TheKurp
No, I've not heard or read this anywhere. However I always liked Jim when he was playing here. It seems like a perfect fit given the Nets just released him and Brendan Haywood may be out for an extended period with possible torn tendons in his thumb. Jahidi White is also appearing injury prone lately and is currently nursing an injured knee. Who else will be able to fill the center spot if the Wizards don't bring someone in? Brown? Thomas? Laetner?
bulldog
McIlvaine was fine for $500K a year just not for the $25 or $30 million he was offered in free agency When will the NBA learn not to pay these big white stiffs big dollars to sit under the basket and attempt to block shots flat-footed? TennesseeCarl
My favorite white stiff is Ostertag. If the guy could even make lay-ups, the Jazz could have won a title or two. He's got to have the worst hands in the league.
bulldog
My favorite of all-time was Will Perdue. The guy got rich and got a handful of rings as well as ladies and whatever else he wanted by just walking a couple of paces behind Michael Jordan for 4 or 5 years. @DCGoldPants
sure they do....the ones that pretend to be athletes and actually get on the court at some time. ------------------
Fitz
I liked Jim also, when he was here playing the Bill Wennington role, and I was sorry to see him go. But *not* getting into a bidding war for his services was one of the very few correct personnel decisions made by the 90's Bullets/Wizards. The Sonics were insane to pay him like they did, but more power to Jim for getting the big payday. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back for the right money, but he doesn't fit into Jordan's scheme of making the team younger and more athletic. At any rate, I don't think we'll see any moves for big men until they find out whether Haywood needs surgery. But you never know, after all MJ won several rings with a whole bunch of big white stiffs playing center .
