Need my computer heads!

Ok so I guess a trojan got through my Avira antivirus, and now my internet is being weird. It will only let me go to like 3 or 4 different webpages, ES being one of them.

I used to post in Spywareinfo Forum for my other PC problems and they helped out a lot, but I can't get into any computer help site. I can't even go to google.

Is anyone here familiar with HijackThis logs or MalwareBytes logs, and could tell me whats going on, or what to delete if I post one?

MalwareBytes doesn't work like HijackThis, it's a little bit more like Ad-aware and Spybot in that it detects and removes things on the spot. HijackThis is the more powerful tool but obviously requires extra help if you're not a particular kind of computer specialist.

You should just be able to download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (download here) and have it get rid of your problem without any guides.

I have it already and ran a scan and it deleted a few things, but I guess they didn't work, cause the same things are happening.

Any other signs/symptoms aside from not being able to access web pages?

It started with random popups which are gone now after the scan.

But everything else seems to be running fine.

When I start the computer though an error pops up saying something can't be found. Can't remember off the top of my head what it says though.

Sounds like a nasty trojan. You're going to have to use a different computer to remove it and repair any damage its done. It will most likely be a multi step process.

Here's a scanner you can use for a log: OTL (apparently more frequently updated then Hijack This)

I recommend posting that logfile on that forum you use, or go to geekstogo and have someone help you.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials and scan. Nobody knows their system more than Microsoft. If this doesn't work.......time to format C:. You will NEVER get rid of spyware. The amount of time you take to get rid of spyware from being annoying but still being there.....you would have your entire system back up.

It wont even let me view those webpages....I emailed a log of hijack this and malware bytes to myself so I can post it in that forum from a different computer. I guess that would be my last resort.

Your going to have to use a different computer and transfer the needed software to the infected computer.

The trojan will likely make it difficult to run those programs as well. You might have to try a few things like running them in safe mode and changing their file names.

If I can fix it remotely by taking over your computer how much you willing to spend? :D

Ok here is free advice that should fix it:

1. Boot into safe mode with networking (press F8 couple of times after you see the computer company logo).

2. Download SpyDoctor from pack.google.com - it is free.

3. Run Malwarebytes first again.

4. Run SpyDoctor.

The errors you are getting are items still not cleaned up in your startup.

1. Type MSCONFIG in the run command.

2. Click on the startup tab.

3. Uncheck anything that looks like it shouldn't be there. Look at the path to determine if it is suppose to be a legit software like AV or iTunes, etc.

4. Go to Add/Remove programs via control panel

5. Uninstall any software that says search bar or something to the like or any other toolbars that you don't use or didn't install like Yahoo toolbar.

6. You can use HijackThis to remove BHO (Browser Helper Objects) that shouldn't be loading - usually the ones that you don't recognize - again look at the path of the BHO.

Reboot PC.

If you are still having problems and you are local (MD, VA, DC) and would like in-home service go to www.ghznetworks.com for a small fee. I own this company. :)
