  1. This fight is probably a win-win for UFC: Shields wins and Dana says "I just signed the guy who can give GSP a run for his money" Shields loses and Dana can play the "see, UFC is where the men are separated from the boys"
  2. Tito's everything was slow. Too bad he didn't get some post-fight mic time, or I am sure he would have blamed it on another "injury during training camp, I am ready for surgery, then I will be back to get my title"
  3. Did Tito just restake his claim as Fighter most in need of retirement? He is really trying to wrestle it away from Chuck!
  4. I have a feeling tonight is going to be tough for us online link watchers, so lets do each other a favor and post our links and help each other out and keep them coming early and often... I am watching here for now... I have a feeling tonight will be a ***** for us stream viewers once it gets closer to the Main Event, so lets keep the links to streams coming early and often....I am currently watching at the following link... http://www.channelsurfing.net/watch-ufc-121-2.html

  6. *BUMP* Well folks, the game is on my local affiliate, like most....buuut, the 49ers/Falcons is in danger of going a bit past 1:00pm.....so I will be looking for a link just in case!
  7. Ok Guys I am here to ask a question. As a fellow out of town Skins fan, I rely on going to the bar for my 'Skins games, unless it is nationally televised. The only time I watched a Skins game online was the last game of the year in 2009 against the Chargers. I am quite frankly feeling as about dejected as a fan can be after the embarrassing loss to the Rams. I am really on the verge on saying F-the sportsbar, I will just try to find a feed online to watch the game. My question is, how reliable are the feeds? I know when one goes down, another one usually will be available almost right away? What percentage of the game(s) would you say you have missed over the years using online feeds? I don't mind missing a minute here or there over the course of the game, but I also am not willing to miss half a quarter or something, while trying to find a game feed online.......I watch UFCs and other stuff online, and overall it is pretty reliable but has always been known to get over-clogged and sometimes just shut off........so what has been all of your experiences and what do you recommend I do?
  8. BJ is basically a smaller version of Nog in the sense he has been through more wars than 99% of MMA fighters. Dude has gone up and down in weight constantly in his career, to try and take on the biggest challenges. It is possible that type of career has aged him quickly. Honestly, as a big fan of BJ Penn, I am thinking he must have hit the wall, or he is too stubborn to go out and fight with a gameplan to win, oooor he has reverted back into "lazy, I just don't care" Penn. I mean come on, for a BJJ Black belt, a legit BJJ world champion, a stand-up fighter who has zero KO power, should NEVER pose a serious problem. Why Penn chose to stand and play jab-fest for three and a half rounds before even attempting a takedown is beyond me. It almost seemed like when he finally did get a takedown in round 4, he was too tired or the guys were too sweaty for him to do anything with it, and he just mentally gave up and accepted his fate. Sad thing to see elite fighters hit the wall.
  9. Well either one, we have witnessed BJ Penn finally hit the wall and he is done as an elite fighter, or two, he is back into "I am bored, and lazy and will just take a paycheck mode" I don't want to shortchange Edgar, he did get some takedowns, and he definitely earned his victory, but Penn just lost to a guy who can't even throw a combination on his feet. I think maybe once in the entire fight(when Edgar had him against the fence) did Edgar even throw more than a punch at a time. Maybe my frustration is aimed at the wrong guy, I think I am more bewildered at Rogan & Goldberg's nuthuggin' I know they have to sell the fight and when it looks like one a fighter is going to win, they probably have to go into overdrive to hype them as the best thing ever, however I look forward to Inside MMA next Friday, to get some real commentary and analysis of this fight and not the "Frankie Edgar has so much speed" version.
  10. Why does Penn look so uninterested in this?
  11. It's only been one round and I am already tired of Rogan BJ Misses one punch = Rogan, "OMG Frankie is so hard to hit, he is so fast, BJ is having trouble countering" BJ connects w/punches on the next three tries Rogan, ".................."
  12. If Dana White ever puts Toney on a PPV again.....my god, that was a disgrace. Did not belong on a PPV card. Ok BJ, lets get down to some business, no dancing around this time. Get in, shoot, take him down, choke him out. Game. Set. Match. New Champ!
  13. 76 degree...clear skies.... Rex says starters into the 3rd quarter..... (I have the Jets feed) Jets win toss, they defer....Redskins get the ball 1st!
  14. Well looks like the game is starting...whoo hoo! Jets intro...so it must be the NY feed.....I am using the channelsurfing stream...if anyone has the Redskins broadcast feed let me know....if it is good quality, that is.....
