    If other teams start locking in their HC's it may actually eliminate some competition and narrow the focus. There may be teams that feel a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush and grab the best available early as opposed to gambling on and missing on one that is still in the playoffs. Going to be an interesting week to see which teams just go ahead and make a hire as opposed to waiting for the candidates that are still in the playoffs.

    Due diligence if nothing else, something I don't think we were getting from the previous regime. I imagine we are getting the same type of calls for the #2.

    One of the greatest referee calls ever, I think they should have made this into official ref language.

    If a team does not understand that this is a huge moment for Detroit then Im not sure If Im the candidate I would want to go there anyway, I dont think it would reflect well on them at all.

    I brought this up a few days ago and its a valid point. However I think the initial interview in this case (which is done remotely) is more of a "hey were interested in you and want to pursue this further, don't commit anywhere else until we can talk in depth". Im sure the Commanders etc. realize that any OC who is still involved in the playoffs is not fully prepared to interview at this time. More of a mutual acknowledgement of interest and a measure from the team not to be last in line so to speak.

    Is he talking about the current regime of Harris and Peters? How would he have any idea at this point what their stance is on anything, including OL? Evaluate during COVID? COVID is probably the reason why he was given more time in the position.

    Losing Brown and getting Hurts injured in their last game against the Giants in a meaningless game has a lot of folks riled up also. Debate as to whether he should have played them and whether it was a meaningless game but a bunch of Philly faithful really upset.

    So if Detroit loses we can expect Johnson to have in person interview Monday, second interview Wednesday, announcement Thursday and presser Friday. right? lol If they win.....same timeline except announcement after they eventually lose in playoffs. Im bored, need some actual news.

    With the previous ownership I think this would definitely be a concern. I just think with Peters they are not going to latch on to any big name they can get in here, this question and more will be asked and answered to their satisfaction. I truly believe we are in adult hands now. Kind of hard to get used to but very refreshing. If they lose someone will say why are we going after Johnson....he lost. lol

    I imagine OC's, agents etc. have been calling Peter's to "congratulate" him on his appointment. Im sure there has been some initial back door inquiries even if its not formal and an actual interview. They already have a good idea which direction they are going, obviously the actual interviews may sway them one way or another but I'm pretty sure there's a lot already going on behind the scenes.
