freakofthesouth
With the trouble Portis was having w/ running in the tackles, why didn't we use the sweep more often last Sunday? On our first drive, we really utilized the flats through sweeps, and PA bootlegs to ou TEs, etc. But w/ the G men crowding the box, can anyone explain to me why we didn't run more sweeps to get Portis on the edge? Leonard Washington
ray brown or other lineman too slow to make the blocks? thought the giants were expecting it? coach thought it might lead to a fumble by portis or brunell?
freakofthesouth
OK, thanks Leonard. Don't you think that Portis is relatively effective on play such as sweeps, etc?
Louie 14
I do and do not understand why we stopped running the ball on our second drive.
Snagletooth
Agreed, with the passing game struggling the G-men stacked the box. I was expecting to see a few runs to the outside. I think a few of those 1 yarders up the gut could have been 3 or 4 yarders if we let Portis use his speed to get outside.
G.Smitty
I think at this point Joe Gibbs doesn't really understand the best way to use Portis. I'm hopefull that this week we will see more stretch plays that allow Portis to use his great speed and vision to get yardage..
