redskins2001
I guess Leewenburg wasnt a sure thing after all seeing as the Broncos just signed him. So much for our utility O-lineman
bulldog
the signing of Matt Campbell effectively ended the pursuit of Leeuwenburg. With the development of Derrick Fletcher and the fact we have Raymer, Fischer and now Brandt at center, the Skins needed a utility linemen who could play guard and TACKLE. Campbell started at left tackle and right tackle for the Panthers and gives the Skins greater flexibility. I think the Skins would have signed Jay earlier in free agency if they could have and then signed a tackle as well. But Jay had some issues evidently, whether it was money or playing time that just prevented the club from reaching agreement with him despite weeks of trying. I can't believe he is going to get much playing time in Denver barring injury because Dan Neill is one of the better centers in the NFL. Still, Jay seems to be moving from one year to the next to teams he thinks will get him a ring. you can't blame him for that. Matt Millen was the best at that game. He was so astute. He did his gig with the Raiders and then when they fell, he latched on with SF for their 55-10 shellacking of Denver and then he finished on the 14-2 Redskins in 1991, going out with a FOURTH Super Bowl ring from 3 different teams. All In
Do you have a link of the Ben Coleman signing? Broncos | Two Added; One Released - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) 11:12 PT: According to the Associated Press, the Denver Broncos have released CB Cordell Taylor and signed free agents DT Cyron Brown and C Jay Leeuwenburg (Redskins). Broncos | Poole Signed - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) 11:11 PT: Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos have signed free agent WR Keith Poole (Saints) to an undisclosed deal. WTF?! How come no one brings up the chemistry issue with the 1K new FA the Broncos have signed? Of course they didn't have a spineless coach like we had the last 7 years. Monkey
Skins_Freak, They also don't have an owner who is hated by both the NFL 'old boys' and the press. Coleman hasn't signed yet and I think the report ND is refering to was something from the weekend.
KMP
Skins_Freak, you also neglect to mention the meddling owner we have in Washington. I see your point clearly. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.joegibbsracing.com/joe_gibbs/joegibbs_images/driver_prof_joe.jpg" border=0><IMG SRC="http://www.joegibbsracing.com/current_season/jgr_wc_18/jgr_wc_18_images/car/bobby_car_race.gif" border=0><IMG SRC="http://www.joegibbsracing.com/current_season/jgr_wc_20/jgr_wc_20_images/car/drive_pontiac_tony.gif" border=0>
