Ford
I don't often post links to articles on my site out of courtesy but I was really curious what kind of feedback I would get on this. I tried out .. a mock offseason. Went through the whole offseason, made all the ideal moves I would make. Maybe a few things are too good to be true .. not sure .. I'm sure buddha will rip apart my feable attempts to master the cap though

here's the link .. http://www.redskinshq.com/viewz/offseason.shtml

[ February 02, 2002, 11:56 PM: Message edited by: RedskinsHQ ]
JonBlaze
Damn, I give you credit just for going through all that work to make that. I think some of the players that were resigned in your scenario will want more money then that (and I highly doubt Raymer or Coleman sign for NO signing bonus at all).

The trade seems unrealistic. I don't think Carolina will want an aging DE with a slightly high contract.

I like the players picked up in the draft though. Sims is an obvious need position. Reed and Caldwell would do wonders in a Spurrier passing offense. I like the Ramsey pick, but I think he's played himself into a higher draft pick then that now.

Can you figure out a way to get rid of Sam Shade? Thanks
OrangeSkin
We seem rather thin at some key positions, especially at wide reciever. Hopefully Joe/Vinny will make something happen with WR.

But I also admire you for doing all that work. I never could have done it, because I'm far too lazy. Rat_Boy
Fine job really.

Though, I am not sure that I would want to go to next season with our most experienced NFL receiver being Rod Gardner, and with two rookie QB's. (Counting Sage since he hasn't played.)

None the less, that took some work.
DIESEL TROLL
What is this obsession with Fiedler? This guys has NEVER put up any really decent stats and I tend to think that he cracks under pressure.....so why give him a huge contract when you could have BETTER talent AND SMARTS PLUS leadership with Jeff Blake? Work THAT into yer numbers HQ....
TennesseeCarl
Man, that's very impressive. And while I'm not wild about Fiedler, that looks like a formidable team.

Keep in mind that we have no 3rd round pick of our own this year - gone to K.C. for Marty S. Romo
isnt Metcalf a free agent? not to be picky but they didnt have him in their resigning but he was on the roster.

also im not sure i like the idea of having a rookie 3rd round pick as our starting guard.

and why are they signing Derrius Thompson and then releasing him? i suppose they are predicting we resign him for insurance and then drop him when we dont need him. its nice to know fans can be calous as well. NavyDave
It's cheaper to keep D Mac than to resign Derrius Thompson.

I'm sure we are going to find some undrafted free agents from division 2 or 3 that may surprise
