Orakpo was interviewed by Jim Miller and Solomon Wilcox today.

Recap:

Orakpo was introduced as having the nickname "The Weapon" and had just come off the practice field.

Q. How can the defense improve?

A. The team is so talented that they have to learn how to play as one instead of a bunch of individuals. They are also working on establishing more pressure. (he used this answer a couple of times to different questions)

Q. How are they going to stop Kevin Smith?

A. Again, play as a whole unit versus a bunch of individuals. Orakpo played against him in college and respects his ability and calls him a shifty back.

Q. How did zorn handle the team after they were booed despite winning the game?

A. Everyone is still optimistic. The skin fans are passionate and they appreciate that. "It is what it is" (like most athletest these days, he said this about 30 times in the interview). Redskin nation wants to be entertained and he understands that.

Q. Were you ever booed after a win when playing at Texas?

A. Orakpo could not hear the question and was confused. He said, "was I ever blowed after a game?" The hosts cracked up and made sure he understood they said "booed" before he continued with his answer. He said he was never booed after a win at Texas.

Q. What has been the biggest difference between college and the pros?

A. Being booed after a win.

Q. How big is this Detroit game?

A. Detroit is playing well, the skins are fired up and motivated and not taking them lightly at all.

That was pretty much it. Orakpo handled himself very well and has the script down of what not to say. It was a pretty vanilla interview.

Jim Miller who was a QB at Chicago and played when Blache was their DC, said Blache thrives when the pressure is on the D like it has been with the skins offense struggling and will have his unit improving and ready.
