Jersey Question

hey jersey experts out there.

I normally have said I refuse to wear jerseys, but now I really wouldnt mind wearing a Monk, Clark, or Green jersey, or maybe even some others, though I still try to avoid current players. anyways, I see some of these on ebay, and I wonder how real they are:

I see the words throwback a lot, and the pictures for some of those look weird. Also, if it says nameplate, does that mean the name is easily changable, for a current players jersey I mean? I just wanna know peoples opinions on the few Monk ones I see there.

I'm not an expert in the jersey area, but I think I know enough to say they don't look legit.

Actually, the first Rypien one is close...but the background in the picture (bright yellow) was killing my eyes and I couldn't quite tell (the numbers should be outlined in the yellow...it appears as if they are but it was tough to see). On the second Rypien one the name has a gold outline around the white lettering. The real uniforms only had white lettering.

The middle Monk one is also close.

I'm no expert either. Throwback is more about style and brand name than authenticity. Mitchell & Ness is the Mercedes of throwback jerseys but they are very pricey and tough to find on E-bay. Most of the "throwback" jerseys on E-bay aren't worth a whole lot BUT as long as you aren't thinking of these jersey's as investments....I think they are fine to wear to show who your favorite players are....:2cents:

I own a Monk one similiar to the ones you posted with the (burgundy colored) and I just got a white Riggins one. It is VERY tough to find authentics for the older players. I generally don't pay more than $30 or $40 for the E-bay ones.

The 2nd Monk looks nice. The first one is bobo.

The 1st Rypien looks pretty good.

i might consider the first Rypien one, seeing as how it seems pretty accurate. RonJeremy, the pics on ebay for those throwbacks look pretty horrible, does your jersey look like a standard burgundy Monk jersey? I think I might consider that as well, just cause its cheap and as long as it looks almost normal, like you said, I really am not looking for investment, just something to wear to games and around.

Anyone know of any other places to find these?

The second or third Monk jerseys are pretty close. They aren't perfect BUT they ain't bad. Stay away from the first one!

Good luck and try not to pay more than $30 for them. Most go $30 or less. If they are bid up higher than that...wait....more will come up and you will eventually get one!
