If I were you, I would try out Franco's Italian Restaurant on N Military Highway in Norfolk. Good italian food there, and at night on the weekends they have a live piano player there. I'd also try out Charlie's Seafood Rewstaurant on Shore Drive in Va Beach. I had some of the best calamari I have *EVER* had in my life there - really really good food. My husband loves their she-crab soup. http://www.charliesseafood.com/ As for the Jewish Mother? Just watch out for the roaches - they like to crawl out of cutlery and on walls and tables....yuck. (Been there several times, met roaches each time...)
