Any Good Sports Bars In Mississippi?

I just joined the DC Air National Guard a few months ago. I'm getting ready to leave for tech school (Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS) in 10 days. It's 8 months long so I won't have the luxury of watching the Redskins games on local tv. Can anyone tell me of any good sports bars close by where I could catch the Skins? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keesler. What school are you going to?

There is a Sports bar across the street from the Edgewater Mall. It's the only mall in town, so you won't have trouble finding it.

Be glad you are going when you are. There's a whole lot more to do there now that the casinos have moved into town. When I was an instructor there in the early 90's, it was a boring little town with very little to do

Don't go in the water though. It's still nasty.

Go to Gulf Shores in AL for beaches, or Pensacola.

PM me if you want more details, but I have to go "Out of Town" for a few weeks come Friday.

Good luck if I don't talk to ya. Let me know how it goes

Sarge is right. There was a sports bar at Edgewater. I don't know if its there any more.

Restaurants down there are incredible. Ocean Springs is the best place to go looking for a meal. If you're going to order a po boy, check to see if they use Desporte's rolls first. If they don't, its not a po boy.

Don't get in the water on the beach. Only tourists do that. Go to the back bay if you want to ski, or find a friend with a boat and go out to ship island if you want to go to the beach.

Man, its hot. 2 or 3 showers a day hot. There are days that you walk outside at daybreak and steam is coming off your driveway.

Good luck.

In fact, the whole state is barren. A friend of mine told me all they have is near-beer.

There's Mississippi north of I-10 and Mississippi south of I-10. Biloxi's on the right side of the interstate. The residents there don't say they're from Mississippi, they say they're from the Gulf Coast.

My dad was stationed at Biloxi when I was in high school. When I found out where he was being assigned I thought it was the end of the world. But to tell you the truth, it was the most fun I had at any location. There was room enough to do guy stuff. All kinds of fishing, boating, and outdoor rec. stuff. Everyone you meet has a pool you can crash. Crawfish boils once a month. New Orleans. Good food. There's a lazy, slow, Jimmy Buffet kind of pace to everything.

Another thing, best thing to do is ask your instructors where to go and what to do when you get there. They have the low down on all the cheap eats buffets, etc. Aunt Jenny's in Ocean SPrings is a great all you can eat place

Also, people above I-10 are considered Yankees. Not much up that way, but you'll be alright at Biloxi