  15. The stream I am on is the Rams/Pats game....it is just about over....is the Skins game immediately following? Is anyone on a stream that the Skins pre-game is on?
  16. What time does the game start today? I figure I will watch the stream live, and if it is worth DVRing I will tape the NFL network replay tomorrow. Any pregame streams up yet?
  17. Not at all trying to say Anderson wanted to be in the position he was for almost the entire fight, however at the same time, true BJJ black belts, they train for those types of situations. People can say Silva is weak on the ground, but this is the second time people thought he was in trouble and/or going to be finished on the ground, and he ended up getting a submission victory. Props to Sonnen for bringing the fight and backing up his words, but to me it also must be said that Silva has shown he has a complete game. To be able to be wrestled to the ground and dominated for the entire fight, but not mentally give up and look for an opening the entire time. Also, yeah it might be looked at as an excuse but he did seem to have a legit rib injury going into the fight, however, whatever, that is the name of the game. Comes with the territory. As far as people saying, "Now I know GSP would murder Silva" I mean, we will see. I still say Silva beats him in his prime, however I am kind of questioning whether Silva's day at his elite level are over. I didn't realize he was 35 already, and at the age your speed and especially quickness can start to go. I think GSP has a quicker shoot than Sonnen, but Silva would be so much taller and such a reach advantage, I could see Silva working from beneath against GSP as well. I think it makes that fight that much more interesting, but at the same time, after Sonnen's performance, and Vitor Belfort waiting in the wings, Silva has 2 very big reasons not to worry about GSP or Light-HW division anytime soon!
  18. Nice to see Okami and Gomi get two big impressive wins. I thought Okami should have been Unanimous but oh well. To me, it makes Japanese MMA that much more fun to watch and follow when their top fighters have a realistic chance at branching out and coming overseas to challenge the top competition over here. Sakuraba was probably the last Japanese fighter to routinely beat competition from around the world. With Okami and Gomi doing well, and Aoki trying to get to that level, could be good stuff on the horizon. Also, yeah Jon Jones continues to impress. He has an Anderson Silva type build to him, which is going to give him huge advantages in most matches. Will be interesting to continue to watch him train and grow as a fighter. I wonder who he gets next in a fight that will almost certainly be a step up in competition.
  19. Well Couture actually held his own against Brock in the first round of their fight. Using the cage, the clinch and some dirty boxing to back Brock off. Problem is, the dude is in his mid-40's, I mean that could be a big reason why he is done in the HW division. Plus he was kind of strong-armed into the fight by Dana before he was ready because Dana wanted the belt on Brock. Velasquez is big, not Brock/Carwin big, but he probably has twice the skills of either guy. Should be a very interesting matchup.
  20. Exactly Destino. If you want to be the champ, you have to beat the champ. If you want to submit Anderson Silva, you better have a plan on how to take him down and not just lay on the ground hoping Silva makes the same mistake Fedor did against Werdum. I think Anderson Silva is basically tired and bored with fighters who go on and on about having the "keys to defeat Silva" before the fight, and then as soon as the bell rings they look like they want to talk things out rather then fight. No one is demanding any fighter stands and trades with Silva, but parting of MMA is that if you are a BJJ ace, then you need to find a way to close the distance and get your opponent to the ground, which none in the 185 division have seemed to be able to do yet. The closest we have seen was Dan Henderson wrestle Silva down, and Travis Lutter had a pretty good showing back in the day.
  21. It's kind of hard to believe the James Toney stuff, considering we all heard the same hype once Kimbo started training after being signed by UFC, and we all saw what he actually turned out to be like in the ring. Lets just say, we'll believe it when we see it. Lets not forget, this is the UFC, Zuffa production. They know there is a big risk here with this fight, for many reasons....so regardless of the outcome, they want to make sure to get the most business out of this as possible. This story could be 100% true, or it could just be another great example of the incredible hype job that UFC is capable of doing. Just wait for the countdown show.. Rogan, "This is the fight the fans have been waiting forever to see" "James Toney presents and interesting challenge because" "I can't wait for this fight because...." All typical lines he says before any and every fight on a countdown show...lol.
  22. Shamrock just humiliated. Stands with Rizzo and just gets leg-kicked and punched into oblivion until he can't even stand up......please stop fighting Ken.
  23. http://www.justin.tv/supremehd# http://www.veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#4c425f89835f2 Both these links have working streams.....the veetle one is behind, but the overall quality is better and justin.tv streams are known to work well until the main event and then have major problems. I think I'll go with veetle for now.
  24. Uh Oh....Sonnen is in trouble now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlQw9fJ9CKk&feature=player_embedded
