough yards on a consistent basis as a scrambler and on called runs. His 2019 tape is a better study of his potential, but career backup looks like his ceiling.

So instead of the Carson Revenge Bowl we have the Battle Of The Gritty Backups. Cue the heroic theme music.

Who here is doing that?  Just give me one example of anyone proclaiming him to be "prime Russell Wilson or something".

No one did this.  The "Hive" posters are the ones who constantly post about said "Hive" and I have to go back 5 or 6 pages to make sure I'm not losing my mind because I don't see anyone "Heinicke Hive" people loudly proclaiming anything about him.

In addition to the "Heinicke Hive" we also have the "Heinicke Haters."

Right, because last year the coaches weren't yelling to the media that they don't know why that **** wouldn't leave the pocket and run. It was an issue almost the entire year, but now somehow Heinicke is Jalen Hurts? GTFO with this crap. You forget the cowboys game when blitzers lined up right in front of him and he couldn't see them and then got sacked? What a ****ing joke.

What do you care? You're a frigging Eagles fan.

The NFL should have NEVER allowed someone so young as 34 to become an NFL owner...I don't care how much money a person that age has, there is a certain maturity that is lacking at that age that would be present in older billionaires. In Snyder's case, it was compounded by the fact that he never went to any kind of business school and dropped out of college, so he never really learned anything about working with other people on a professional, rather than authoritarian, level. Most of his money was made through aggressive acquisitions of smaller companies, which doesn't really require any negotiation skills when you're in an advantageous position, so it's not surprising he would be so bull-headed once he bought his treasured NFL team.

Good point. I suggest setting a minimum age of 35, like U.S. presidents.

But while your asking, yes - it would be nice if they banned topics that I personally find Irritating.

I feel much the same way. There is the possibility your topics and mine might not completely overlap, however.

Were you active on ES during the CousinsG3 wars? Those got the same sort of restrictions too, same with the exit of Cousins. Limiting the number of threads a backup can be talked about isn't something particularly new. That it has to be done for someone who was always supposed to be a backup does make it unique though. Closest we ever got to that was Colt McCoy or Colt Brennan, I guess lol

I remember efforts to end the RG3/Cousins debates after Cousins left. I don't recall discussion of Cousins being officially silenced while he was on the team.

I can’t speak for him, but from my view much of the talk about Heineke comes from a small but loud contingent, that primarily posts about Heineke and/or Wentz sucking.  The topic has been covered so many times there is no new ground to cover.  So I can see why mods and posters alike get sick of hearing about the dude.

Topics that have been previously discussed make up a huge percentage of the content here. Should they all be banned, or just the ones you personally find irritating?

Since talking about how to make this franchise a winner is as close to telling pure fantasy tales as it can get, I'd settle for soothing some of my current petty annoyances: ala hoping we cut heinie asap and no later next off season so I don't have to keep reading the squad of weirdo fanboyz who can't help stupidly bringing him up like his existence here actually matters, or writing a new rule that limits mentioning him (unless he's on the field in a game) only in our fantasy forum. Our situation is pathetic enough without adding the extra stupid.

Are you seriously contemplating banning discussions of the backup QB on a football team discussion forum? As other players are un-personed as well, will you be providing a pinned "players you can post about" list?
